Die richtte daarrna - zoals misschien bekend - een vrij succesvol bandje op, de even flamboyante als poëtische Gavin Friday bewandelde een meer experimentele weg met de legendarische Virgin Prunes. De Ierse zanger en componist, in 1959 als Fionán Martin Hanvey geboren, brak eind jaren tachtig alsnog wereldwijd door als solozanger met het naar een tekst van Oscar Wilde vernoemde meesterwerk Each man kills the things he loves (met pianist The Man Seezer en fraai artwork van vriend Anton Corbijn).
