Best Travel Fishing Rods 2022 Buyers Guide Wired2Fish
Best Travel Fishing Rods 2022 Buyers Guide Wired2Fish
Best Travel Fishing Rods – 2022 Buyer’s Guide – Wired2Fish https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/best-travel-fishing-rods-2022-buyers-guide-wired2fish/ Choosing a travel rod for anglers who like to pack light and carry a fishing rod in their luggage on every where they travel requires a little planning and view of the options and fish you think you might encounter on your travels. We reviewed a wide gamut of rods and came up with a lot of options to consider as well as some great recommendations for which fishing rods we would suggest for a lot of different types of fishing and travel. Things like size of the rod when disassembled, number of pieces, rod case, roll or bag, type of rod, how you will transport it, whether a telescoping rod makes sense and more need to be considered before choosing the best travel rod for your fishing plans.  Travel rods can come from 2 pieces up to 5 pieces not to mention the telescoping travel rod options out there. You might want to fit the rod in a suitcase, if so more pieces will break down into a smaller foot print. Or you might carry it with you which might give you more options for rods. You might want a hard case to protect the rod if you’re worried about TSA or some other party damaging your rods in transit. Or a rod wrap may suffice if it’s tucked inside of another hard case suitcase. (1 of 20) Know Your Travel Rods Then there are the types of rod to consider including spinning travel rods, casting travel rods, telescoping travel rods as well as travel fly rods or specialty rods like travel swimbait rods or travel trout or panfish rods. Or any combination of the aforementioned.  If you plan to fish with light lures and light line, then a spinning travel rod might be the best option. If you plan to look for big bluegills or crappies specifically on your travels, then a long telescoping rod might make more sense or a small spinning rod like a trout rod might give you a lot of options for trout and panfish. If you’re going for larger quarry, you will want a beefier rod that has a reel that can hold heavier line. Usually a baitcasting travel rod makes sense for bass, or big fish like walleye, pike, musky, stripers, etc.  Specialty rods like travel swimbait rods or extra long jigging rods might be just the ticket for probing unknown waters for specific types of fishing like jigging brush for crappie or casting oversized swimbaits for trophy bass and stripers.  Of course if you’re in to fly fishing, then a travel fly rod is hard to beat. There are some super high end and middle of the road options that are great rods that make a 9-foot fly rod fit into an over night travel bag with the travel fly rod option. CONSIDER TELESCOPING RODS FOR TRAVEL For some, a telescoping rod is an easy spur of the moment travel rod option to probe some nearby waters to see if they have fish available. I have buddies that keep telescoping rods in their trucks at all times and will break it out on their travels or while taking a lunch or after work on a work trip. It’s a quick and simple option. Most of time telescoping rods are a bit lower quality. Or at least that was the case back when the only option was a low end push button spin cast combo for small panfish. There are, however, some newer options bringing this back as a real viable option for bass and panfish. (2 of 20) A Travel Combo Might Make More Sense You can buy travel rods that are a rod and reel combo. This is often the case with telescoping options. But there are some better quality options in the multi-piece travel rods with a decent spinning reel. Most of the time. I want the best rod I can get and a good reel in my bag so I’m not fighting my equipment in the limited amount of time I get to fish on my travels. Especially those spur-of-the-moment unplanned fishing trips while traveling.  But when you get to a location and wished you had a rod and reel, a decent priced telescoping rod/reel combo can get you in the fish on an unexpected hot spot quickly and easily. (3 of 20) You Need a Travel Rod Case, Bag or Roll Anymore your travel rod is going to come in a hard case, a roll or a bag. Regardless you need to take care to protect the pieces of the rod or the rod while it is compartmentalized so it’s not damaged in your travels.  A hard case might be a cloth case with a hard shell inside of it that zips closed on the end and the multiple pieces slide into little sleeves inside of it. Or it might be a hard outer shell with a soft interior that keeps your guides and blank parts protected. These are nice when you plan to carry your travel rods separate from your luggage. Or keep them in a vehicle on your travels. A travel rod roll is just a cloth sleeve with individual pockets for each piece of the blank and then you roll it up with flap that closes on one end and tie it off with the attached ties. These can be nice for putting a rod or two into your other travel bags or a small compartment in your vehicle. A travel bag can be just a cloth bag or a padded foam bag that houses and protects the rod simultaneously. I’m a fan of these as they keep your pieces from falling out as sometimes happens with rolls. And they keep the blank pieces with a bit of added protection. The padded bags are ideal in my opinion.  (4 of 20) Best Travel Rod Brands In the freshwater space, the best travel rod makers are often synonymous with the best rod makers. Makers like Daiwa, Shimano, St. Croix, Megabass, Ark Rods, Fenwick, and others have really solid travel rod options. Others that many don’t know offer travel rods have good options like Favorite, Bass Pro, and BnM Poles.  Here are the travel rod brands we reviewed and liked: Shimano Daiwa St. Croix Megabass Ark Rods Fenwick Sixgill Bass Pro Favorite Fishing B’n’M Poles Ugly Stik Hardy Orvis Having said all that, let’s take a closer look at some of our personal favorites in various travel rod categories. (5 of 20) Best Telescoping Travel Combo Daiwa Travel Combo We chose the Daiwa Travel Combo as the best combo because it comes with a good reel, telescoping rod that is better than most and it’s own sling carry bag that is big enough to put several travel rods and reels in. This combo compacts down to 26 inches making it a perfect option for any trip whether it be in a car or a plane. The rod is a 7-foot, 2-inch Medium power fast action rod. It’s a solid rod and stayed extended as we fished with it. The reel is a 2-bearing Daiwa Crossfire LT 2500. Even though it’s only 2 bearings, it performed very smoothly and effortlessly with a very smooth drag. It’s a solid spinning combo and it’s offered in EVA or Cork grips. The combo costs $149 but if you just want a good combo without messing around with pairing rods and reels, this is a quick easy choice. Buy at TackleWarehouse (6 of 20) Best Travel Rod for Bass Shimano Zodias Travel Rod The fact that Shimano took one of their best rod lines and converted it into a high-end bass travel rod got me excited. And when I got the new rod in my hand, I was very impressed. I am a big fan of the original Zodias line and was so excited to see this level of quality in a 5-piece travel rod.  This travel rod condenses down to 19 inches when packed, meaning you can literally take it anywhere. And when full assembled you have a very high quality rod full of all the features of the high end one-piece blanks. The 5-piece construction gives the rod more uniform bend than a 2-piece model would.  It has so much power and a steady consistent load when casting. You will forget it’s a travel rod by your second cast. It’s a high end rod that just happens to be in 5 pieces. It has a CI4+ reel seat for lightweight strength and a full carbon monocoque grip which eliminates the use of EVA giving a light rod more sensitivity. Hi-Power X construction which makes the blanks outermost layer wrapped with carbon tape form that X appearance on the blank that gives more precise actions to the rods with more strength.  