Microsoft, Google and Meta friends, a somber reminder, that despite the public posturing yesterday, leadership has chosen to fund the republicans for years to buy access and favors: https://t.co/AbqGtRBVkQ
It's quite telling that major companies aren't criticizing the Supreme Court ruling but instead offering workarounds to abortion bans as a company perk.
This is quite Dystopian because it's already assumed to be a new normal and makes people even more dependent on their employers
Things Biden could do:
1. Set up abortion clinics on federal land inside red states (@ewarren’s idea)
2. Federal telehealth service for free abortion pills
3. Funding for abortion clinics and travel vouchers in nearby states
None of this is “waiving a magic wand”
Universal healthcare and childcare. Gun safety. Combating climate change.
The GOP opposes it all. If they refuse to support life after birth, how can they claim to believe in it before?
Truth is, this is not about life and never has been. It’s about seizing power and control. https://t.co/Qbl7480YtL
I don't think it's clear to non-Americans that coupled with abortion being banned soon in many parts of the US, there is also no maternity leave, no universal health care, birth can cost thousands of $, and many jobs don't support pumping and formula can just be out of stock
absolutely refuse to believe that top-level democrats are sad about Roe. if anything, they’re ecstatic: they’ve got the next 25+ years of campaigning and funding laid out for them. it’s gonna be “donate to democrats to help fight for abortion access!!!” from now till rapture
Those men were at the constitutional convention on stolen land writing about "freedom" while eating meals prepared by the human beings they owned. Some chewed and swallowed that food with teeth stolen from someone else's mouth. And we were taught in school to call them "fathers."
If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control
Married LGBTQ people: CALL A LAWYER.
Get copies of birth certificates and custody for your children on paper. Make sure life insurance policies, property that you own, bank account information, passwords for things, Powers of Attorney, etc. are all set up & understood
We've seen men who people said would “never get elected” get elected. We're seeing things people said would “never get overturned” be overturned. It's long been time to drop the illusions about what will “never happen” in the USA.
A lot of people, especially on days like yesterday’s SCOTUS rulings, ask me about hope.
Now is the time to stick together. Some thoughts from last night’s Q&A: https://t.co/zos9sUb0u3
These guys are just politicians. The Constitution to them is just a fun tool to help them impose their political views on the entire country. The implausible inconsistency of the guns and abortion rulings is both sickening and revealing.
Clarence Thomas writes, in a concurring opinion, that the Supreme Court should reconsider Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell — the rulings that now protect contraception, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage.
In a solo concurring opinion, Thomas says the court should reconsider rulings that protect contraception, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage. https://t.co/zcQNko6NVR
@Brandorulz @marlosalazarr It doesn't do that at all! It literally has their poverty as a plot point, and Nani working at some tourist luau is presented as a crappy thing she's stuck doing to survive.
@marlosalazarr Used to cry and sob when this song would play cause it’d send me into a euphoria of how I wanted life at the age of 8 years old; something about the vibes are just too immaculate for average human comprehension
@cat4nat666 @marlosalazarr It’s even more heartbreaking to know that “Aloha ‘Oe” was written by Queen Liliuokalani, the last monarch of Hawaii before it was forcefully annexed by the US.
HBO Max and A24 are developing 'Church Girls,' a comedy pilot from #Hacks star Megan Stalter.
It follows a 20-year-old Christian closeted lesbian as she wrestles with her sexuality and faith in God, while entering adulthood in suburban Ohio.

the Supreme Court: everyone can have a gun at any time for any reason with no restrictions hehe
also the Supreme Court: someone was on a public street outside my home with a poster board sign in their hand and I got scared, please make this punishable by death @ Congress
