Xie Lian never ascends a third time. Two thousand years later, Hua Cheng finds him anyway.

A viral video sweeps through the internet, which appears to show the 1st disciple of Yunmeng Jiang take on a full nest of evil beings in an attempt to protect five juniors from his sect. The unscheduled livestream captures everyone's attention, but there has to be more there than meets the eye.

The Lan assign their own 1st disciple, Lan Wangji, to investigate. That investigation will take him years into the future and miles away from Gusu as he seeks to find the truth. When he does find it, it has a far greater impact on his life than he could ever imagine.

    Caught up in these thoughts, with the System breathing down his neck, Shen Qingqiu does not properly assess the situation as he should.

    Perhaps the biggest mistake Shen Qingqiu makes in this moment is not his confidence in Luo Binghe’s abilities nor the potential ripple effects of the changed situation surrounding his broken seal: it’s that he doesn’t think to be cautious of Luo Binghe.

    Shen Qingqiu, in his years in this role, has never harmed Luo Binghe. He hasn’t betrayed Luo Binghe yet. Shen Qingqiu has become far too accustomed to their easy, fond companionship. After a long exhausting day of filming, Jungkook convinces his boss Yoongi to get a drink with him at a bar around the corner from where they filmed. It happens to be open-mic night at the bar, and the place is packed. Eventually the crowd convinces the bartender to get on stage and sing, and when he does, Jungkook can't look away. The man is beautiful, his voice is even more so, and it's love at first sight for Jungkook. He decides he has to do everything he can to talk to the bartender to get to know him and ask him out, even if that means coming back to the bar multiple times.

Only every time he goes back, the mysterious bartender with the angelic voice is never there.

Will the universe take pity on him and have them meet again?