You can really lean into fish with this rod without worry. It’s one of the nicest travel rods we’ve tested. Buy from Omnia (7 of 20) Runner Up: Daiwa Ardito Travel Rod This is another high-end rod that has been brought down to a travel rod form factor. This rod comes with a very nice hard case and it breaks down to 30 inches (32 in its case). It features a V-flex ferrule joint system. These ferrules don’t require you to jam the rod pieces all the way together and then struggle to separate them. You simply push them until they snug together and you are all set. You can break down and put the rod together in seconds and be fishing as fast as you can thread your line.  The rod has a high-modulus blank, Fuji Aluminum Oxide guides, unsanded micro-pitch blank, split Eva grip and machined nut hood. It’s a high quality rod that pairs nicely with your favorite bait caster. It comes in 7-foot medium, 7-foot medium heavy and 7-foot, 6-inch medium heavy. Buy at TackleWarehouse (8 of 20) Best All-Around / Saltwater Travel Rod St. Croix Avid Trek rod This is a finely crafted American rod with incredible blanks offering uniform performance, strength and ultra-perceptive sensitivity. The premium cork full grip, and quality blanks featuring St. Croix’s IPC mandrels, SCII high modulus carbon, slim profile ART ferrules, Sea Guide Hero hi-grade guides with zirconia rings and stainless gun smoke frames, sea guide hook keeper, and a 15-year-transferable warranty.  This rod can literally do it all. Going to Louisiana to fish the marshes for bass and redfish, this is your rod. Strong, light, smooth, sensitive and easy to pack. The 3-piece rod is 6-foot, 6-inch MH rod with a lot of power but great castability. This rod is a joy to fish with and you can expect it to last a long time with that kind of warranty. Over And Above Innovation: PandaMR Launches Its Metaverse – Newswire https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/over-and-above-innovation-pandamr-launches-its-metaverse-newswire/ New Metaverse platform starts its journey. Press Release – Oct 9, 2022 21:00 EDT DUBAI, Arab Emirates, October 9, 2022 (Newswire.com) – PandaMR launches its Metaverse, a next-generation platform filled with features to help users get started in the new era of the Internet. It is available in the most user-friendly interface and will be open for any individual or company to establish their presence in the new digital realm. The concept of a metaverse has been relevant since the early 90s as a universal platform for all kinds of activity transferred into the virtual realm. Today’s metaverses could possibly be the level-up of the Internet with features that we need but don’t realize yet.  PandaMR’s metaverse is a web- and mobile-based platform. Right now, there are four main directions that the company is concentrating on: Business, Art, Education and Entertainment. The goal is to provide an adequate environment for each of these industries and develop tools that are necessary for these industries to stay in the Metaverse for a long time.  PandaMR positions itself as the “guide” for businesses to navigate through the Metaverse.   In the dedicated “Business Bay,” companies can organize onboarding and hiring processes, have internal meetings, plan corporate gatherings, hold conferences, and more. Thus, companies can stay one step ahead of the competition with little effort thanks to their future-proof investment in the metaverse experience. The “Education Hub” enables educational entities to establish virtual learning environments for engaging sessions.  For creative people, in just a few easy steps, the Art District provides artists with every chance to display their works.  “Many companies and individuals have heard about Metaverse, nevertheless most of them need additional guidance to make their first steps into the digital realm. We do the hard work of educating businesses and communities on how to get value from using metaverse solutions, and we do this with great enthusiasm and creativity,” said Vahe Khachatryan, Commercial Director at PandaMR. One may find an abundance of complex currencies which could be overwhelming. The NFT market and cryptocurrency sectors will be an option for PandaMR, with a lot of emphasis on diversifying payment methods and smoothing user experience. PandaMR extends a warm welcome to all newcomers and asks partners and metaverse aficionados to join efforts to build a Metaverse community that will be the driving engine for developing virtual solutions. Mad Moneys Jim Cramer Wants Crypto Investors To Bet Against Him I Have Done This For 42 Years Featured Bitcoin News Bitcoin News
Mad Money’s Jim Cramer Wants Crypto Investors To Bet Against Him — ‘I Have Done This For 42 Years’ – Featured Bitcoin News – Bitcoin News https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/mad-moneys-jim-cramer-wants-crypto-investors-to-bet-against-him-i-have-done-this-for-42-years-featured-bitcoin-news-bitcoin-news/ The host of Mad Money, Jim Cramer, has challenged crypto investors to bet against him. “You do not do this for 42 years and lose money every year,” he said. His statement followed a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for “Inverse Cramer ETF.” Jim Cramer to Crypto Investors: Bet Against Me The host of CNBC’s Mad Money show, Jim Cramer, challenged cryptocurrency investors to bet against him in a tweet Friday. Cramer is a former hedge fund manager who co-founded Thestreet.com, a financial news and literacy website. While discussing the Advanced Micro Devices stock (Nasdaq: AMD), he wrote: “As always I welcome people betting against me. I have done this for 42 years. Those who know me know that you would have been betting against Apple at $5, Google since inception, Meta at $18, Amazon at $10, Nvidia at $25, and AMD at $5. I welcome all comers.” Cramer then followed up with another tweet about crypto. Noting that he bought a farm with his bitcoin profits and a boat with ether gains, the Mad Money host proceeded to challenge crypto investors: “I want you to bet against me. You do not do this for 42 years and lose money every year.” Many people have been attacking Cramer for making recommendations that resulted in losing trades. Last year, he praised Ark Investment Management CEO Cathie Wood just before her flagship fund plummeted. He also tweeted a buy recommendation for AMC Entertainment Holdings just before the stock plunged 30%. The Mad Money host also said in April last year: “We like Coinbase to $475.” At the time of writing, Coinbase Global (Nasdaq: COIN) is trading at $67. ‘Inverse Cramer ETF’ Prospectus Filed With SEC Cramer’s tweets followed a prospectus filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by Tuttle Capital Management for two exchange-traded funds (ETFs) — Inverse Cramer ETF and Long Cramer ETF. The filing explains: The Inverse Cramer ETF (the ‘Fund’) seeks to provide investments results that are approximately the opposite of, before fees and expenses, the results of the investments recommended by television personality Jim Cramer. Tuttle Capital Management also previously launched an ETF betting against Cathie Wood’s stock picks. Cramer became a fan of bitcoin in 2020 after he spoke with crypto investor and entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano, who convinced him to buy some BTC. The Mad Money host then began advising investors to put 5% of their portfolios in bitcoin. However, concerns over the Chinese bitcoin mining crackdown, ransomware attacks, and tether (USDT) made him dump his BTC for ether in June last year. A few months later, he begged crypto investors to take profits. In October, he said he invested in crypto because “there could be millions of greater fools out there.” In June this year, he