6P vs Vapor Thrust (with examples) | Guilty Gear Strive
During a match, I got bonked out of my HVT by a May's meaty 6P, so I figured I'd share what I learned.
The first example shows 6P countering HVT. The second shows 6P clashing, leading to greater combo potential. The third shows 6P functioning similarly against SVT as well. The last shows that even if Ky elects to not VT, the 6P will still connect.
Given how late 6P needs to be used in order to beat out the VT, I suspect the defending Ky might be able to press a button in order to stuff the 6P before it comes out.
Most characters can blow up foudre arc with 6p, unfortunately giovanna's 6p comes out on frame 13 so you just get nuked. Dp and 5k fix that problem. I prefer 5k for the ease of this setup. dp punishes will likely be the better option in the future but for now I like this.
