Covid and Telomeres
Discussion A 30 pack year history of smoking reduces telomere length by 169 bp’s. A single SARS2 infection reduces telomere length by almost 7000 bp’s.
(No, smoking is —not— safe people. Tobacco is also a hazard.)

Discussion 1 SARS2 exposure (infection) demolishes > 50% of our telomere length. Multiple exposure will result in cumulative & severe harm, not limited to primary T cell immunodeficiencies, dementias, cancer, renal failure, pulmonary fibrosis
Discussion There are published sources to confirm AJ's claim. SARS-CoV-2 associated acceleration of biological age and telomere shortening are irreversible processes, as far as I'm aware.
Evidence for biological age acceleration & telomere shortening after Covid19: "In light of these observations, we hypothesize that some epigenetic alterations are associated with the post-COVID-19 condition, particularly in younger patients (< 60 years)."