said bitcoin could fall to $12,000 and in August, he recommended avoiding crypto and other speculative investments altogether. Digital Divide Reveals Tech Disparities Along Racial Lines In Westchester – The Examiner News https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/digital-divide-reveals-tech-disparities-along-racial-lines-in-westchester-the-examiner-news/ Westchester Children’s Association Executive Director Allison Lake addressed local politicians, students, and representatives from various organizations in the county at an Oct. 4 news conference that addressed the digital divide at Pace University in Pleasantville. Low-income communities in Westchester, particularly people of color, are disproportionately harmed by having far less broadband access, a newly-published survey revealed. The Westchester Children’s Association (WCA) partnered with Pace University to produce the “Digital Access Survey: Perceptions of Parents in K-12 Schools in Westchester County, New York.” The results were released at an Oct. 4 news conference hosted by Pace University in Pleasantville. The survey was conducted both online and in person, tapping into community partners such as libraries, youth bureaus, family medical centers, and other organizations. The survey asked how many students and families had access to electronic devices and internet options, possessed digital literacy, engaged in digital communication, and had experiences with remote learning. Using a wide variety of demographics, there were 511 responses from Westchester parents and guardians. Nearly three-quarters of respondents – 73 percent – completed the survey in English and 27 percent in Spanish. The survey identifies a need for digital literacy training for families and students with English as a second language. Glaring disparities in digital access surfaced during the pandemic when students needed online access for remote learning. “Today we have lessons learned from the pandemic,” WCA Executive Director Allison Lake said as she addressed elected officials, students, and organizational directors filling the multipurpose room at the Kessel Student Center. “The genie is not going back in the bottle, and there is work we have to do to include digital equity access and inclusion for all Westchester residents,” Lake added. Raphael Ceara said he never owned or knew how to operate a computer until he took a class at the STEM Alliance, a Larchmont nonprofit organization that teaches STEM subjects and basic computer and technology skills. “I learned simple things like getting e-mail and how to attach documents,” Ceara said. “I am very appreciative of the class.” The WCA/Pace survey, authored by Sydney Moraitis, a graduate student working on her master’s in public administration, and Dr. Gina Scutelnicu-Todoran, a Pace associate professor, revealed that 31 percent of the respondents believed technology made their child’s learning more difficult and 27 percent experienced stress due to technology at least once a week. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest data, almost 25,000 households in Westchester County have no internet service, and nearly 14 percent of people making $75,000 or less do not have an internet subscription. The WCA/Pace survey found that 54 percent of participants spent between $50 and $99.99 per month on internet access. “We know there are almost 90,000 low-income people here in Westchester County, and of those that completed the survey, only 1 percent knew about government-funded affordability programs for digital access,” Lake said. “We know that there is federal and state funding coming down the pike, and we want to position Westchester to be ready to take advantage of the new funding and the supports that are there.” Lake said the newly-formed Digital Inclusion Coalition, which consists of the WCA, Pace, the STEM Alliance, and the Westchester Library Association, will be asking county officials to provide $125,000 in the 2023 Westchester County budget to establish a leadership position at the county level for digital equity, inclusion, and access. “That person would support the coalition that has already been started and help plan a county-wide digital equity summit to have more people at the table,” she said. Attending the news conference were county legislators MaryJane Shimsky (D-Dobbs Ferry) and Colin Smith (D-Peekskill) and staff members representing County Legislator Chris Johnson (D-Yonkers) and Assemblyman Chris Burdick (D-Bedford). “This is one of the most critical things we are doing right now,” Shimsky said. “It’s very hard to look for a job or do a job without access to the internet or to see how well your children are doing at school without the internet. Increasingly the digital divide is what defines the rich from the poor.”

Davidson County To Commemorate Bicentennial With Community Celebrations – Lexington Dispatch https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/davidson-county-to-commemorate-bicentennial-with-community-celebrations-lexington-dispatch/ How many people know that a B-52 bomber crashed near Denton in Davidson County in 1961? Or that in 1901 the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West traveling rodeo was in a train wreck near Linwood, seriously injuring its star Annie Oakley and killing Bill Cody’s favorite horse. And that on more than one occasion, people were killed in a shootout on Main Street in Lexington in 1895.  These are the kinds of events and historical locations that are the focus of the celebration for the 200th anniversary of Davidson County, which will culminate in a community bash on Nov. 12 at the Davidson County Fairgrounds. There will also be an unveiling of the Charters of Freedom monument in uptown Lexington on Oct. 27.  Want to know more about what is happening in Davidson County? Over the past year, the Davidson County Bicentennial Committee has been coordinating a series of programs and events to celebrate the 200 years since the signing of the charter establishing Davidson County.   Debbie Harris, spokesperson for the Davidson County Bicentennial Committee, said given the importance of the anniversary of the county, they wanted to stress the multifaceted history of the county.  “It’s the birthday of the county and we really wanted to do some big events to celebrate,” said Harris. “Our main goal is education; educating our citizens on the history of Davidson County. I have learned so much I didn’t know by just sitting on the committee.”  As part of the celebrations, the bicentennial committee has organized bus tours of historical buildings and locations; touring performances of a comedic play written by Davidson County librarian Jason Roland titled, “Pigs, Chairs & Small Town Squares (The Complete History of Davidson County in 82 Minutes), historical lectures on everything from the origins of barbecue to running moonshine and special bicentennial brews to be offered at some local taverns.  The Davidson County Historical Museum will also be opening a permanent exhibit dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Davidson County in November.  On Oct. 27 at 11 a.m., the county will hold an unveiling of the Charters of Freedom monument at the square in uptown Lexington.  More:Davidson County to replace statue in uptown Lexington with replica of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution The monument is a three-part replica that consists of the Declaration of Independence, four pages of the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights as displayed in the National Archives, in Washington, D.C.  Harris said there will be a ceremony to unveil the project, including remarks by local dignitaries and government officials, a local high school band; presentation of the flag by a local JROTC and a miniature replica cannon salute.  There will also be a time-capsule included in the project, which could include pieces of the city’s original well which was uncovered during construction of the monument.  A couple of weeks later Nov. 12, there will be a community event, The Bicentennial Bash, at the Davidson County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  More:What’s Happening: Play to test your knowledge of Davidson County, 200 years of history “We wanted something to bring the community together to celebrate this big anniversary,” said Harris. “We also wanted it to be all inclusive, to represent all the towns and cities in the county.”  Harris said there will be displays from multiple civic organizations, characters in period costumes, presentations from local historians and community leaders, as well as historical videos, photos and displays. There will also be food trucks, a petting zoo and inflatables. The event is free of charge.  For more information on these and other events, go to www.co.davidson.nc.us/1023/Davidson-County-Bicentennial

