Artstation Challenge Dragon's Rise - VFX Art - "Projectile Defense Tadpole", Benjamin ADAM
Hey everyone ! I'm very happy to share the first part of my participation for the artstation challenge "Dragon's Rise, The Forgotten Realms" in the VFX category.
This is a defensive spell for the cosmic lava dragon launching a "missile tadpole" which will absorb an enemy projectile into a bubble.

I'm really happy to share the work i did in 2021, for the launch trailer of Diablo Immortal, thanks to the amazing team of AXIS STUDIOS and Blizzard!

Demon's Souls - Icons - Souls, Spells, Grass, Adam Rehmann
Here is a sampling of some of the icons I created for Demon's Souls. As always, there was a focus on legibility and easy identification - particularly for the spells and healing grass. For the grass we wanted to visually express the maturation stages that each of the types of grass represented. For the spells, we really focused on clarity and introduced a page/scroll backdrop to help players quickly identify whether they were looking at a magic spell or a miracle.
Soul icons were a challenge all of their own - we wanted them to have a feeling of movement and life, as well as express the nature of the creature they originated from.

I was working a lot with incredible VFX artists as an VFX Art Director on Magic Wars: Army of Chaos game. I was responsible for feedback and concepting (visualizing how things would look like in the game). A lot of these VFX you can see in actual gameplay done by talented VFX artists from Plarium South.
Cards of Ethernity (Red Rift) VFX Concepts, Ivik Nier
VFX Concepts I've done for Cards of Ethernity game. Some of them exist in this game, done by talented VFX artists.
I worked as an Art Director on this project and while I'm working as an Art Director on any project that have VFX I tend to take concept role of VFX to myself.
I made lot more of little concepts, this list is only a small part of a work I did for this project.

VFX researches for "Emeth", a Tactical Game Project we made at school. The protagonist is supposed to be a trickster : sharp and violent, taking possession of his enemies to control them; while the guardian is supposed to be the opposite : slow but tanky. This way we can have 2 differents gameplay styles put together :)
From a very young age, I knew what I wanted to become as a grown-up. So my love for art started at a very early age. I have a love for all artistic disciplines but after completing a Fine Arts degree I started to learn digital art, matte painting and concept art, something which has enabled me to embark in a variety of projects from book and musical album covers, to concept art for videogames, and marketing illustrations amongst many others, with clients such as Blizzard, Wizards of the Coast and Deep Silver.
I would describe my work as a game of light and color, which gives way to colorful and painterly illustrations, whether they are characters, environments or concept art.
I got my first commissions in 2010 when I was finishing my Fine Arts degree and a year later I won ImagineFX Rising Stars award, and also Expomanga's Best Spanish Illustrator.
I've done tutorials for magazines such as Advanced Photoshop or ImagineFX and given many workshops in Spain, while also attending several Comic and Manga Cons in this country.
My work has appeared in many artbooks such as Digital Art Masters (3dtotal), Exotique (Ballistic), Sketching from the imagination (3dtotal), Prime books (3dtotal) or Infected by Art.
In the last 8 years I've published four artbooks with Spanish publisher Ediciones Babylon, two of them mainly digital, and the other two featuring only traditional media.
A compilation of several VFX works done for Artside (Game Art School) under the supervision of Jeremy Vitry. The final project of the week was to design a skill kit for Candice, one of his characters. It was a lot of fun to get out of my comfort zone and start to see how dynamic the VFX world is!
