2D VFX Animation Poison Explosion, Yuri Podchasha
2d The process of creating the effect of a poisonous explosion. I start by drawing a frame-by-frame animation of the explosion mass, which will be used as the main texture in Unity. After finishing drawing the animation, I finalize the result in After Effects, add blur, glow. After that, I start creating the effect using the particle system on the unity engine, adding flashes and additional particles. The effect was developed specifically for the Dark Tree project. Last of Us Part 1 | Bloater Entrance FX, Ethan Webb
I placed the fx for this reveal, the main challenge of which was balancing the density and detail of these fx with the framerate. Thanks of course to the FX team, who made the basis for these spore bursts during Last of Us Part II. Also a big thanks to the tech art team for the optimization effort, here and throughout the game. I really enjoyed the process, balancing the needs and costs of each area, and it was a neat chance to get to work more closely with a few more departments.

SUPER excited to launch with these Warlock updates. Many updates to the base rotational spells across all specs, including a bonus suite of FX for the 'green fire' glyph, and added all kinds of new portals for your demon-summoning needs. All 3 specs share a chaotic, unruly, corrupted undertone, but each have a distinct signature look. The Warlock class spans a wide variety of gameplay styles, so these were a fun challenge to work on.
