LEVA-EU Statement on the Future of Eurobike
LEVA-EU Statement on the Future of Eurobike
LEVA-EU does not wish to comment on the individual decisions of ZIV, Zukunft Fahrrad, Bosch, or other companies that have chosen not to participate in Eurobike. What matters is the broader question of how the light mobility sector chooses to engage with a rapidly evolving landscape. Eurobike remains the only truly international trade show in […]

'Change e-bike regulations only if you are aware of the market impact'
BERLIN, Germany - E-bikes are the spearhead of electromobility in Europe. Over the past 10 years, e-bikes have fundamentally transformed the European mobility market. At the same time, stakeholders have become more diverse. The German research institute zNT assessed the discussion on the regulatory framework for e-bikes and concluded: if you want to change the regulations, you must not only provide technical arguments, but also prove that what has been achieved will not be jeopardised.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The dispute on future e-bike regulations in the European committee where e-bike standards are developed, the CEN/TC 333*, has entered the next level of argumentation. Until now, many questioned the German industry association ZIV over its standpoint. Yesterday, ZIV published a statement claiming that, "our member companies once again explicitly endorsed the proposed technical parameters, giving the association a clear mandate exceeding 80%."

Trauma surgeons in London hospitals have reported a spike in injuries linked to heavy rental bikes, including fractures severe enough to earn the nickname ‘lime bike leg’.

When Law-Abiding Companies & Riders Pay the Price: The Wrong Approach to Regulating E-Scooters and Fat Bikes

Electric cargo bikes are rewiring cities.
Electric cargo bikes are rewiring cities.
My absolute favorite thing I own is a Flyer L885 electric cargo bike. It’s not the most powerful or most expensive, but it fits my lifestyle perfectly. I use it almost everyday to replace car trips, which is no easy task in a nation as car dependent as the US. Check out this video about how cargo bikes are changing a lot of people’s lives for the better. Also: bike bus! [Media: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypUGjGWo_hg]

Last Chance: Sign the Open Letter Before ZIV’s Proposal Destroys Your EPACs or EPAC Components
The German bicycle industry association, ZIV, has published a position paper, “E-bikes – Active Mobility as Success Factor”, that supposedly aims to protect the legal status of electrically power-assisted cycles (EPACs) by keeping them out of the type-approval system in Regulation 168/2013. If ZIV’s proposals were ever adopted, a large share of the EPACs that […]
