90s Cable Simulator - Recreating Retro Cable TV with a Raspberry Pi
I made a 90s cable simulator to recreate cable's greatest decade. In this video, I’ll show you what I did, how it works, I’ll give you a tour of the 90s cable simulation I built and then show you some simulators that have been built by others using this same software.

Two-Row Guitar Pedalboard Feet, Customizable by rivir
If you use my file, PLEASE post a make! I'd love to see your pedalboard! To get a rough idea of how long of a board you will want, use a tool like https://www.pedalplayground.com/ to lay out your pedals. Be sure to leave room for cables, and roughly 1" per side for the printed feet.I bought some 3"x1" oak planks at my local hardware store and wanted to make a simple two-level pedalboard out of it, so I designed this using OpenSCAD. (Note that the planks are actually smaller than 3"x1", but like most wood, they are labelled larger.) Printed both sides, screwed it into the boards, added Velcro tape along the boards and under the pedals, screwed a power supply to the underside of one of the boards, et voila! It turned out great - rock solid.I tried to make the OpenSCAD file as flexible as possible, but I can't guarantee it'll work well if you put wildly different sizes into it compared to the values I used. Specifically, the cable holes may get messed up, so you could delete them or tweak them, if need be. I would suggest just measuring your board dimensions, plugging them in (with an extra 0.5 or 1mm, to be safe), and go with that. Oh, and maybe measure your cable dimensions because the step up value I used is JUST enough space between the two layers to get Ernie Ball flat ribbon patch cables through. If you use something else, you might need a few more mm of clearance (or just route all cables between the boards on the same level, of course). I'd suggest after making changes, sink the STL into your build plate and print about a 1mm high test piece to see if it fits the wood to your liking. You will need to have a larger printer to print this in one piece, with the default values (this could change if you start tweaking it!). I fit it easily onto my Thinker SE, which is 300x300mm. Just had to rotate it correctly in the slicer (see photos). If I could do it again, I think I'd make the top open, maybe no sides, too, and just screw into the wood from the bottom, but I dunno. It worked really well just like this, and I'm done designing it, now. There doesn't seem to be any need to support in the middle of the planks, even with 30-inch boards, as there's no sag or flex, really (at least with oak). But I may just do one for piece of mind, anyhow, I dunno.
