“Australian COVID-19 cases update:

Reported Cases have continued to rise sharply at the national level and in most states & territories.

As always, it is hard to be certain with this series; the data quality is very shoddy & the raw data is spiky.”

“COVID-19 cases continue to surge across Taiwan, with nearly 10,000 seeking medical care last week, Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Tuesday, Focus Taiwan reported.

On May 4-10, Taiwan saw 9,978 outpatient and emergency visits related to COVID-19, a 66% increase from the previous week. According to the CDC, this marks the fifth consecutive week of rising cases.”

“The most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that last month nearly half of the United States have reported "very high" levels of COVID-19 activity.

As concerns with COVID have waned across the U.S., the CDC has come to rely on wastewater data to track the virus, which often lags several weeks behind current case counts.

Data collected between Aug. 25 and Aug. 31 by the CDC showed that 23 states have reported "very high" levels of wastewater viral activity nationwide. The data was published on Sept. 5.”
