THE RISE OF RV DELIVERY RV delivery is one of the latest trends in camping, upending the traditional model where you exchange your car for an RV at a rental facility. One of the biggest RV delivery operators is RVshare, a company that operates like Airbnb for RVs. And while not all RVs offered there are deliverable, RVshare said that almost 40% of its RV rentals were delivered so far in 2022, up from 27% in 2021 and 16% in 2020. With RV delivery, you don’t have to worry about driving, gas mileage and liability. Instead, you simply arrive at a campground to an RV that’s already set up for you. Patterson rented through a similar service called Outdoorsy, which says that 70% of its listings offer delivery. Other delivery companies own and operate the RVs themselves. Most are regional, like Southern California’s 101 RV Rentals , which delivers to campgrounds throughout Santa Barbara, California. WHO ARE RV DELIVERIES FOR? RV deliveries can be great for nature lovers, but that’s not the only clientele. It’s also handy for those traveling to a destination with no hotels available or a place where hotels are expensive. RVshare said its top 2021 delivery destination was The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, a Disney-owned campground located a quick ferry ride from the Magic Kingdom theme park in Florida — and it’s getting more popular. According to RVshare, RV deliveries at Fort Wilderness for the first three quarters of 2022 were up 12% versus the same period in 2021. The cost of a campsite at Fort Wilderness Resort, including full RV hookups, is $1,300 for a six-night stay during the first week of March 2023. For a six-person cabin at the resort over the same period, you’d pay $3,600. Sure, the cost of an RV rental and delivery eats into the $2,300 difference. But across delivery sites like RVshare and Outdoorsy, there are dozens of available listings large enough to sleep six that cost less than $1,000 for the week, including setup and delivery. A few are even less than $500, making an RV rental one of the cheapest ways to sleep at Disney World. LIMITATIONS OF RV DELIVERY Some campgrounds ban delivery: Rules vary by campground and are inconsistent across state and national parks. For example, RV delivery is prohibited in Yellowstone National Park, but it’s OK for some sites at Yosemite National Park. You can’t stop overnight wherever you want: For many, part of the charm of an RV trip is the ability to stop along the way. Patterson says she prefers delivery if she’s driving to the campground in one day with minimal stops. But for a leisurely trip with many stops, she might default to driving the RV, especially since it gives her kids room to spread out. Delivery fees can be confusing: Outdoorsy lets owners set delivery fees, and it means that sometimes a cheaper RV might turn out to be more expensive if delivery fees are high. Some companies charge a flat rate for delivery (typically $150-$300), while others charge by distance (typically $4-$6 per mile). Even then, most limit deliveries to a certain area, which varies by owner. You can’t pack as much: For rentals near home, you can pack the RV from your own driveway. Otherwise, you’ll be equipped only with what you can fit in the vehicle that got you to the campground. That especially limits bulky items — such as bikes and surfboards. BENEFITS OF RV DELIVERY RVs can be one of the most desirable ways to camp, offering conveniences like air conditioning, kitchens, power outlets and Wi-Fi. Many of their challenges can be mitigated by delivery. You save on gas by driving a car — not an RV — to the destination: Cruise America says, on average, its RVs get 6 mpg to 10 mpg. Instead, you drive your car — which gets better gas mileage — on the road trip and have an RV delivered from a place closer to your destination. Insurance coverage is often cheaper: Rental company Outdoorsy requires that all renters have an insurance package that covers liability and damage. For stationary deliveries, that insurance is cheaper because you’re not paying to cover the rig on the road. Sometimes it’s less than a quarter of the cost of Outdoorsy’s comprehensive coverage to insure an RV that you’ll drive. No onerous setup: RVs can be challenging (particularly for first-timers) to hook up, which is necessary to access fresh water, sewers and electricity. Since Patterson has no room to store an RV if she had one, she rents every time. But each type of RV does have its downsides. With a van, she has to remove hookups and secure the items inside every time her family drives off the campsite. Cracking cases and sneaking through enemy territories with Robin’s small frame is ideal and the wind blowing his ‘Knightwatch’ cape is unmatched – although I’m secretly hoping for a Batman Forever DLC suit. Going into Gotham Knights, I was sure Robin would be my character of choice, but Nightwing’s acrobatics and strong stature won me around to the blue corner – even though a bulkier Grayson was hard to accept in the New Guard suit. Being the charmer of the group, Nightwing is somewhat radiant as a leader, which offers an intriguing interaction should you play him during Harley Quinn’s appearance. “What envigorates this standard, open-world formula is the setting you patrol in and it’s perhaps the most vibrant image of Gotham City you’ve ever seen. By vibrant, I don’t mean the technicolor of Batman & Robin, but rather a city rich in history and world-building details that are integral to the game’s exploration drive.” Same Old Mechanics, Different Gotham The usual suspects are all present in Gotham Knights’ mechanics, with the addition of a well-stocked database to keep track of all your encounters and emails from the other Knights that build personality. There is a stacked catalog of things to do on and off patrol in Gotham – a majority of which include exploration rather than assigned interactions – and enough