Can We Stem The Mental Health Tide During A Cost-Of-Living Crisis? Independent Education Today
Can We Stem The Mental Health Tide During A Cost-Of-Living Crisis? Independent Education Today
Can We Stem The Mental Health Tide During A Cost-Of-Living Crisis? – Independent Education Today https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/can-we-stem-the-mental-health-tide-during-a-cost-of-living-crisis-independent-education-today/ I read two articles recently that left a feeling of helplessness and bewilderment, but also a sense of opportunity. The first was an article by Dr Alex George that stated there had been “enough referrals to children and young people’s mental health services (CAMHS) for children and young people to fill Wembley Stadium in May 2022 alone”. The second came from the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy with similarly grim headlines stating “66% of therapists have reported that the cost-of-living crisis was causing a further decline in the mental health of their clients and 49% reported their clients had already stopped activities such as gym memberships and sports club memberships”. Covid has had a significant impact here, but the cost-of-living crisis is only going to exacerbate these issues and the education sector is going to face the brunt of this with more children arriving in school cold, hungry, and anxious. Already we are seeing a tightening of household budgets on those things that matter most during childhood such as sports clubs, trips and the equipment young people need for a positive school experience. We are seeing a mental health system overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of children being referred for support through increased stress and anxiety disorders and adverse childhood experiences. The basic physical and mental health needs of children are not being met and the situation is only going to get worse. All the things valued by families and children which supports their development, health and education is being eroded. So, now you can see why this might bring up feelings of helplessness…what really can we do to stem this tide? And how did we get to this point as a country where we have children growing up without their basic needs being met so they can be healthy and thrive? However, I do sense an opportunity here. I was reading these articles to better inform the work we do at the Youth Sport Trust to ensure every child has a foundation of positive physical and mental health and it brought me back to the first conundrum, prevention versus cure. Prevention versus cure I believe that schools have an opportunity to help stem the tide of mental health issues by continuing or starting to provide the formal and informal curriculum opportunities that support children’s physical and mental health. We have seen schools implementing programmes such as Active in Mind, a fully funded programme harnessing the strategies of physical activity and lifestyle behaviours to help young people improve mood, reduce anxiety and regulate emotions. This year, schools that have taken the Active in Mind approach have seen: 71% coping better 68% feeling more positive overall 61%more confident 64%more relaxed These students were at risk of mental health disorders and likely to be receiving pastoral support.  Some may have been referred to CAMHS had it not been for their involvement in this type of programme. Boy climbing up wall Harnessing the power of sport The second conundrum is about the place of sport and play and how we harness its power. If it is so important in supporting every child’s right to good health; how do we use this ‘power’ if it isn’t provided, or children haven’t got access to it? If families can’t afford to provide PE kit, pay for sports clubs, or play activities, then those children in our poorest communities will stay inactive and further exacerbate their mental health issues, along with affecting their wider development and education. With growing inequalities around things like mental health we need to give every child access to sport and play, and school is the place to start. We can harness this power to prevent the growing mental health wave from crashing over us all, but the only way we can do this is by reducing the barriers to access and creating opportunities for every child to engage. My final reflection on this topic brings me back to my passion project; Boys Move. When working with some boys on the things that affected their mental health, they were very clear. The things they identified as important to them were, friendships, happiness, family, and having fun. On the other side, they identified feelings of frustration, depression, were worried about bullying and ‘straighteners’, stress, body image and money. However, the one issue that came up repeatedly was ‘anger’. Feelings of anger and not being able to control it, especially when feeling frustrated in school and with experiences in their family. Although the anger and frustration these young people were feeling may be the symptom of any number of issues, the number one issue they spoke about related to poverty. Physical Education and sport have the potential and flexibility to teach young people more than sport-based skills. Done well, they can develop a wide range of pro-social character traits – empathy, integrity, teamwork, collaboration, perseverance. It also provides opportunities to reflect on, identify and control strong emotions. In my opinion, PE is one of the only subjects where pupil voice can truly be heard and directly contributes to the prevention of mental health issues. I do believe there are things schools can do that are within their gift to stem the tide and I do think the desperate situation we find ourselves in with children’s mental health presents an opportunity to think differently about how we tackle the issue of prevention versus cure. Yes, we absolutely need to ensure every child is warm and fed! I also accept schools cannot control this or be accountable for this. But they can be responsible for doing all the things that support good health within the policy and curriculum framework they have, and that starts with every school providing opportunities for every child to move. Let’s not take this away from them, when there are millions of children that need it right now.  Youth Sport Trust’s fully funded programmes Active in Mind, and Boys Move To find out more about the  IET World Mental Health campaign

