802.1q VLAN HOWTO - Ubuntu Forums
802.1q VLAN HOWTO - Ubuntu Forums
Doing 802.1q trunking to an Ethernet switch is really easy. I describe two methods - a text only one for servers, and a GUI one for desktops. The VLAN number that an interface uses always gets appended to the physical interface after a dot, so for instance an interface eth0 using VLAN number 99 would be called eth0.99. The instructions below all assume you want to connect to vlan 99 - change the number as required. Server console method Install the vlan package: sudo apt-get install

[ubuntu] IPv6 on 10.04 via HE Tunnel Broker - Ubuntu Forums
Thought I would make a post in the hopes others will find it useful. :) I finally got around to messing with Hurricane Electric's IPv6 Tunnel Broker service. This is how I got things running on my 10.04 Server with a pfSense FW. 1/ After you request your tunnel from HE time to get things setup. 2/ I added the following to my /etc/network/interfaces file.

After running this script your system will look the same as a fresh install of ubuntu just without all the added

Pardon me if this is not in the right place...noob here to this forum. I have been trying without absolutely no luck whatsoever to install OpenLDAP on absolutely fresh installs of Ubuntu Server 10.04 and 10.10. I have followed every possible HOWTO that can be found on a google search and in the Ubuntu Community and Server Guide pages. Most HOWTO's outside of Ubuntu Community and Server Guides offer a moment to test your configurations and with each test using ssh to the localhost and ssh
