BMW eDrive components are also manufactured in Shenyang. The electric motor developed for the new BMW iX3 produces a maximum power of 286 hp and instantly develops a maximum torque of 400 Nm. Top speed is limited to 180Km/h.

BMW has done the homologation tests required for a fully electric car in China and Europe at the same time. After more than 340 hours of various tests and over 7700 kilometres travelled, the homologation was completed in four weeks. The results have been sent to relevant authorities around the world so that the BMW iX3 electric car can be type-approved for the various markets. The BMW iX3 fully electric SUV production starts at the BMW Brilliance factory in Shenyang, China later this summer.