Celtics Injury Update: Luke Kornet ‘ Back At Practice Today Participating In Non-Contact Drills’ – Yahoo Sports https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/celtics-injury-update-luke-kornet-back-at-practice-today-participating-in-non-contact-drills-yahoo-sports/ The Boston Celtics have been leaning heavily on their big man camp invitees to get through their slate of four preseason exhibition games, which is probably not a bad thing for the team given their need to shore up their frontcourt rotation in the wake of several injuries to key bigs. With starting center Robert Williams III likely out until sometime in December and veteran swingman Danilo Gallinari a scratch for the regular season or longer, news that injured big man Luke Kornet was back in practice on Sunday per interim head coach Joe Mazzulla, according to an update from the team. Kornet is expected to have first crack at covering for Timelord and Gallinari’s absence, so when he sprained his ankle in training camp, it likely added to the team’s impetus to sign veteran big man Blake Griffin for some additional depth. The Vanderbilt product could conceivably return as soon as Friday’s final preseason tilt against the Toronto Raptors on Friday, but should be on a timetanle to return in time for Boston’s season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, the 18th. UGreen PD200W GaN Charger Review Absolute Geeks
UGreen PD200W GaN Charger Review Absolute Geeks
UGreen PD200W GaN Charger Review – Absolute Geeks https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/ugreen-pd200w-gan-charger-review-absolute-geeks/ Smartphones these days don’t come with the chargers in the box. This means that most people need to get a new charger. Imagine if you could have a hub that charges all your devices. That’s where the UGREEN PD200W 6-Port GaN USB-C Charger comes in. Ports and Device support The PD200W comes with 4 USB-C ports and 2 USB-A ports. This means you can theoretically charge upto 6 devices at a time.  Each port is labeled as you can see in the picture. C1 to C4 for the USB-C ports and A1 & A2 for the USB-A ports. It’s actually quite simple and is important for choosing the right port for the right device. More on this below. Who has 6 phones lying around? Even for a family of 4 that’s a bit of stretch. The cool thing with the PD200W is that it can charge your MacBook as well as your tablets. The total power output of this GaN charger is 200W. That doesn’t mean each port has that limit. Here is the breakdown of the max output per port: C1/C2: 100W max C3/C4: 65W max A1/A2: 22.5W Max That’s not all, this handy device also supports the following charging standard: PD 3.0/2.0, PPS, QC4+(QC4.0/QC3.0), SCP, FCP, AFC, APPLE 5V2.4A, BC1.2 You can see which ones apply to your devices and celebrate the joy of not having to buy separate adapters per device. You can check out the complete list of supported devices on the product page here:  https://amzn.to/3LHSTsA What’s in the Box The UGREEN PD200W comes with the following: UGREEN PD200W 200W USB C Charger 2m Detachable Power Cord 1m 100W USB C to C Cable x 1 Not only do you get to replace 6 chargers in one go, you also get a USB-C cable in the box. The true genius in the design here is that the power cable is detachable. Which means if you are traveling to a country with a different power socket, you can just get a wire that suits that, no need to carry a multiplug or extension cord. How is the UGREEN PD200W? In terms of design, I have always been a fan of UGREEN’s design. They have taken boring, mundane, devices that are meant to be hidden away and make them look sleek and elegant while also keeping them understated. After all, you don’t want to actually “see” these devices. Brilliant all around. In terms of usability, this one is a no-brainer. The fact that they even thought of using a removable power cable is brilliant industrial design. For me personally this adds a great deal of flexibility. I can easily hide the charger under my desk in the drawer, and route the cables nicely, only 1 cable going to the power outlet, and the rest all run through my drawers. A beautiful solution to wire management. Another advantage is that you can easily disconnect the PD200W and take it on a trip. It also means that if the power cable fails, you don’t need to replace the whole device. Sadly when connecting an Apple Watch, you can’t use the other USB-A port, as this causes the Apple watch to disconnect. It’s a small issue, but hey it’s still 1 charger to charge them all. What is GaN? If you are wondering what GaN is, then this next section is for you. GaN stands for Gallium nitride. It has quickly become the leading material used in chargers from some of the top brands that make fast, long lasting and efficient chargers. One of the main advantages of GaN is that it is far more efficient at generating and transmitting electricity. This produces less heat than traditional chargers, leading to two immediate benefits. First is that components should generally last longer, less heat means less potential damage. Secondly, less heat means parts can be packed closer together, which is why you can get a 6 port 200W charger in this relatively small package. The Ugreen PD200W 200w charger claims to increase power consumption rate of 95% with the GaN II technology, which means less power wastage. Other Specs: The 6 port PD200W weighs 518g, which isn’t light, but given that it saves you from carrying 6 chargers (including your laptop charger) it more than makes up for it. The dimensions are: 10.08cm x 10.08xm with a height of 3.23cm. The exact model of this review is 40913. Summary We can highly recommend the UGreen PD200W GaN 200w 6port USB-C charger. The number of devices it supports along with the smart design choices means it is a no-brainer for someone who has multiple devices and wants a clean setup. If you’re looking to change your chargers, this is one of the best devices for the job. Dollar Climbs As Case For U.S. Rate Hikes Firms – Reuters.com https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/dollar-climbs-as-case-for-u-s-rate-hikes-firms-reuters-com/ Strong U.S. jobs and high CPI f’cast strengthen hike bets Aussie touches 2-1/2 yr low below $0.64 Sterling under renewed pressure China markets to return from week-long break SYDNEY, Oct 10 (Reuters) – The dollar started the week firmly on Monday, with a strong U.S. labour market reinforcing bets on higher interest rates as traders braced for data expected to show stubbornly high inflation. U.S. unemployment unexpectedly fell last month, Friday figures showed, and inflation data due on Thursday is forecast to show headline inflation at a hot 8.1% year-on-year. Policymakers’ preferred core inflation is seen rising to 6.5%. Westpac strategist Sean Callow said the data and rising yields in response was a “robust combination for the dollar.” Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com “It’s further evidence that the U.S. economy is not cratering,” he said. “It just feeds into the notion that the Fed is going to spend the next three weeks saying the same thing about interest rates.” Climbing oil prices and geopolitical tension also provided plenty of reasons for nervousness about growth, weighing on energy-importer currencies in Europe and even on exporters such as the growth-sensitive Australian dollar. The Aussie fell 0.3% to a 2-1/2 year low of $0.6347 in early trade in Asia that was thinned by a holiday in Japan. Sterling fell 0.2% to $1.1071, while the yen was drifting into a zone on the weaker side of 145 per dollar that prompted authorities’ intervention to support it last month. The yen was last at 145.37 per dollar. The New Zealand dollar touched a two-week low of $0.5593. Futures pricing suggests traders see a nearly 90% chance of a 75 basis point rate hike in the United States next month and more than 150 bps of tightening by May. Ten-year Treasury yields rose for a tenth straight week last week. Benchmark Brent crude futures jumped more than 11% last week after the Saudi-led production cartel agreed to cut supply, while intensifying war in Ukraine is also a threat to Europe’s energy security as winter approaches. The euro fell below $0.98 on Friday and was last at $0.9733. The U.S. dollar index was steady at 112.83, off lows around 110 last week and creeping back toward last month’s 20-year high of 114.78. Markets