Mobile School in Karachi Aisha Khan - Urdu VOA Islamabad According to the CIA Fact Book rate of literacy in Pakistan is around 50%. The right to free and compulsory education for children 5-14 years of age was recognized in the recently passed 18th amendment to the constitution as well. This report from Karachi shows a mobile school for children who cannot afford to go to traditional schools. Housed in a bus, this school travels to communities teaching English, Urdu and mathematics to children for free.

A non-government organisation (NGO) called Masoom takes an initiative for Mumbai kids to have a classroom inside the bus.
