The more I read, the more I appreciate the way that content is tailored to my situation. The ones that jar with me often feel like they mix several audiences. So confirmation bias: write different documentation for each of the 4 identified audiences.

All Stories Are Wrong, but Some Are Useful
All Stories Are Wrong, but Some Are Useful
If you want to have influence then stories are a significant tool in your box. But just as you can change people with stories, so can you be changed by them. Unless you are telling yourself stronger, more convincing, narratives. This post ties mental models, cognitive biases, influence, and more, to the notion of a story.

On Schelling Points in Organizations
On Schelling Points in Organizations
Last week I included a Less Wrong post on Schelling Points. This article was the driver for reading that post. It connects the influence of process on the alignment on outcome. Without processes or rubrics, choosing from multiple options means a group of individuals will randomly pick. That may lead to a (less than optimal) outcome or deadlock. By instilling (good) behaviours for how an individual can choose, you are encouraging the group to create a Schelling Point amongst the options. You aren't telling them what to pick but how to pick. That may be througn a process, by defining "what good looks like", or by simply reducing the options. It's important to note that individuals may still interpret this guidance differently and therefore the group may not converge on a single choice. Just as the Empire State building and Grand Central Terminal are both Schelling Points in NY.