were waiting to see how the Kremlin might respond to a blast that hit Russia’s only bridge to Crimea. Nuclear-armed North Korea made a seventh recent missile test over the weekend. Chinese markets reopen after a week-long holiday, and ahead of that the offshore yuan was steady at 7.1310 per dollar. The Communist Party’s 20th National Congress opens on Sunday and is expected to reaffirm Xi Jinping’s leadership. Services activity in China shrank for the first time since May in September, disappointing expectations. “The yuan will likely trade between 7.0 and 7.2 in the near term,” said Scotiabank strategist Qi Gao. ======================================================== Currency bid prices at 2304 GMT All spots Tokyo spots Europe spots Volatilities Tokyo Forex market info from BOJ Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com Reporting by Tom Westbrook. Pacific Island Fiji Aims For A High-Tech Future – Bbc.com https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/pacific-island-fiji-aims-for-a-high-tech-future-bbc-com/ Image caption, Fiji businessman Truman Bradley says the country needs to build its tech sector By Suranjana Tewari Asia Business Correspondent “Everyone wants to invest in Fiji right now.” That’s the view of entrepreneur Truman Bradley, who owns seven businesses in the Pacific Island country. He cites its location as an appealing factor. “We have access to North America, we have access to Asia, we have access to Australia and New Zealand,” he says. The last six years have been particularly difficult for Fiji, though. In 2016, the worst storm recorded in the southern hemisphere – Cyclone Winston – tore across the region, killing dozens of people and forcing tens of thousands more from their homes. It was a stark reminder that as climate change warms the world’s oceans, the Pacific is particularly vulnerable to extreme weather events. Then came Covid-19. With borders closed and lockdowns imposed, Fiji’s thriving tourist industry – one of the main pillars of the economy – was all but shut down, while lucrative seafood and agricultural exports ground to a halt. Image source, Getty Images Image caption, In December last year Fiji welcomed its first international visitors for 21 months At the same time, Pacific Island states like Fiji are also having to navigate escalating competition between the US and China for influence in the region, with both countries offering loans, aid and security. In response, Australia and New Zealand have ramped up involvement in the region too. Many in Fiji agree that now is the time for the country to diversify away from traditional industries and tourism, in order to protect its economy. Mr Bradley says the answer is to invest in sectors like technology and business services, such as call centres. And thankfully, he says there is a lot of interest. He is speaking to the BBC at his office in the capital Suva, which is located in an old wooden house overlooking the city. His companies range from selling furniture to developing phone apps. Among the latter is a subscription-based weather app called NaDraki, which provides forecasts and climate information to the Fiji government, businesses and members of the public. The app also has a chat service whereby subscribers can speak directly to a weather forecaster for more specific information. Image caption, Truman Bradley’s weather app is widely used in Fiji Mr Bradley’s most recent venture is a forthcoming travel app called Bula Fiji, which translates as “welcome Fiji”. It will allow holidaymakers to book flights, accommodation and activities all in one place. Looking forward, Mr Bradley hopes that building a larger tech sector in Fiji will mean that more university graduates are able to stay and work in the country rather than leaving to work abroad. Fiji’s main university, the University of the South Pacific, is the premier institution in the region. Top students travel from across Fiji and other Pacific Island nations go there to study. But after they complete their degrees there has traditionally been a brain drain, with many leaving for more developed economies like Australia and New Zealand in search of better job opportunities. “We have a university here that’s creating graduates, and they’re not really finding where they fit [in Fiji],” says Mr Bradley, who was previously head of Fiji’s foreign investment office. “So then they all leave. Why can’t we work with those graduates, and then try and enable them to build applications and opportunities?” Image caption, Many of Fiji’s university students traditionally leave the country after graduating Rabih Yazbek, head of Fiji at Australian multinational banking group ANZ, says: “Fiji is benefiting from all the attention coming into the region at the moment. “I think it’s pretty uniquely placed within the Pacific, it just geographically happens to be the centre of many of the Pacific Islands,” he adds. “It’s got a really well-educated young workforce. It’s also got excellent internet connectivity.” New Tech Economy is a series exploring how technological innovation is set to shape the new emerging economic landscape. That internet is a real benefit to the country and the neighbouring islands. Most of the undersea internet cables in the region run out from Fiji. These attributes have helped outsourced call centres take off in Fiji. ANZ uses these call centres for credit card processing, lending operations, payments and account functions. Other businesses are using these call centres for customer sales. Image caption, Fiji now has a growing number of call centres Mr Yazbek says the fact that local workers have a good command of English will help the industry grow. And like India and the Philippines, the call centres are proving to be a stepping stone for the evolution of a wider technology sector. Sanjesh Kumar, director at Fiji cloud computing provider Acton, certainly believes that is the case. The firm has overseas customers in Australia, New Zealand and even as far as Canada. “I think the time is absolutely right for local companies to be at the forefront, and actually realise what applied technology can do,” he says. Image source, Sanjesh Kumar Image caption, Sanjesh Kumar says Fiji is well placed to grow its tech sector He adds that the modelling of climate change is an example of something that could be done well from Fiji given its location. “The variations in temperature and then sea level rises and greenhouse emissions… we’re at the forefront of all of those things,” he says. “[And] we can do it a lot more efficiently today, we can share information a lot quicker.” Mr Yazbek also sees potential in Fiji’s traditional industries. While the country has historically relied on sugar cane, which remains its fourth-largest export by value, he says that ginger and turmeric have room to expand to new markets. Mr Yazbek adds that Kava – a local social drink made from the root or stump of the kava shrub – could be marketed far more widely than it currently is. Image source, Getty Images Image caption, Fiji’s enduring popularity with holidaymakers is not difficult to understand Meanwhile, fish is the third-largest natural resource to be exported from Fiji. The country’s fisheries minister wants to see more investment in processing facilities in the country. “The Pacific Islands should process their own resources,” says Semi Tuleca Koroilavesau. “That will give maximum benefit and return to the people. Not only in dollar bills, but also in employment opportunities. “The benefits are bigger than just allowing other countries to come and fish, and taking away and processing in their own countries.” The ingredients for a promising future seem to be available in Fiji. Using them to diversify the economy will be crucial to ensure that the country can protect itself from the effects of climate change, and to give its young educated workforce a reason to stay.

