A recent Inside Higher Ed article reported that college counseling centers have experienced an increase in the number of students who report trauma histories. In many instances, students who have experienced trauma do need the support of mental health professionals, but the truth is that our counseling colleagues can’t alone do the work of supporting students through trauma.
