In this tutorial, I show you how to create a template layer in adobe illustrator. Template layers are locked layers that give you the option to dim the opacity so you can draw or paint over top of them using a new layer. They are very useful for people who want to trace images in particular. Click file new -- create. Now click on file and then place. Place an image of your choice - a .jpg or .png are usually the best choices. Now place the image by left clicking on the document. You can adjust the size of the image by using the selection tool. If you hold down the shift key, it constrains the proportions. Now double click on layer 1 (outside the type) and you will see an option called template. When you left click the template option, you lock the layer and you get to adjust the dim percentage (it defaults to 50%). #adobeillustrator #adobeillustratortrace #howtotraceinillustrator

In this step-by-step overview, learn how to use GIMP. We start with how to download and install GIMP.
