If your company’s OKRs are primarily business outcome oriented, how do you get UX improvements prioritized that don’t move a business metric?— Pat Bergstresser (@PatThePM) June 3, 2023
“(digital) product design one of the most inward looking parts of the design industry it’s nuts. many won’t even bother look at other sectors of graphic design let alone games”
“I have zero context how or why this lovely, delicate animation was approved by leadership. But I'm 98% certain it wasn't pitched with business impact jargon.
Instead someone probably advocated hard for delight — or simply showed leadership what sheer delight feels like.”
Maybe for some designers, but for the best of the best, we are artists. We are innovating, solving problems, and making art. If you go into design to make money for someone else's business, you are missing out on the art of design. https://t.co/A4uTz0nPVk— Bonnie Kate Wolf (@bonniekatewolf) January 31, 2023
The sad part here is, whether we like it or not, we’ve all been lumped into “average” by merely having the option btwn 2 choices. There is no OS for the design-oriented person or the minimalist or the tinkerer. None of us are “average” and thus all let down in our own way.— Andy Allen (@asallen) October 17, 2022
I’ve been thinking a lot about how @figma does product work. And what makes Figma “Figma”?This, in turn, made me realize I never followed up on my previous thread about roadmap prioritization. So here goes….https://t.co/WqInVKd1xj— Sho Kuwamoto (@skuwamoto) September 23, 2022
I’d say this is largely because it’s what design leadership & hiring mgrs ask to see in the interview process. They often put extensive emphasis on process and young designers are conditioned to follow process-based frameworks, which bootcamps + institutions then reinforce.— Mateo Nava (@mateo_nava_) September 17, 2022
I prefer the simplest way to deliver a desired effect. I don’t say that I need springs and complex timings, because they might not be the best solution for the task. What is the best solution? The excerpt describes how I approach that question. tl;dr Design is how it works. pic.twitter.com/ayEosvACOi— Ken Kocienda (@kocienda) September 17, 2022
