SPAs and a #javascript heavy frontend can work, but @calebporzio explains that if that's your approach, you should also consider using a backend-as-a-service. @Netlify, @zeithq Now...which are your favorite platforms for backend services and why? 👇 https://t.co/hK0c9ksZcZ https://t.co/IKw80v2B4b
Looks like @KrauseFx has already made the iTunes killing part into a mac app that starts on startup! Consider this script deprecated, 18 minutes later https://t.co/oxSPVJaHqn
this is the most curiosity-inducing & creative software interaction design i've seen from anyone running for public office ever. also, no additional coding was needed https://t.co/T7J350FwVK
Today I Learned JSON.stringify can prettify your JSON too with optional params. Indent with 2-spaces: JSON.stringify({a:1,b:2,c:{d:1,e:[1,2]}}, null, 2);
'I choose https://t.co/hHrpwRw7os. It’s a brilliant example of design genuinely making life better for everyone—it’s not pretty, it’s not selling anything, it’s not design for other designers. It just makes things better.' @patrickburgoyne CEO, D&AD https://t.co/ig4xo88JbR
I pirated Photoshop, which helped me want to become a web designer. I tried to pirate a different VB, though - vBulliten. I found keygens but they didn’t work, so instead I went with MyBB as an OSS alternative 😅 https://t.co/d5kPydyeTO
Is there a website that aggregates all the tech conferences and potential speaking events? 🤔 I might not get my proposal to the @gatsbyjs days accepted 😅 but just the feeling of applying has me excited to apply to more places! 😆
My son asked for a new xbox controller for Xmas. Didnt think about why he needed a new one... until he opened it up and got all excited because now his sister could play games with him. He didn’t want the controller for himself, he wanted it so they could play together.
I don't believe we need to justify rest--but it is *clearly* tied to performance. High performers worked far fewer hours than we think. When you look into famous intellectual figures that people tweet hustle porn about, they did not work the 80+ hour weeks we have normalized.
Software pals, can you discuss your relationship with math in your coding journey? I'd like to have a thread to reference when I run into folks that say, 'oh but I'm no good at math.' Thanks!
Hey look, they’re *still* performing well! macOS and nvm are still at the top, Debian/Ubuntu, and windows are all in the top 5 (in an incognito window). https://t.co/065gtTX7bM
Had a chat about Star Wars with a friend this morning, who referred to a character as “O’Ren”, and it took me a second to realize that they’ve now seen three movies thinking the baddie’s name is Kyle.

In the coming year I fully intend to say, 'Well, hindsight is -' and then I'll gesture broadly around and I will do it all the time because you only get one year of that cleverness.
Does anyone else have creativity hangovers? Like when you write something late in the night and really enjoy the result, then the next day you feel mildly revolted and embarrassed, and then in a few more days it’s OK again.
Years ago I saw an interactive essay where you could control the level of detail in the prose. It was either through a slider controlling detail of all segments, or each sentence being backed by a paragraph and you could click to expand. I can’t find it now, anyone have a link?
Here’s to another decade of backside ollies and all the moments in between: 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010 (omitted for space) and [very recently, so almost] 2020. https://t.co/LtKfHMoYXh
I sometimes resist identifying as a JavaScript (or web, or React) developer, despite obviously being one, because I think there are many languages and domains I would enjoy just as much. What I like is building software.
