Children under 10-12 may not be able to read it by themselves. It is not a pictorial book as such, eventhough there are a few sketches in the book - one for each story. This is one of the best story books I have ever read. It was written by 2 followers of Yogananda. Bhagavad Gita lists 26 Divine Qualities that one should follow. This book contains 26 stories from the Saints of India- Buddha, Tulsidas, A sikh guru, and others. Each of the stories demonstrates one of the 26 Divine Qualities of Gita. The stories are written very well.

The illustrations and printing are average, but the content is excellent. I recommend buying two Ramayana books for children: this one and a modern version with better graphics (examples include: 1) Ramayana for Children by Pegasus, and 2) Illustrated Ramayana for Children: Immortal Epic of India by Shubha Vilas). But, to us children, he was above all simply a friend." So far, in my search, this is the best book on Gandhi for children and adults alike. It is extremely sweet, but it is expensive according to Indian standards. It is expensive but I still recommend it highly. There are no pictures in the book but the content is childlike. It is appropriate for teens and adults. Children under 10 can be told these sweet stories.
