The Dead Need Right To Delete Their Data So They Can't Be AI-ified, Lawyer Says - Slashdot
Legal scholar Victoria Haneman argues that U.S. law should grant estates a time-limited right to delete a deceased person's data so they can't be recreated by AI without their consent. "Digital resurrection by or through AI requires the personal data of the deceased, and the amount of data that we a...

Apple’s Upcoming AI Voice Control Will Change How People Use iPhones
Apple’s Upcoming AI Voice Control Will Change How People Use iPhones
Apple’s upcoming voice-control feature for the new Siri could be an under-the-radar hit — if it works. Also: Tim Cook placates Trump with minor supply-chain changes (and a bar of gold), and Apple is finishing up work on iOS 26 and Liquid Glass 1.0. Lastly, the iPhone maker loses a fifth AI engineer to Meta.

Gold, Frankincense, and Silicon
Gold, Frankincense, and Silicon
It is disturbing to think that the leader of a beloved, trusted, and widely believed-to-be-ethical company like Apple has succumbed to avarice. That Tim Cook feels no qualms about — or perhaps even delights in — participating in a quid-pro-quo-driven corrupt administration in which flattery, fealty, gifts, and barely-concealed bribes are rewarded. That the United States devolving into kleptocracy suits Tim Cook just fine, because Apple’s pockets are deep enough to pay the vig. But the alternative is more disturbing.
