6 Foundational AI Guides for Teachers - Educators Technology
One thing I always emphasize in my workshops and talks: focus on building your AI literacy and ignore the tired fear-mongering about AI taking your job or making students cheat. That narrative is stale. If you’ve been paying attention, you already know where education is heading. In the U.S., the federal government now expects school…

Apply for the ISTE-GM AI Explorations and Their Practical Use in K-12 Schoo
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has developed a best-in-class professional learning program funded by General Motors, which cultivates future AI programmers and provides powerful professional learning for educators to support student-driven AI explorations. In the first 3 years of this collaboration, the ISTE-GM AI Explorations program served over 800 educators in the US and in US international schools around the world.
This year, ISTE is inviting school or district teams to enroll 3 - 6 educators in the 2021 cohort of ISTE’s AI Explorations and Their Practical Use in K-12 School Environments program at no charge!
Supported by an ISTE coach, school and district teams can collaborate to complete our PD program focused on the latest in artificial intelligence for education that includes:
- Access to the 8-week, 15-hour Artificial Intelligence Explorations and their Practical Use in School Environments online course, which will be completed as a team with three course webinars (kick-off, mid-point, and wrap-up) and weekly submissions from March 8 - May 2, 2021.
- Access to our AI online community and webinar series where educators can connect with other learners and experts throughout the year.
- Opportunity to provide input on future ISTE AI offerings through program evaluation surveys.
- Opportunities for continued connection after the course.
Upon successful course completion, participants will also receive a one-year ISTE membership. 10 participants will additionally be selected to receive a free registration and present at the ISTE 2021 Conference.
Applications should be submitted by the February 28, 2021 deadline. Priority acceptance will be given to school and district teams in Michigan, Texas, and California as well as to schools and districts in any state serving underrepresented student populations. Any remaining spots will be filled by other qualified teams in the US, US territories, and US international schools. Late applications will be considered only if space is available. We believe spots for this prestigious course may fill quickly, so please apply early.
*Note: Team members do not need to be current ISTE members to apply or participate.**

5 Examples of Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom - The Edvocate
Spread the loveWhen you think artificial intelligence, it’s likely that scenes from a science fiction thriller come to mind. Robots fighting humans, men falling in love with a computer that learns to feel, iPhones outsmarting their user. But what about a classroom? For years, educators have struggled to help each and every student with their individualized educational needs. That gets incredibly tough in a classroom of twenty, thirty, forty, or fifty students all required to pass the same standardized test, regardless of personal growth. The use of artificial intelligence has the potential to disrupt the traditional and potentially damaging one-size-fits […]
