🧵 Something some of you might not know about me is that I lost my sense of smell entirely for 18 months at the beginning of the pandemic after contracting COVID. It was before the 1st UK lockdown and well before smell and taste loss was a recognised symptom of the virus.

When you have covid, you exhale covid particles into the air. Even with just ordinary breathing.
Those particles can then float on the air for hours.”
I’m only a GP. And I’m shocked at how some of my specialist colleagues think they are not harming patients by not masking.

One of the saddest things about losing my dad this summer is talking with others who have lost a medically vulnerable loved one because of Covid.
I failed my 2nd NYS Road Test. I got confused when the tester asked me to parallel park “beside a Lexus” because we don’t parallel park *beside* cars. Once I was confused, it was all downhill from there. Something is wrong with my brain, & apparently I can’t live in the world…
I'm on Tivicay (dolutegravir) and Truvada (emtricitabine/tenofivir) which I know at least one of my mutuals (HIV-) has been on for Long Covid specifically.
I tested + for COVID again today. Same infection since March. 179 days. My insurance won't cover more Paxlovid to treat or Pemgarda to prevent (likely also treat). Still trying for mAbs, but FDA has threatened to pull Pemgarda. Afraid I'll lose my chance to clear this infection.
