A few things: Having a different WMClass lets me manage the window with my window manager (and bind global keybindings through hyprland, since wayland typically makes mute bindings impossible). I use the tab restore feature, this way the clutter of effectively desktop applications doesn’t stick around permanently. I get to have separate desktop icons (read: drun entries). I don’t need to have a urlbar I don’t use get in the way of what the application is doing.

ADHD: A Left-handed Brain
ADHD: A Left-handed Brain
Thank you so much to Rebecca Champ, check her Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/rebeccachampuk Hi folks, this video is about ADHD, and is my follow-up from my "Hacking Your Brain With Elaborate Coping Mechanisms" video[1]. Despite not being left-handed, I do have a great deal of empathy for our left-handed cousins because of my ADHD: Some tools, like scissors, you can get a left-handed version of, of course. You can fill your house with physical coping mechanisms that help you function. But when you walk out into the world, you will find that nearly everything isn't designed for you. NixOS: Everything Everywhere All At Once
NixOS: Everything Everywhere All At Once
One day, as happens now and then with a bleeding-edge rolling release distro, a systemd update reversed my mouse buttons. The great thing about rolling-release and cutting-edge distributions like Arch Linux, is that you get to be a beta tester, whether you like it or not!I thought this was the way it had to be on Linux: Stability or cutting-edge features, not both. But that wasn't right at all, with NixOS you can have everything, everywhere all at once!❤️ If you would like to support what I do, I have set up a Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/noboilerplate - Thank you!📄 All my videos are built in compile-checked markdown, transcript source code available here https://github.com/0atman/noboilerplate this is also where you'll find links to everything mentioned. 🖊️ Corrections are in the pinned ERRATA comment.🦀 Start your Rust journey here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hXNd6x9sZs👕 Bad shirts available here https://www.teepublic.com/user/no-boilerplate🖼️ The Phosphene Catalogue is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3wVvDbJHrU🛰️ Lost Terminal is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3bDE9kszMc🌕 Modem Prometheus is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SDnUVHAC44🎵 My published albums are on spotify, itunes, etc, but I have a lot more unpublished work over at https://soundcloud.com/namtao🙏🏻 CREDITS & PROMOMy name is Tris Oaten and I produce fast, technical videos. A dozen thoughts about AI
A dozen thoughts about AI
AI. It’s the talk of the town (or at least this year, that is). I’ve been in dozens of conversations about AI in recent days. The likelihood that the next big feature or product I build involves AI seems to be going up. No idea where it’s all headed – and reserve the right to change my mind – but a dozen conversations leaves me with a dozen or so disparate thoughts about this new frontier of technology.
