In a whirlwind of courage, I emptied out about two-thirds of my drawers and half of my closet and packed it all into boxes. Community Living is coming by tomorrow morning to pick it all up. I am the greatest.

Wow. This really hits. As an employee, I often felt like the ball in a pinball machine — frantically bouncing around to take on challenges, seize opportunities, and prove my worth. I never felt like I was realizing my full potential. It was exhausting for me & I was probably exhausting to manage

They should be able to access that image too. Who knows? Maybe someday, anyone with good sight now could lose that privilege. Accessibility is a right, not a privilege. #Accessibility

Too much I could say about this very excellent piece from Erin, but I will start with noting that one way to shape the future of the web is to pay closer attention to the stories we use to talk about it: https://www.wrecka.ge/against-the-dark-forest/

Glad you enjoyed the talk Pip and some of the key points landed! We’ve been trying to show how the balance between testing and o11y is crucial for a few years and whenever it clicks for someone, we see a little sparkle in their eyes and there’s no going back!!

ā€œAm I using this because it feels new and fancy or is it genuinely replacing previously hacky workarounds?ā€ p much why :has() went straight into the game (production work) but @layer is still not training with main squad yet, for example. I think that’s more useful to people fighting the browser.

Picked up this little book of writers’ writing rituals, & I think most of em are liars — ā€œup at dawn, 6 hours at my desk, followed by calisthenics, liquor, & reading edifying works.ā€ But David Lynch delivers the goods.

I love how people tell me that I’m not going to make it and I should switch professions because I praise AI. šŸ˜‚ Excuse me for using all the available tools that help me code faster without compromising quality.

It's not a terribly complex app. However. it was nice to use @vite.dev again, tackle my own issues etc. and not have to deal with mystical Next.js problems where I'm like is it me... is it them... WHY IS THE BUNDLE SO HUGE?! blueskysear.ch #frontend #perf

BlueSky is what Threads or Mastodon I thought it’d be. I don’t know and don’t care if it’s going mainstream, but it’s already the main place for developers and builders. That’s enough for me.

My house is such an echo chamber. Every single person here loves and respects each other. Thinking about bringing in a couple of abusive asshole roommates just for a more balanced perspective.

I was a very early user here in 2023. I left because I saw so many trying to recreate the same "followers as currency" model from the other platforms by doing the thought leader-y thing that makes LinkedIn so tedious for me. I'm liberally muting this time to avoid it. I just want real, human chat.

Ok, so some people don't have avatars and that is making the code fail. Good thing is, as this is a progressive enhancement, it doesn't break the page, and the component removes itself. Working on a fix now, and will update the blog post.
