Testing with {testthat}
One of our main projects at Jumping Rivers in the last year has been building the Litmusverse,
a platform for validation. An important component when assessing the quality of code within a package
is the unit tests. In this blog we discuss the main features of the `{testthat}` package, as a
very convenient way for testing R code.

Elevation: The height of the land above sea level significantly impacts construction, drainage, and even microclimates. Higher elevations may offer scenic views but can also pose challenges like steep slopes or unstable soil.
Slope: Steepness can dictate whether a property is suitable for building. A steep slope might make foundation work and construction more expensive. On the other hand, gentle slopes often have fewer engineering challenges but might lack dramatic views.
Terrain Features: Hills, valleys, natural water channels, and other formations add complexity to land development. They may attract buyers who appreciate unique landscapes but also require specialized designs for drainage and structural stability.
Vegetation and Soil Types: Different soil compositions affect load-bearing capacities. Clay soils, for instance, may expand with moisture, posing potential foundation issues. Conversely, well-draining sandy or loamy soils can be more conducive to stable construction.
Standards | Geospatial Metadata — Federal Geographic Data Committee
Metadata is information about data. Similar to a library catalog record, metadata records document the who, what, when, where, how, and why of a data resource. Geospatial metadata describes maps, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) files, imagery, and other location-based data resources. The FGDC is tasked by Executive Order 12906 to enable access (see GeoPlatform.gov) to National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) resources and by OMB Circular A-16 and the A-16 Supplemental Guidance to support the creation, management, and maintenance of the metadata required to fuel data discovery and access.