reading within objects of interest to have you well-versed in the city’s history. The Belfry is your hub and home, which is a neat nook to explore in itself flavored with a mini-game and Wonder Woman Easter egg. This den is also equipped with the main HUD, an evidence board for all the true-crime fans, and a training corner where you can learn from the best – yes, it’s Batman. Bruce Wayne’s epic send-off during the prologue was a thrilling opening within an equally impressive Bat Cave (and equally impressive traps on the billionaire’s shoulders) and although Bruce is gone, he is very much not forgotten. Your time outside of the Belfry is broken up into nights, encouraging you to explore and break up petty crimes or hostage situations while completing main missions. Each time you return to the Belfry, you’ll get a summary of your night, and going home without numbers is a roundhouse kick to the ego. Collecting, adding, and surveying evidence is a nice role to undertake on the back of The Batman’s success, even though the puzzles could be solved by Damian Wayne. The Freaks’ hideouts or even the Penguin’s Iceberg Lounge is a hued visit.   Suits and Gadgets Galore Are you even a real superhero if you haven’t got a closet full of customizable suits and an arsenal of gadgets? Luckily, Warner Bros. knows what we need from that department, offering 15 different suits (in the Deluxe version) for each sidekick, including the steampunk ‘Knight Ops’ selection, or my personal favorite, the ‘Shinobi’ suits. The ‘Knightwatch’ collection designed by Jim Lee comes with the Deluxe edition, and it was great to see classic designs against modern Gotham in a game that actually keeps your assigned cosmetics in cutscenes and the title screen. I’m looking at you Ubisoft. With most of the suits unlocking at different levels, it came down to thwarting local criminals in order to upgrade suits and weapons of the melee and ranged kind. Being rewarded with XP and crafting materials for breaking up low-level crimes sadly didn’t motivate me to sweep every sector in Gotham. I wanted more weapons or suit accessories, but I guess I’m just greedy. You’ll also find the suits on display back at the Belfry when you’re off patrol, showcased to admire your choices, along with your new best friend on the streets. The Batcycle is introduced to you very early on (much to my delight) and is your primary mode of transport for traveling everywhere from Gotham Heights to the Bay. Calling your revving steed with one flick of the button is idyllic, combined with its good grip and steering on those rainy nights, and yeah, its colorway is also customizable. The glider is another neat addition to transport tech and a fun novelty, but nothing beats feeling the grit underneath your tires and having angry NPCs honk at you every time you pop a wheelie passed them. While it may have been normal to spot a taxi frozen in mid-air within the first launch of Cyberpunk 2077, I wasn’t expecting to come across this anomaly on the streets of Gotham. Though not quite Glitch City, the frozen cab paved the way for sticky markers and some suit capes that disappeared when the wind blew too strong. The aforementioned will likely be ironed out in patches, but the unfortunate mishap with Gotham Knights lies in its narrative and dialogue. Sure, the momentum builds the further you progress, but the initial investigations lead you through DC villains like an appetizing smorgasbord, which did little to strengthen the original story despite delivering giddy fanservice.  The Court of Owls sequence is the perfect example of iconic villains appearing in gameplay who give very little to the core tale. That’s not to say the sequence was dull or nonsensical, on the contrary, it remains one of my favorite encounters, but the Court’s overall impact on the greater story could have been stronger. Another aspect that needed fortified was the dialogue, which felt targeted toward a younger audience despite the game’s PG-15 rating. The writing progresses the missions just fine, but the back-and-forth’s remained shallow, sometimes clunky, and always desired to be sharper. It is extremely rare for the U.S. military to acknowledge where their ballistic missile subs are operating, particularly when they are stationed near an adversary’s shores. In a statement Kurilla praised the submarine and its crew, calling submarines like it “the crown jewel of the nuclear triad.”   “The West Virginia demonstrates the flexibility, survivability, readiness, and capability of USCENTCOM and USSTRATCOM forces at sea,” he said. The USS West Virginia at an undisclosed location in international waters in the Arabian Sea.U.S. Central Command / Twitter Kurilla’s visit may be seen as sending a message to U.S. adversaries in the region, including Iran, of Washington’s capabilities, including submarines that can carry up to 20 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.  A defense official said Kurilla’s visit was not a response to any recent event or provocation, but is more a signal after months of mounting tensions, which have seen attacks against locations housing U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria. Kopper is developing a prototype device that will send vital information directly to emergency workers. It could be mounted on a firefighter’s helmet or strapped to a police officer’s arm. “Virtual reality is ready and is already able to show benefit for training,” Kopper said.  In the meantime, Kopper uses a lightweight headset, armband and two hand controllers for a virtual reality computer program replicating emergency simulations. It trains first responders and showcases a response using augmented reality.  “In training situations, it’s to create scenarios that mimic real-life situations that might not be common or might be expensive to simulate,” he said. Situations like an unpredictable traffic stop, complex medical call or explosive house fire.  