Attempting to replicate Ruined King's stylized FX. Based around a staff-wielding character, Sobek, Egyptian God of the Nile, so leaned into the water magic influence heavily. Apart from the main three FX (defense, projectile, hit), also went with some build up and settle visual steps in order to help the animator visualize (if an animator was going to do so). Took me around 3 days. (This is technically still a WIP!)

Fountain VFX - UE5, Ivan Remez
Personal project I created in my free time using UE5's Niagara system, focusing on honing my skills in Houdini flip simulations and VAT exporting. The project also allowed me to explore the SingleLayer water shader and experiment with its capabilities. The environment and fountain mesh were sourced from Paragon Assets, while all visual effects (fountain, leaves, bugs) were created by me.

My focus for this project was centered around in-game FX and leading a multidisciplinary team of artists in the gameplay and cinematic space. This was a collaborative effort between the fantastically talented VFX Artists at Riot Games and BeyondFX

Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed Environment VFX, Jesse Henning
I worked with Plan A and Ruckus Dev in collaboration with the developers of DAH2, Black Forest Games, to help create environmental VFX for water puddles during rain storms. I created materials for the puddles and moving/overflowing water as well as the geyser for the fire hydrant. All particle FX for these were done by fellow and talented VFX Artist Will Jennett. I was also in charge of VFX supervision for multiple cutscenes and Gameplay VFX with a small team of 4 total VFX artists.

Hello! After a long time with no posts I'm bringing the WIP of a procedural waterfall shader that I'm creating in my spare time. I've started this in UE4, but then I decided to migrate it to UE5, and it's weird how it looks different in both versions. Honestly, I still prefer the results in UE4, but it just need some love!
It's not a fluid, it's just a simple mesh with shader that I'm using a combination between of water textures made from pictures I got from CGtextures and used to create manually a tileset using Photoshop and procedural masks generated using the TexCoord. I love this technique!
It's not ready (and honestly it may never be), and to convince as a real waterfall I should add some particles, but my challenge (and my fun) here is just to give the impression of waterfall and also create some controllers to generate different variations, like a waterfall of poison or lava using a single mesh.
