There is nothing more predictable than people bemoaning the failings of younger generations as they get older. The obviousness of the “kids these days” cliche seems to do little to discourage it. https://t.co/3KokM9rpEu
@sama This just seems like a narrative designed to get people to agree with it, though. Like "things used to be so much harder in our day," etc. Everybody says, "yeah, yeah, he's right," but where's the data to back this up? It's a story - maybe true for some, but definitely not all.
@sama There are more elements to this — including the cost of living.
Expecting the newer generation to take similar risks as the previous founders did by starting a venture which can initially lower or reset their income despite the crazy housing costs (i.e. Canada) is challenging.
For a long time I was the guy people would call marriage material as they broke up with me—people I wasn’t interested in marrying. Then I met a man who didn’t want to marry but just thought I was a lot of fun, and here we are, married in case we need to seek asylum.
Gay people will make fun of Kevin McCarthy losing again for the 9th time and then proceed to walk around with their Instagram DMs looking like this: https://t.co/vwTeYB7blU
This has to be the worst take I’ve read from @Theholisticpsyc
The war on drugs is/was a US-government sponsored idea to incarcerate/kill Black and indigenous folks in US and throughout Latin America.
It not only failed but led to hundreds of thousands of deaths. https://t.co/0L51QajDuv
@ReuvenBlau @Noratoriou5 @RosaGoldensohn What tax payers need to realize is that it is cheaper to end homelessness than it is to continue to allow local governments to criminalize it!
a lot of people that are "anti trans" have actually just been caught up in a transphobic misinformation campaign
you see a lot of issues when these people get into debates with trans people because they genuinely don't realise that they'd largely agree with trans people
In fact, all those years I spent over-explaining and over-apologizing I was actually making things awkward for people.
Often, they would have to comfort and reassure me.
And, why should they have to do that?
