just learned that a friend's mother, an active, vibrant old lady, broke her hip a few weeks ago and was doing really well with her rehab at a skilled nursing facility and looking forward to coming home, but then got 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱 from a staff member, developed pneumonia, and died

If you think Covid is only an issue for people who are older or who have preexisting conditions (who we should care about anyway but I digress!!!) please take a minute to look at these comments from formerly healthy college kids

Hearing loss. Loss of smell. Movement issues. New onset asthma. Heart conditions. Clots in the legs. Zero connection being made to COVID.

The only thing public health succeeded at is covering their own ass.”

“…not feeling like I had recovered, which led to being home quite a bit, which led to isolation, which led to depression, all those kinds of things. And it was just a pretty miserable experience for several years. And going to different doctors, trying different methods, holistic methods, Western methods. Some doctors claim that they’re specialists. Others claim that there is no way to test for long Covid, and then there was still a lot of skepticism about it being a real thing, at the time.”

I spoke to recently about my experience with Long Covid. I feel very grateful to be able to tell my story - so many people are suffering without a voice or the support they need. Progress is happening but *so* much more needs to be done.

I will never stop talking about the dangers of COVID. I have been sick for four years since August of 2020 (before vaccines were even released). This is real. It is happening. People ignoring it doesn’t make them invincible.

I failed my 2nd NYS Road Test. I got confused when the tester asked me to parallel park “beside a Lexus” because we don’t parallel park *beside* cars. Once I was confused, it was all downhill from there. Something is wrong with my brain, & apparently I can’t live in the world…

‘General Hospital’ Icon Emma Samms Talks Latest Return to the Show Amid Her Battle With Long COVID (EXCLUSIVE)

“I’ve been like this now for four and a half years nearly, and it’s baffling to not just the people who have it, but it’s baffling to the doctors,” she says. “They are some very smart people who are investigating and studying it and doing research, but all they keep finding is more and more damage that COVID has done to people’s bodies.

“I got some really good scans done and they found that at some point I had had myocarditis, which has scarred my heart,” Samms continues. “The consequences of COVID — I think we still have only just scratched the surface, and it’s terrifying to me that people think we are no longer in a pandemic. Because they so desperately want it to not affect them, they sort of pretend that it is has gone, and it so hasn’t.”

I tested + for COVID again today. Same infection since March. 179 days. My insurance won't cover more Paxlovid to treat or Pemgarda to prevent (likely also treat). Still trying for mAbs, but FDA has threatened to pull Pemgarda. Afraid I'll lose my chance to clear this infection.

I am really disappointed with the . My party was stopped by a sheriff at entrance to the fair. He said that masks weren’t allowed. I told him we were wearing our KN94s for health concerns. He continued to hassle one of my party and told them they would be stopped inside.

Asking , from my bedroom, where I'm moored because of , why the CDC isn't recommending masking -- alongside handwashing, vaxes and testing (which they are recommending). Alt text of response from Dr. Brendan Jackson below.
