Eponymous Laws Part I: Laws of the Internet
Eponymous Laws Part I: Laws of the Internet
I’ve always been fascinated by the observations, adages, and aphorisms that we (often sarcastically) designate as eponymous laws, effects, or principles. They are often funny (and memorable because of it), but many of them speak to very fundamental features of our psychology and the human condition more generally. Murphy’s Law is probably the most well known example.

Creating typefaces takes time. It’s a delicate process that involves numerous rounds of revisions, decisions and sometimes even abandonment of the whole project. This catalogue functions as an accessible inventory of fonts that are «In Progress»; to start a conversation about their existence and potential in future designs.

As an editorial/commercial photographer from the rugged Pacific Northwest, my work allows me to constantly explore the world and discover new ideas. When I’m not traveling on assignments or fly fishing, nothing makes me happier than slow cooking an all-day batch of Italian-American Sunday Red Sauce at home and sharing it with friends.

How to make a portfolio when your work can't be shared - DESK Magazine
An online portfolio is critical to a designer's success. But what do we do when we work on a confidential project where we’ve signed a non-disclosure agreement? Or what if we worked on something that hasn’t launched yet, but we really love the project and want it on our portfolio now? Or what if the …

Chris Rushing — A new brand for a new era
Chris Rushing — A new brand for a new era
Twenty plus year ago, GoDaddy started selling domain names to help folks establish an online presence. Since then, the internet has changed entrepreneurship forever, and we’ve evolved way beyond just domains. Now we empower everyday entrepreneurs with all the help and tools they need to grow online, and our brand needed to reflect our commitment to entrepreneurs everywhere. We examined every component of our brand in order to create an entirely new design system. To focus our thinking, we developed our Design Ethos, a guiding principle built on four core tenets (Good Design for All, Humanity + Technology, Thoughtfully Creative, Inspire Joy). The work that’s resulted from this design system has consistently resonated with everyday entrepreneurs, demonstrating we’re in their corner while giving them the energy to create.