Davis15 REC, 261 YD, 2 TDS See New Posts Pinned This game belongs to the Jets. 40-17 now after the Braxton Berrios run.  Pinned Pinned The Dolphins had a very creative play call on fourth and 1. A fullback handoff, and he pitched it to Mostert. You can’t even blame the call, that was all Jets defense. Great pursuit, they were all over it.  Pinned It’s great to see first-round pick Quinnen Williams come up with a big play. Thompson fumbles (First Miami fumble lost all year) and now the Jets are about to extend their lead.  Pinned 7 plays, 56 yards and seven points. The Jets now have a nine-point lead. Michael Carter has two touchdowns, but Breece Hall has been the story. 78 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards on 2 targets.  Pinned OH NO. A missed 54-yard field goal. That feels like a pretty significant moment. Dolphins remain down 2 points, but this defense has been stout.  43 yards, 6 plays. Missed FG from Jets’ 36-yard line.  Pinned We had just three points scored in the third quarter after 28 scored in the second quarter. Wonder how much more scoring we will get. Both offenses not exactly balling out. Penalties are sparking drives now.  Pinned Anytime you go deep on fourth and 1 is very weird. Is Skylar Thompson about to out-duel Zach Wilson? Pinned Dolphins have now gone 10 plays on 47 yards. Drive has felt like an eternity. Nothing really going. Field goal unit coming out.  Pinned Expect Miami to rely on Mostert a ton in this second half.  Pinned Durham Smythe with a one-yard rush touchdown rush on a play the Chiefs ran last week against the Bucs. 19-14 now. It really feels like the Jets have momentum, but this game is far from over.  Pinned Six seconds before halftime. Dolphins going for it on second and goal down 19-7.  Pinned What’s really stood out to me so far apart from Sauce Gardner is Raheem Mostert. He has 74 yards rushing right now!  Pinned SAUCE GARDNER. He should be the favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year no respect to Devin Lloyd. Two HUGE plays today. Kid is a baller.  Pinned Dolphins! 8 plays, 75 yards. Mike McDaniel is having to get creative with some of these play calls with a third-stringer. It worked on that drive. Keep an eye on the running backs here. 12-7 Jets.  Pinned Breece Hall catch-and-run goes for 79 YARDS. Dolphins defense had no interest in tackling him.  Pinned A three-and-out on Thompson’s second drive. A screen went nowhere, and a five-yard completion on third and seven wasn’t enough. Big opportunity for the Jets here.  Pinned Jets put together their best drive of the game. 56 yards on seven plays. Ends on a 34-yard field goal to push the lead to five points. More than half of those yards came from penalties.  Pinned Dolphins go 5 plays, 33 yards before they have to punt. I really do like Skylar Thompson though. I want to see if he’s going to settle in. While it’s early, I think a storyline we are passing over is that the Jets’ offense has been bad. Let’s see if they can pick up more than one first down this drive.  Pinned Pinned Pinned Dang we really have Skylar Thompson vs. Zach Wilson today. Unreal. Thompson was a stud in the preseason. Read more here: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/dolphins-mike-mcdaniel-may-be-forced-to-keep-skylar-thompson-as-third-qb-hes-made-it-tough-hasnt-he/ Pinned Dolphins defense shows up! Jets forced to punt after another four-play drive. I’m keeping an eye on this offensive line through the afternoon.  Pinned Pinned Wow the Jets are so juiced today. Safety to start the game and now great field position thanks to Braxton Berrios.  Pinned First offensive play for the Dolphins and they get a safety! Unreal. Intentional grounding is definitely a weird call. Almost looked like a fumble.  I don’t care if the arm is going forward, Bridgewater didn’t have possession of the ball. Pinned Pinned Sauce Gardner shows up! He’s been lockdown this year and it feels like we aren’t talking enough about him. What a big hit on Bridgewater to start the game.  Pinned Pinned See More

It is an amazing experience to see how this technology can be utilized in a baseball space; I’m very excited about how the future will look with this technology and incorporate it into a game!” — Aaron Schneider | LSA Head Baseball Coach HOUSTON, TEXAS, USA, October 9, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Marcus Cantu is the first high school baseball player to use holographic teleportation. Cantu was holographically teleported into the Coach’s office, and the coach could coach him remotely. Cantu and his coach Mr. Schneider used Aexa’s novel technology, “Holoconnect,” which allows users to project as a three-dimensional hologram into a remote location. Aexa’s technology was used for the first time in October 2021, when NASA flight surgeon Dr. Josef Schmid, industry partner AEXA Aerospace CEO Fernando De La Pena Llaca and their teams were the first humans “holographically teleported” from Earth into space. Aexa plans to release this technology during the last quarter of 2022 as a low-cost universal solution. Aexa will launch the technology under Aexa Tech, and the Holoconnect will be available for any Mixed Reality, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Smart glasses, Smartphones, and Tablets. The goal is to provide holographically teleportation technology to any consumer by allowing them to use devices they currently have. That way, the technology will be available to help to provide coaching to sports players in any remote area. This technology will also be used for engineering, education, and medical purposes. Elly Awesome Apple Watch Ultra Review: Design Features Battery Life Price | News.com.au Australias Leading News Site News.com.au
Elly Awesome Apple Watch Ultra Review: Design, Features, Battery Life, Price | News.com.au — Australia’s Leading News Site – News.com.au https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/elly-awesome-apple-watch-ultra-review-design-features-battery-life-price-news-com-au-australias-leading-news-site-news-com-au/ REVIEW Apple has brought out a seriously rugged smartwatch called the Apple Watch Ultra, which boasts up to 60 hours of battery life, with its new low power mode. Could this be the perfect Apple Watch for explorers, adventurers or even the every day Apple Watch user? Design The Apple Watch Ultra is a cellular smartwatch that comes in one colour – titanium. It reminds me of Apple’s starlight colour, which presents as a colour that’s between silver and gold. Titanium is also the material the watch is made out of so that the Ultra is lightweight, rugged and resistant to corrosion. And depending on the watch band you choose, the Ultra can have a totally different look. There are three all new watch bands made for the Ultra – the alpine loop, trail loop, and ocean band and they’re all unique and made for different scenarios. For example, the ocean band is made of a high performance elastomer, which is great for stretching over a wetsuit and is also secure for high performance water sports. These three bands (that are available in multiple colours) are probably the best bands to choose for this watch, however, I can confirm that ”regular” 45mm watch bands also fit the Apple Watch Ultra. Features Taking a look at the new Apple Watch Ultra, it’s very much a beefed up version of a regular Apple Watch. It’s the largest Apple watch face we’ve seen at 49mm, as opposed to the largest regular Apple Watch which has a display size of 45mm. The sapphire crystal watch face is now completely flat and flush with its titanium casing; there’s no longer a curved display that meets the metal edges. And the new display is the brightest ever in an Apple Watch at 2000 nits, twice as bright compared to any other Apple Watch. This is one of my favourite new features of the watch. The display is so unbelievably clear, and easy to read, even in harsh sunlight. On the left side there’s a refined dual-frequency