One of my fave things this season of #TheBoys, is how fans collectively decided to comment on posts as if they lived in the VCU. Like a spontaneous virtual cos-play. Never seen anything like it & I LOVE IT, you fucking geniuses. Keep going. #TheBoysTV @TheBoysTV https://t.co/4HDpsgf6uD
Critics say the targeting of single-family rental homes by private equity and other corporate landlords has undermined homeownership and driven up rents.
The firms’ all-cash offers typically win over bids with mortgages.
A Congressional subcommittee has new findings:

Libraries document specific strategies ordinary people have used to change legal structures worse than today’s: books like @rsgexp’s No Shortcuts, Marshall Ganz’s Why David Sometimes Wins, Frances Fox Piven’s Challenging Authority, and Barbara Ransby’s biography of Ella Baker.
Why has 'moving on' from Covid come to mean almost abandoning those made chronically ill by the virus & those who continue to be debilitated by it? 'Moving on' from Covid, whatever it means, doesn't have to mean this. Biomedical research & treatment trials aren't restrictions.
The messaging needs to be clear, consistent and true. “Congress can override what the Supreme Court did and pass a law to legalize abortion. To do that, we need to elect 2 more Democratic Senators and to hold the House. Pres Biden will sign a law codifying Roe if that happens.”
Dem leaders must tell voters the plan:
What’s the *actual* need? Which specific seats are we focused on? WHAT votes do we need & WHERE (what states + races?)
And, what’s the return? What is Biden/Congress ACTUALLY willing+able to do at 52/60 seats?
Be honest. Details motivate
For the moments when we DO insist on elections, we must be PRECISE with what we need and we will do with that power:
How many seats does the party need to Codify Roe?
Dems must SAY THAT. Not just “go vote” or “give us $6 to win.” That is demoralizing, losing, unfocused nonsense
Microsoft, Google and Meta friends, a somber reminder, that despite the public posturing yesterday, leadership has chosen to fund the republicans for years to buy access and favors: https://t.co/AbqGtRBVkQ
It's quite telling that major companies aren't criticizing the Supreme Court ruling but instead offering workarounds to abortion bans as a company perk.
This is quite Dystopian because it's already assumed to be a new normal and makes people even more dependent on their employers
Things Biden could do:
1. Set up abortion clinics on federal land inside red states (@ewarren’s idea)
2. Federal telehealth service for free abortion pills
3. Funding for abortion clinics and travel vouchers in nearby states
None of this is “waiving a magic wand”
Universal healthcare and childcare. Gun safety. Combating climate change.
The GOP opposes it all. If they refuse to support life after birth, how can they claim to believe in it before?
Truth is, this is not about life and never has been. It’s about seizing power and control. https://t.co/Qbl7480YtL
I don't think it's clear to non-Americans that coupled with abortion being banned soon in many parts of the US, there is also no maternity leave, no universal health care, birth can cost thousands of $, and many jobs don't support pumping and formula can just be out of stock
absolutely refuse to believe that top-level democrats are sad about Roe. if anything, they’re ecstatic: they’ve got the next 25+ years of campaigning and funding laid out for them. it’s gonna be “donate to democrats to help fight for abortion access!!!” from now till rapture
