The XWiki project offers both a generic platform for developing collaborative applications using the wiki paradigm and products developed on top of it. Written in Java. Looks rather complicated to install & maintain.
Very expensive for groups, but free for single users. Online editor only, which is a problem if you want to edit off the net.
Skillful, and craftful. Not very ergonomic though. What circumstances might make this the preferred solution? Given those circumstances, what might help the user?
Using Enigma Virtual Box, it's apparently possible to turn Obsidian into a portable app. Not sure why that's necessary.
