Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center tests a large amount of explosives in the desert outside of Socorro, NM.

I drew the FX for these 2 scenes with Sharpies of various sizes (for the electricity), a 0.7 mechanical pencil (for tight contours), and a 6B pencil for the textural elements (the stuff that adds depth and form to the FX).
