He received the civilian award Padma Shree from the Indian government. He publishes videos and books on the same. - SCANS OF GREAT BOOKS: Great classics (books) on children, educators, schools, and NGOs scanned and made available by him. His website has more than 6000 books, mostly in PDF format. He also explains these books in his video talks. - TRANSLATIONS OF GREAT BOOKS: Translations of books in Indian languages. SIMPLE LIVING AND HIGH THINKING The underlying emphasis is that even with less money children can have fun and get very good activity-based experiential education. His own life emphasises "Simple living high-thinking". With IIT education and a creative mind, he could have easily been a big shot in the industrial world, but he chose to live a simple life of an educator. IMPORTANT NOTE A major practical problem with these science activity videos is that the material used in the activities is difficult to find. I had to run to many different shops to find the required material for each activity. In practise, getting a good physics kit works much better. A link to videos and pictorial reading material is sent along with the kit. You won't have to depend on Arvind Gupta's videos to use the kit, but you will be able to do many of these activities using the kit. Please note that this is just a recommendation. Here, I am trying to share what I liked the most on his websites. He does not talk about spirituality, but his thoughts on activity-based learning and the great teachers of the past are phenomenal.
