John Blackburn obituary | The Times
This obituary of an ‘acclaimed Sixties abstract painter who fell into almost complete obscurity only to be rediscovered by an art consultant in 2002’, takes a couple of quite unexpected turns, not the least of which is : “While worldly in some respects, his understanding of the machinations of the contemporary art world could be rather naive, a result of working in isolation for much of his career. Financially this was not a problem because by then he had become a successful manufacturer of teddy bears.”
