The Aerographer from Luiz Zanotello on Vimeo
The Aerographer maps the air to establish a subtle territory. The installation measures the airflow in different locations, and translates their difference to the kinetic motion of an array of nodes. The nodes travel in different axis shifting connected lines, thus unfolding a networked topography of the air in constant change. More info at: http://luizzanotello.com/the-aerographer/

Surface tension lamp (Front) at Bagatti Valsecchi from Robert Andriessen on Vimeo
Surface tension lamp designed by Front A bubble is brief, and bursts at your touch. But while it lasts, it catches the light and reflects the room like a multi-coloured temporary structure. We wanted to create a constantly changing lamp that combines the most ephemeral of lampshades with an LED light source that will last for 50000 hours. In the time it takes the LED to burn out, the lamp will have had 3 million different globe shades. In Collaboration with Loligo www.frontdesign.se

Ripples of Time - Sand from Ayaskan on Vimeo
Within a spacetime continuum, time is perceived as the fourth dimension. The past the present and the future is a whole. Ripples of Time, allow natural materials to be shaped by time, reminding us of its presence. The installation consists of two complimentary clocks; Sand and Water. Sand, inspired by Zen Gardens, is the gradual formation and flattening of a ripple pattern over a period of twelve hour cycles. Water, on the other hand, tells the ephemeral time through concentric circles in the form of endless waves that ripple by the second. It is the landscapes and the cycles found in nature,...

Programmable Wood from Self-Assembly Lab, MIT on Vimeo
Self-Assembly Lab, MIT + Christophe Guberan + Erik Demaine + Autodesk Inc. Project Team: Skylar Tibbits, Christophe Guberan, Athina Papadopoulou, Carrie McKnelly, Chris Martin, Filipe Campos, Hannarae Annie Nam In collaboration with the Institute for Computational Design, University of Stuttgart. Traditional wood-bending techniques require complex steaming equipment, labor-intensive forming processes, and a high degree of expertise. In addition, the natural pattern of wood grain and its physical properties make it difficult to curve into complex shapes. Novel printing and composite materi...

Rain Room by Random International (2012) from RANDOM INTERNATIONAL on Vimeo
Rain Room can be seen as an amplified representation of our environment. Upon entering the installation, visitors are simultaneously exposed to and protected from the water falling all around. Although the sound and smell of the rain are intense, its touch remains absent leaving visitors dry within a continual downpour as they navigate the space. Human presence prevents the rain from falling, creating a unique atmosphere and exploring how human relationships to each other and to nature are increasingly mediated through technology. In Rain Room a seemingly intuitive relationship develops bet...

Polyloge #1 – Hyper-local message feed
Polyloge #1 is an interactive installation and a hyper-local message feed. Through an open WIFI network, users in reach of the wireless signal can send text messages with their smartphones, tablets or computers. These messages get printed immediately on a paper roll that runs in-between two translucent, black boxes and are transformed into a material stream.