Once the headset is on the user’s head, the emergency begins. “We’re not interacting with a game controller,” Kopper said. “We’re interacting with our whole body as we would in real life.”  Kopper is developing a device to bring the technology to real life for emergency calls.  “Augmented reality is getting there, but is not quite there yet,” he said.   Instead of a completely computer-generated world, first responders would see a combination of both through their eyes.  “You have lenses that you can see through, but they have technology that can render images onto those lenses and render images at different perceived depths,” Kopper said. It’s a way for emergency workers to get real-time information within an eyeshot.    “Instead of displaying to a handheld device it would display directly into their helmet mounted display,” he said. In this instance, police officers could pull warrants instantly, firefighters could sense the intensity of a blaze, and paramedics could review a patient’s vitals on command.   Kopper said it’s an invention to improve efficiency, make precise decisions, and respond quickly to the unexpected.   “We can increase their focus on the task that might be putting the first responder’s life at risk,” Kopper said.  A nearly $2 million dollar grant will be used to help develop the technology. Kopper told FOX8 it’s less than a decade away from existence.  Kopper is working with UNCG Police, Greensboro Police and law enforcement agencies in the Triangle.  He mentioned virtual reality is not a replacement for traditional training for first responders.

It’s a great way to break up the days at the parks … and it just makes it feel like a vacation, where we still get that Disney magic staying on property.” While both Disney World and Disneyland feature accommodations, attractions, dining venues, nighttime spectaculars and other experiences unique to their location, there are a number of attractions guests can ride at both resorts, but even some of those, like Pirates of the Caribbean, are executed differently.  “I really enjoy the subtle differences,” said Ryan. When she and her husband first rode Space Mountain at Disneyland, she said, “Immediately we’re like, ‘OK, even the setup is different.’ We got to sit next to each other, where in Disney World we sit front and back. The index gained over 12 points on Tuesday. The breadth of the market was in negative territory with more stocks sliding. Meanwhile, liquidity on the southern bourse also decreased, of which trading value on HoSE reached VND8.2 trillion (US$337.6 million). This is the lowest trading value since November 17, 2020. The low liquidity showed that investors are no longer interested in the stock market after the strong volatility of September and October. The 30 biggest stocks tracker VN30-Index also posted a loss of 5.41 points, or 0.51 per cent, to 1,0653.65 points. Nine stocks of the VN30 basket added points, while 17 inched down and four ended flat. The HNX-Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX) finished at 227.9 points, down 1.22 points, or 0.53 per cent. PM orders accelerated public investment disbursement in final months of the year Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has ordered ministries and agencies to step up public investment disbursement in the implementation of three key national target programmes in the remaining months of 2022. The cabinet leader issued a directive on accelerating public investment disbursement on Monday with the task of disbursing an enormous amount of public investment in the last few months of the year. In the first nine months of 2022, about VNĐ35 trillion of public investment has been disbursed, increasing by 16 per cent compared to last year, covering 46.7 per cent of the workload assigned by the PM this year. According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the public investment disbursement workload in 2022 is heavy. This is because the amount of capital that needs to be disbursed is about VNĐ80 trillion, higher than in 2021, and not including about VNĐ38 trillion in extra development expenditure from the recovery and socio-economic development programmes. However, the PM said in the decree that public investment speed has fallen short of expectations due to several shortcomings. Shortcomings in the decree include a lack of responsibility at ministerial and provincial level leaders, unfinished land clearance work and low-quality supervision. According to the directive, accelerating public investment to realise annual socio-economic targets is one of the key tasks in the year’s final months. The target is to disburse 95 to 100 per cent of public investment in 2022. PM Chính ordered ministries and agencies to ensure the efficiency of public investment disbursement and the quality of construction work. The PM also ordered tightening discipline, accelerating land clearance progress, and lifting obstacles in land and natural resources. China considers importing sweet potatoes from Vietnam Le Van Thiet, deputy director of the Plant Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said Vietnamese partners have registered to export sweet potatoes to China via formal trade channels. Nguyen Van Liem, deputy director of the Vinh Long Province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that China had long been a major buyer of Vietnam’s sweet potatoes via border trade. Local sweet potato prices have dropped by VND1,500-2,000 a kilogram to VND5,000-6,000, resulting in losses for farmers, Liem said. Sweet potato cultivation areas have shrunk to 750 hectares from 13,000-14,000 hectares. Liem hoped the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would work with the Chinese side to obtain approval for the formal export of sweet potatoes to China. The long vacation suits the convenience of elite lawyers, a microscopic minority,” the petition said.
