Some people think UX design is just doing the facilitation or research work like personas and empathy mapping, etc. etc. and there are lots of bootcamps which teach only those things.— Helen Tran (@tranhelen) September 10, 2022

When people see your logo, they should feel something— they shouldn't just be able to describe it in words or explain its meaning. They should feel a visceral response that makes them want to be part of what you're doing.— Fons Mans (@FonsMans) August 29, 2022

We have had the linear design system from the beginning which helped to speed up both design and development, and even allow supporting dark, light and custom user themes in the app. We have one file in Figma which describes it and also built in to the code. pic.twitter.com/P7dFo8ZLG8— Karri Saarinen (@karrisaarinen) August 27, 2022

💡Figma Tip: Stop wasting time, just steal from better color palettes.Don’t reinvent the wheel. Instead, steal your color palette from a popular, well-tested, framework or design system. Then make customizations to match your branding and needs. Here's how.. pic.twitter.com/If6w3cclhi— Molly Hellmuth (@molly_hellmuth) August 26, 2022

I think my preferred way to fix window placement/resizing on iPad’s Stage Manager is to not do any of the ‘smart’ repositioning or grid-snapping when interacted with via mouse/trackpad. I get how that could be nice with finger interaction, but I do not want it at all with a mouse— Steve Troughton-Smith (@stroughtonsmith) August 20, 2022

Interestingly, the app was first dubbed “Find my Family”. Management (read: Steve) found the entire idea of location tracking deeply creepy. It led to a very long design process with dozens of beautiful and wacky app concepts to make it less… stalky and more friendly.— Sebastiaan de With (@sdw) August 20, 2022

Skeumorphism seemed to give designers more opportunities to “set the vibe” in ways that would make meaningful differences in user impressions like this

“It's uniquely painful (and motivating) to show an early version of a product to customers — things are clearly unfinished, and people have high expectations. Bad combo. But it still seems better to ship early + learn, than to wait until things are "ready."”