GPS antenna, that provides more accurate location data for calculating distance, pace, and route maps. There are dual speakers so that audio playback such as Siri and phone calls are louder and easier to hear. There’s a new large, orange coloured ‘Action Button’ which is a customisable button that allows you to instantly start a pre-programmed workout, mark a compass waypoint or you can even press and hold it to activate the new Siren feature. It’s a built-in 86 decibel siren that can be heard up to 180 metres away, which is helpful if you’re lost and are hoping to attract attention. I can confirm it is an impressive feature. There’s also a new depth gauge which provides real time measurements of underwater depths up to 40 metres, making it like a dive computer, and it also includes water temperature readings. Additionally, on the right side there’s a new three-mic array. Through my tests I found that these have seriously improved the microphone’s audio quality, providing clearer audio quality, especially in windy environments. Apple has also raised the side button slightly, and enlarged the digital crown dial and given it coarser grooves to make it easier to use, which is helpful if you have gloves on. So, the entire watch has been through a complete overhaul. And it’s become a swiss army knife on your wrist, with the addition of smart features such as crash detection (which will intelligently alert emergency services if you’re in a car crash), GPS waypoints, and fall detection. Personally, I’m not a big adventurer myself, I’ve never done a triathlon and I’m not an athlete but I love having all of these insane features on my wrist. I feel like Inspector Gadget. I will say though, this watch is a lot chunkier than the regular Apple Watch. And even as someone who enjoys wearing the larger 45mm Apple Watch, it felt a little big for everyday wear. In saying that, it’s only around 10g heavier than the Apple Watch I currently wear, so it’s only a visible difference, and you can barely notice a difference in weight. Battery Life I haven’t been able to test the Ultra’s low power battery mode, which boasts 60 hours of battery life, as it’s coming soon to the Apple Watch Ultra as an update. For now, I’ve been able to use the watch for almost two days straight, whereas the regular watch only lasts around a day. However, the Apple Watch Ultra with general use, boasts up to 36 hours of battery life, and it has been delightful to not have to charge it as frequently. This also means it can finally track a full triathlon, which was apparently a pain point for athletes and amateur athletes previously. Is it worth it? With the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple has now created a watch that suits a whole new range of people. Endurance athletes, people that partake in water sports, divers, and a range of other unique activities. And although the battery life isn’t going to beat all of the competition when it comes to activity tracking smartwatches, the improved battery life is now enough to last a full triathlon with GPS turned on. The price tag of the Ultra makes more sense for people who are heading out on adventures regularly, and for those that plan to push this watch to its limits. However, if you’re a diehard Apple Watch fan and you value having the best of all battery life, you wear gloves at your work, you need the most durable and waterproof smart watch, with the brightest display, and you like larger watches, this is absolutely the Apple Watch for you. The Apple Watch Ultra retails for $1299. Elly Awesome is an Aussie tech and lifestyle vlogger | @ellyawesometech | YouTube

The past few months in the cryptocurrency industry have been marked with a disturbing number of executive resignations, and OpenSea has just become the latest firm caught in the wave. OpenSea’s CFO resigns The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at OpenSea, Brian Roberts, has stepped down from his position in the NFT marketplace. Roberts joined OpenSea in December 2021, marking ten months of active service in leading and growing the finance team at the largest NFT marketplace.  Well it is time for me to come ashore from the “open seas.” I’m grateful for the opportunity and proud of many accomplishments but none more than the strength of the finance team at OpenSea.” Brian Roberts. Although Roberts ceases to become OpenSea’s CFO, he intends to assume an advisory role at the NFT marketplace. The current Vice President of Finance, Justin Jow, will reportedly take over the wheel as Chief Financial Officer.  “I remain incredibly bullish on web3 and especially OpenSea. The company is heads down building and I assure you, the best is yet to come,” Roberts added. Crypto bear market forces more exec departure Roberts’ departure comes as OpenSea records a significant decrease in market interest and trading volume. According to DappRadar, OpenSea’s monthly volume is currently over 7% to $245 million. Additionally, the number of unique wallet addresses interacting with the protocol has also declined by 4.12% to 258.23k.  Generally, interest in NFTs and cryptocurrencies are currently down owing to the bear market and uncertainties around the global economy. Amidst these events, many cryptocurrency companies have seen their executives resign, including Algorand, Alameda Research, Kraken, Celsius, etc.  In late September, the President of FTX.US Brett Harrison announced his resignation 18 months after joining the exchange. Similar to Roberts, Harrison intends to stay at the exchange as an advisor.  Ibiam Wayas Ibiam is an optimistic crypto journalist. US: BMW Set New Plug-In Car Sales Record In Q3 2022 – InsideEVs https://dentoncountynewsonline.com/us-bmw-set-new-plug-in-car-sales-record-in-q3-2022-insideevs/ The BMW Group (BMW and MINI) reports a slight year-over-year improvement in car sales in the US. During the third quarter, the company sold 85,209 cars (up 4%), although the year-to-date result is still in the red at 249,835 (down 6%). BMW: 78,031 (up 3%) MINI: 7,178 (up 11%) Total: 85,209 (up 4%) In terms of plug-in electric cars, the company reports record results achieved by the BMW brand, which in Q3 sold 10,858 plug-ins (12.7% of the total volume), including 4,337 battery-electric cars (5.1% of the total volume). This includes 1,727 BMW iX, so we guess that the remaining 2,610 BEVs must be BMW i4 (as the BMW i3 was at 0 and there are no other all-electric BMWs on the market). Unfortunately, BMW counts electric and internal-combustion engine 4-series together in its stats. “Increased availability of the battery electric BMW iX Sports Activity Vehicle and BMW i4 Gran Coupe fueled sales growth in all three months of the third quarter.  As a result, the company also set new quarterly benchmarks for both battery electric (4,337) and plug-in hybrid electric deliveries (10,858 BEV & PHEV combined).” The good news is that soon the lineup will be further strengthened by the all-electric flagship BMW i7, which will arrive at dealerships in the US this quarter. BMW plug-in electric car sales: BMW i3: 0 (down 100%, retired) BMW i4: potentially 2,610 (new) BMW i8: 0 (down 100%, retired) BMW iX: 1,727 (new) Total: 10,858 (4,337 BEVs and 6,521 PHEVs) and 12.7% share * only models for which data are available Besides the i-series models, BMW offers also multiple plug-in hybrids, but sales data for those models is not available. On top of that comes the MINI brand and its plug-in hybrid Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 and all-electric MINI CooperSE, but once again, without any info about its sales results. Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO, BMW of North America said: “The customer demand and enthusiasm for BMW’s electric vehicles has been there from the start. With the support of our dealer partners, we expect this momentum to accelerate through the fourth quarter, resulting in a strong finish to the year.” Detailed BMW sales results:
