Sundowns brush aside Royal AM to extend unbeaten run
Peter Shalulile and Lesiba Nku were on target as the Brazilains extended their unbeaten record to 27 league games this season and 51 overall. Mamelodi Sundowns brushed aside Royal AM with a comfortable 2-0 victory in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday evening. Peter Shalulile and Lesiba Nku were on target as the Brazilains extended their unbeaten record to 27 league games this season and 51 overall. ALSO READ: Khune’s presence at Chiefs has ‘always been positive’ The KwaZulu-Natal side played like a team resigned to losing the game and hardly threatened on their home turf. They showed no fight and desire to go forward against the Tshwane giants, who controlled the game with relative ease. Thwihli Thwahla are now two points ahead of 15th-placed Richards Bay with two rounds of matches left to play. The first half was almost a carbon copy of the one in Tshwane last Saturday with the home team happy to play with a low block. The only difference is that Sundowns went into the break leading 1-0 after Shalulile opened the scoring four minutes before half time with an acrobatic effort inside the box. The goal came as a result of Royal AM goalkeeper Hugo Nyame’s poor clearance from a Nku header. The ball fell to Shalulile who smashed home into an empty net to score his eighth league goal of the campaign. The Namibian striker picked up where he left off from the last game between the two teams where she scored the only goal of the match at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium. The league champions were good value for their lead after dominating the opening half. Shalulile sparkles Before Shalulile put Sundowns ahead, Neo Maema’s deflected left-footed effort hit the woodwork in the 35th minute after being teed up by the Namibian on the edge of the area. 30-year-old striker Shaululile was unlucky not to grab his second of the game when his shot came off the upright shortly after the restart. ALSO READ: Dlamini has no issues with Banyana World Cup snub Nku put the game to bed in the 74th minute with a wonderful left-footed curler after cutting into the box from the right. Siyabonga Mabena won a penalty in injury time only for Marcelo Allende to miss the resultant spot kick, but the win was already secured.

We certainly cant rule that out: Donny van de Beek sharply disagrees with his agent over next transfer destination Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has disagreed with his agent over the possibility of making a return to Ajax in the summer. Van de Beek joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in the January transfer window to revive his career and escape his troubles at Old Trafford. However, it hasn’t been the fairytale spell he would have envisioned. The Netherlands international has only made eight appearances for the Bundesliga outfit and has struggled to break into their team. Whenever given the chance to feature, Van de Beek failed to grab his opportunities and it wasn’t surprising when it came out that Frankfurt decided not to make his stay at the club permanent. It’s expected that Van de Beek will return to United ahead of a possible sale in the coming weeks. His agent spoke to the media over the weekend and indicated that an Ajax transfer is out of the question for his client. Van de Beek’s representative stated that he prefers the player to make a switch either to Spain or Italy, where his best attributes as a playmaking n.o 10 would best be utilized. However, according to the 27-year-old, he would relish sporting the Ajax badge once again. It’s at The Johan Cruyff Arena that the midfielder made his name and convinced United to fork out £39m to secure his services in 2020. Van de Beek played 175 games for Ajax before arriving in England. He told Ziggo Sport (via Manchester Evening News), “Why not? Ajax has always been a special place for me, so we certainly cannot rule that out.” “At Ajax only one thing matters: winning and becoming champions.” “Now European football and fifth place is the highest achievable after a turbulent year. It’s difficult now, but Ajax always bounces back.” He added, “I have also had mixed years due to injuries. But now I’m looking forward again. If I keep working hard, I’m confident things will turn out fine.” “It is up to you to turn it around. I’m working on that. I am convinced of my own qualities. If I stay fit and keep working hard, I will definitely be fine.” Van de Beek’s United contract expires in 2025, so this upcoming window represents the Red Devils’ best chance of getting whatever fee they can from parting ways with him. Manchester United hold meeting in recent days with Kieran McKennas agent over managerial job Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United have reportedly held a meeting with the agent of Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna about potentially replacing Erik ten Hag at the club. Pressure on Ten Hag is now more intense than ever following United’s 14th Premier League loss at the hands of old rivals Arsenal. It’s looking almost a certainty that Ten Hag and United will part ways despite club bosses’ insistence that a decision has not been made and a final determination regarding the Dutchman’s future will only be arrived at when the season concludes. Meanwhile, United continue to be linked with a host of coaches including Thomas Tuchel, Hansi Flick, Gareth Southgate, Roberto De Zerbi, Graham Potter and Thomas Frank, to mention a few names. A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that McKenna is on INEOS’ radar courtesy of the incredible work he has done at Ipswich Town this season. McKenna’s meteoric rise was capped by his fine achievement of guiding the Tractor Boys to automatic Premier League promotion. In doing so, McKenna also secured back-to-back promotions and his side became the first since Southampton in 2012 to secure consecutive promotions from the third division to England’s top flight. Ipswich have earned plenty of praise for their attractive and attack-oriented brand of football and it’s mostly down to McKenna. The North Irishman served as United’s U18s coach between 2016 and 2018. He was then included in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backroom staff before he eventually joined the Portman Road outfit in December 2021. According to Foot Mercato, United have now made concrete steps to bring McKenna back to Old Trafford, this time as the main man in the dugout. Southgate was believed to be the Red Devils’ number one managerial target but the publication states that United chiefs harbour concerns about when the 53-year-old can assume the hot seat considering he’s set to lead England to Euro 2024 in the summer. Attention has now shifted towards appointing McKenna and it’s understood that there was a meeting in “recent days” between the club and his agent to discuss his candidature. EXCL: #PL | Kieran McKenna is a also a candidate to become the next manager of Manchester United. In the event of a long journey, or even England’s coronation at the Euro, the 53-year-old tactician will not be available before mid-July.” “Anxious to have a coach present from the start of preparation, this situation does not necessarily please the managers of Old Trafford according to our information. As a result, the name of Kieran McKenna comes up repeatedly in the north of England.” “According to our information, the first concrete contacts have already taken place between its representatives and the leaders of Manchester United.” Santi Aouna notes that McKenna’s “profile appeals” to the top brass at United and the tactician himself “would be excited” by the prospect of becoming the 20-time English champions’ next manager. Manchester United cool their interest in Gareth Southgate as Erik ten Hag remains under pressure Man United News And Transfer News
1 The INEOS era is already underway with plenty of executive appointments promising a better future for the operation off the pitch. However, the question of who will remain in the dugout to engineer the operations on the pitch, the manager, is still under question. Erik ten Hag is not winning any backers as his team continues to stumble from one bad result to another, with performances to match and the writing could be on the wall for him in the summer. Consequently, United have been linked with a host of potential replacements, one of them being current England manager Gareth Southgate. While Southgate links made sense due to his closeness with INEOS and Sir Dave Brailsford, the man himself has repeatedly played down those prospects. Now, it appears that United have reciprocated that cold water if recent reports are to be believed. Football Insider reports that United are now ready to look elsewhere in their search for potential Ten Hag replacements, ruling Gareth Southgate out of the race. Southgate will be busy with England duties till late into July anyway, so any talks would have been held afterwards, hardly an ideal scenario for any party involved. Thomas Tuchel is instead the leading candidate for the post after the decision made on Southgate. Despite getting England to the latter stages of multiple international tournaments under his leadership, questions remain over his tactical management of the team, as well as his ability to navigate a club season. He didn’t look like a popular candidate to take the reins from Ten Hag so this report is likely to go down well with the fans. Ten Hag, meanwhile, has three more games to go, including the increasingly important FA Cup final as their league season has completely derailed. Maybe there is hope yet for the Dutchman to convince his bosses that they don’t need to search for a replacement after all. Want to be the first to hear breaking Man United news? Shalulile scores spectacular goal against Royal AM!
Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile scored a spectacular goal to give his side the lead against Royal AM on Tuesday night. This DStv Premiership fixture took place at Harry Gwala Stadium, and it also marked the second league match between the two sides in the space of three days. It is also worth mentioning that it was Shalulile who scored in Saturday’s game at Lucas Moripe Stadium but that goal came in the 85th minute. Lesiba Nku also netted a stunner of his own as Sundowns recorded an easy 2-0 win over Royal AM to move to 69 points after 27 games. As a result, Sundowns are three points away from setting a new PSL record for most number of points won in a 30-match season. The current record (71 points) is held by Sundowns who set it during the 2015-16 under then coach Pitso Mosimane. According to OptaJabu, Shalulile has scored at least one goal in every match he’s played against Thwihli Thwahla – scored seven in five games. 100% – Peter Shalulile has scored at least once in every #dstvprem game he’s played v Royal AM (7 goals in 5 appearances), the only opponent against whom he enjoys a 100% scoring record in the league. Shalulile went into this encounter against Royal AM sitting on 115 goals in the PSL, and he’s now on 116, meaning he is seven goals away from Nomvethe’s record. However, with three league games to go and a Nedbank Cup final still to play, it seems unlikely that Shalulile will break that record this season. Nonetheless, even if he doesn’t find the back of the net in the remaining matches of the season, Shalulile should be proud of the campaign he’s had. It was a difficult season for him as he often appeared to be struggling for form but scoring 14 goals across all competitions is still not too bad.

Manchester United players fear Bruno Fernandes will leave in the summer as Inter Milan also join race Man United News And Transfer News
1 It is the most unexpected Manchester United transfer story of the year and the rate at which it is gaining pace would worry most United fans. Manchester Evening News reports many players at the club doubt that Bruno Fernandes will be at Old Trafford next season. Fernandes is reportedly open to a move after United took a huge step backwards this season, with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan interested in his services. Despite coming under criticism for his sometimes erratic style of play and his outbursts of frustration, Fernandes has been the one constant source of goals and assists in a dysfunctional team. He has previously been linked to the Saudi Pro League, with teams like Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, and Al-Hilal all registering an interest in his services. However, it always looked unlikely as Fernandes, who has only one Carabao Cup to show for his efforts at United, always seemed like a player who would chase major European trophies first. As United struggle with a financial crisis and needing a squad to rebuild along with it, they are looking at Fernandes as a high-value asset they can potentially flip to reinvest elsewhere. The report states that United do prefer to keep Fernandes, whose contract effectively runs till 2027 as the club holds a one-year option to extend. Still, a lucrative offer from a European heavyweight is clearly a likelier possibility now than it was at the start of the season. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has repeatedly stressed the importance of his captain but with his own future under question, it would be naive to take his words as gospel right now. The mood around the camp is clearly low but if United lose their talismanic captain in the first window under the new INEOS leadership, fans are likely to be more grumpy than happy. Manchester United are plotting to hijack Newcastles move for Tosin Adarabioyo Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United are getting ready to welcome Newcastle to Old Trafford this week after delivering a dreadful performance against Arsenal at home over the weekend. With Champions League and Europa League football out of sight, all eyes are on the Europa Conference League for Man United. However, they face competition from Newcastle, who currently occupy the sixth place. As such, there is plenty to fight for the Red Devils against the Magpies on Wednesday. The tension between the two clubs is no less off the pitch as well. Much has been written about United’s approach for Dan Ashworth, which has irked senior figures at Newcastle. Now, the INEOS leadership may annoy them even further by hijacking one of their key targets. According to talkSPORT, Newcastle stepped up efforts to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer over the weekend. The English centre-back has decided to depart Fulham at the end of the season despite enjoying plenty of success under Marco Silva. Eddie Howe’s side are hopeful of convincing Adarabioyo, but now they face serious competition from United, who are reportedly working on hijacking their move. It is understood the club’s new technical director Jason Wilcox, who is expected to work alongside Ashworth to rejuvenate United, is keen on bringing Adarabioyo to Manchester. Wilcox, who served as Manchester City’s head of academy before moving to Southampton, worked with the talented defender while he was part of City’s youth setup. The 26-year-old left the club in 2020 to join Fulham. talkSPORT adds United intend to sign two centre-backs this summer. This comes on the back of Raphael Varane’s announcement that he is leaving the club following their FA Cup final outing at Wembley. INEOS’ budget for United this summer is going to be heavily influenced due to the Premier League’s PSR rules. As such, Adarabioyo’s arrival on a free transfer could go a long way in helping the club’s hierarchy address the backline without spending too much. Nwabali wanted Kaizer Chiefs move before AFCON!
Nwabali wanted Kaizer Chiefs move before AFCON!
Chippa United and Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali always dreamed of playing for Kaizer Chiefs before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals. This is according Chippa United goalkeeper coach Sean Louw who said Nwabali told him that it was his childhood dream to play for Chiefs. This could means the lanky goalkeeper had been following Amakhosi and their history for many years while he was in Nigeria. Louw, himself, admitted that it was his childhood dream to play for Chiefs although he never got that opportunity and then he ventured into coaching. Louw coached Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies, Banyana Banyana and All Stars as a goalkeeper coach before moving to Chippa United. The now Chippa United goalkeeper coach said he is the one who advised Nwabali to not rush moving to Chiefs and wait for the AFCON tournament. And he felt Nwabali would be worth more after the AFCON tournament than when he’s at Chiefs, and the Nigeria international took that advice. NWABALI WANTED KAIZER CHIEFS MOVE BEFORE AFCON – LOUW “Like I said  to you, between you and me his childhood dream was to always play for Kaizer Chiefs, but even me, my childhood dream was to play for Kaizer Chiefs, I don’t blame him,” said Louw to SABC Sport. “In the beginning of this season, he wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs, but I said to him before you speak to Kaizer Chiefs, first go to AFCON because you will win the AFCON, and you will be so much more worth than at Kaizer Chiefs with all due respect,” she continued. LOUW NOW WANTS SAUDI ARABIAN MOVE FOR THE LANKY ‘KEEPER Meanwhile, Louw said his wish is for Nwabali to join Steven Gerrard in the Saudi Arabian League for two reasons. Top of that list is the fact that there is too money in Saudi Arabia, meaning Nwabali will be earning a better salary, and secondly, because he would be coached by a legend of the game. Gerrard, who cemented his legendary status with Liverpool and England, is currently coaching Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq FC. “Sometimes I wish it was about me to be quite honest. I would love for him to join Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia, and I can give many reasons why, number one – it’s Arab money and number two you are coached by the legend of the game who is willing to understand how the game is being played now,” added Louw.

Orlando Pirates players captured discussing betting
A group of Orlando Pirates first team players are trending after they were captured on video discussing football betting. Goalkeeper Sipho Chaine led the discussion, referencing Manchester United and Arsenal’s blockbuster English Premier League clash at Old Trafford on 12 May at 17:30 SAST. It remains to be seen whether the incident was pure banter or whether the Buccaneers shot-stopper actually placed a bet on the match. Take a look at the trending video below. Chaine joined the Buccaneers in 2022 from Chippa United. Since joining Orlando Pirates, he has already made 47 appearances for the club. While competition from Melusi Buthelezi has been stiff this season, Chaine has held his own and continues to be Jose Riveiro’s preferred number one. In other news, Orlando Pirates have reportedly secured the services of talented SuperSport United defender Kegan Johannes for next season. Despite being just 23 years of age, Johannes already has over 70 top-flight appearances to his name. The speedy fullback made a name for himself at Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) before joining SuperSport United in 2021. According to the latest reports, Jose Riveiro’s side have swooped in to sign the talented defender in a big-money move! Johannes had recently signed a new contract extension at SuperSport United, meaning Orlando Pirates had to fork out the big bucks for their target. Orlando Pirates land talented PSL defender “SuperSport United defender Kegan Johannes is on his way to join Orlando Pirates next season,” a Sportswire report read. “Pirates are therefore aiming to strengthen their squad for their upcoming CAF club competition campaign next season. They have already secured qualification through their Nedbank Cup final appearance against Mamelodi Sundowns on 1 June at Mbombela Stadium. “Sportswire has been told the deal is done. David Ornstein confirms Bruno Fernandes to stay at Man United after talks with club heads Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is set to stay at the club beyond the upcoming summer transfer window after he was given assurances by Old Trafford chiefs in a crunch meeting. Fernandes has recently been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with various reports suggesting that he could be on his way out of United. Saudi Arabia Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad are believed to be admirers of the Portugal international and would make an offer for him in the summer if they receive encouragement that he’s open to the move. Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as an interested party in Fernandes. Despite United’s struggles this season, their skipper has still managed to put up very impressive numbers. Fernandes has plundered 10 goals and seven assists in 33 Premier League appearances. Across all competitions, he has managed 15 goals and 11 assists – such has been the level of his influence in the side. He himself spoke to DAZN Portugal in an interview and refused to definitively confirm that his long-term future lies with United. He instead remarked that a decision on where he will play his football from next term will be made after consultations with the relevant stakeholders. David Ornstein of The Athletic has now poured cold water on any fears that the 29-year-old is eyeing pastures anew and has indicated that his wish is to currently remain contracted to the Red Devils. Ornstein reveals, “Manchester United met Bruno Fernandes last week to discuss his future, with the club making clear they want him to stay and the midfielder expressing a desire to remain at Old Trafford.” “Fernandes and his entourage joined members of United’s football leadership team at the team’s Carrington training ground for a lengthy conversation, during which it was underlined that the INEOS-led regime intend to continue building around its 29-year-old captain.” “The Portugal international was seeking clarity on United’s direction and whether their ambition matches his — to be central to a competitive and successful side under the new sporting set-up. Fernandes will want to see evidence that this is achievable and if he is unsatisfied or a massive offer arrives that United have a financial need to accept, his exit cannot be completely ruled out.” Ornstein notes all those present at the meeting walked away with the sense that Fernandes’ questions were fully answered and that he will not be seeking to leave. United were represented in the conversation by Sir Dave Brailsford, new technical director Jason Wilcox and Matt Hargreaves. Want to be the first to hear breaking Man United news? Thomas Frank breaks silence on Manchester United links keeps the door open for a move Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United’s potential search for a manager to replace Erik ten Hag at the end of the season added a new name recently. Brentford’s Thomas Frank, who is close with INEOS and Sir Dave Brailsford was recently reported as a United target. Frank would come with an immediate Premier League pedigree and years of overachievement on a relatively minor budget, perfect for United who are struggling with Financial Fair Play. The Dane was recently asked about this link and kept the door open for a future move, welcoming the praise and attention for his project at Brentford. In an interview with Danish outlet Bold, Frank said: “I think it is flattering [interest in his services] and recognition in relation to what I do. And I am glad that others are noticing the work we are doing in Brentford. “Having said that, what goes on in Brentford is not a one-man show.” Frank signed a new deal to keep him at Brentford in 2022 which runs till 2027 and has mentioned in the past that it will take something “extraordinary” to tempt him out of there. In the same interview, he even goes on to say that he is really happy at Brentford which is “close to the perfect club for me”. However, there is no doubt that the jump from the London club to Manchester United is an inviting one, especially with the new ownership putting a structure in place to empower the manager. He has been with Brentford since 2018 and after an unexpected promotion, kept the club in the league against all odds, creating many superstars in the process. Making the most of his resources is precisely the opposite of what United have been doing for the last decade which could make him an enticing candidate for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co. Maybe an offer from Manchester United under INEOS is exactly the “extraordinary” thing Frank has always said would tempt him to leave Brentford. Want to be the first to hear breaking Man United news? Former Sundowns veteran retires from professional football
Former Mamelodi Sundowns veteran defender Ricardo Nascimento has announced his retirement from professional football aged 37. Nascimento enjoyed a career span of over 15 years as a professional although he was inactive for the past few months since leaving Royal AM. FORMER SUNDOWNS DEFENDER NASCIMENTO CALLS IT QUITS Nascimento started out at Brazilian giants Palmeiras in 2007 but it was at Penafiel where he made his full professional debut in 2009. He was introduced to South African football fans in 2016 by Sundowns where served them with distinction. The left-footed centre-back left the Brazilians for Royal AM having featured in 144 competitive matches while scoring 17 goals, according to Transfermarkt. At Royal AM, Nascimento featured in 31 competitive matches, scored three goals and provided two assists. However, he left them unceremoniously following disputes over unpaid salaries and signing-on fees before taking the club to FIFA. Nascimento won the case as FIFA ruled in his favour before imposing a transfer ban on Royal AM effective from 15 January 2024 as per UnplayableZA. NASCIMENTO’S HONOURS WITH THE BRAZILIANS Nascimento retires as one of the most decorated foreign internationals in the PSL after lifting multiple trophies with Sundowns. He won five DStv Premiership titles, one Nedbank Cup title, one MTN8 title and one Telkom Knockout Cup title to add to CAF Super Cup which was his first with Sundowns. It is only fair to mention that Nascimento was one of the first South American players to encourage Sundowns to step up their scouting in that continent with his performances. After Nascimento’s arrival, South American football descended the PSL, especially joining the Tshwane giants. They include but no limited to Gaston Sirino, Mauricio Affonso among others, and most recently Marcelo Allende and Matias Esquivel. The South African website wishes Nascimento a happy retirement as he ventures into a new chapter of his life.

It hasnt gone down well: Man United players not happy after club communication ahead of FA Cup final Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United players have reportedly been left angry and reeling after they were informed by the club via text that they will need to pay out of their own pockets to get their loved ones and family members to the FA Cup final. United are set to make their way to Wembley to take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Saturday, May 25. The occasion represents a golden opportunity for Erik ten Hag and his players to redeem the season and somewhat restore some of the dignity and pride that has already been lost. Winning the FA Cup would also guarantee United entry into the Europa League ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. The Mirror reports that the United players were informed by the club that they will almost certainly need to part with thousands of pounds to ensure their loved ones are at Wembley for the showpiece event. “Insiders told the Mirror that the team is “not happy” after learning that the ‘official trip’ normally paid for by the club will not be provided due to cost cuts.” WAGs and relatives of the Red Devils stars will have to pay for their own accommodation, travel and tickets to the game. The newspaper states that representatives of Ten Hag’s men are currently making personal arrangements to fly their families to London. A source told the news outlet, “With only recently being made aware of it and only being told by text, it hasn’t gone down well”, they said. “The club has offered to arrange hospitality or private boxes for the families but the players will be paying for it.” A ticket is estimated to cost between £1,000 – £2,000 for each person. They will be handed on a “first come first serve basis.” This is the latest action by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS in their efforts to drastically reduce operation costs at Old Trafford. The corporate cards of senior executives were previously cancelled. In addition to this, club staff were also sent an email last month confirming that they would receive just one complimentary ticket to the FA Cup final. It was also relayed to the United employees that they must pay £20 to facilitate their coach travel. Meanwhile, the 20-time English champions return to action tomorrow when they take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in a high-stakes Premier League clash. Kermit Erasmus’ future at Orlando Pirates has come under question and reports suggest he could be on his way back to a former side! Erasmus has been plagued by injuries during the past two campaigns. Manchester United target Vitor Roque could head to FC Porto in swap deal for Pepê Man United News And Transfer News
1 The noise around Rasmus Hojlund has reached a fever pitch recently, with the Dane undergoing another barren spell in front of goal. From reports of teammates not trusting him enough, to some shocking stats displaying how he has been dealt an unwinnable hand at Manchester United, his dream move has been something of a nightmare. No wonder then that United are looking at further striking reinforcements in the summer window. Barcelona’s Brazilian prodigy Vitor Roque has been mentioned as one of the names near the top of the list. Of course, the last time United tried to get someone from Barcelona, it didn’t end too well, as Frenkie de Jong’s transfer saga (still ongoing) gave fans nightmares during Erik ten Hag’s first summer at the helm. The chase for Roque could take the same path as a recent report by Fichajes, via Portuguese newspaper A Bola states that Barcelona has something else in store for the player. The report says Roque could be used as a makeweight in Barcelona’s deal for Porto’s winger Pepê, who has a release clause of about €70 million. The Catalans are unable to pay that due to financial worries so sending Roque the other way will soften the financial blow while landing them their desired target. If Barcelona are interested in Pepê, then there is not much United can do to sweeten the deal for them as they don’t have many players to send the other way. Furthermore, Barcelona paid €30 million for Roque, with further add-ons taking it up to potentially €61 million. It is extremely unlikely that United get anywhere near that sum for a player who hasn’t kicked on since arriving from Brazil, let alone a teenager. Therefore, it might be best for United to let Barcelona and Porto do this deal as it is a unique one where it’s mutually beneficial for both sides and even United as long as they don’t get involved. Orlando Pirates set to deal Kaizer Chiefs crushing transfer blow!
Orlando Pirates set to deal Kaizer Chiefs crushing transfer blow!
Kaizer Chiefs were believed to be circling around for an Orlando Pirates star as a possible signing for next season. Chiefs and Pirates are not known to make direct deals, with players only moving on a free between the two. This was expected to be the case, when rumours broke out of Chiefs being ready to pounce on Mosele. The midfielder is currently on loan at Chippa from Pirates. His deal at the Buccaneers is set to expire at the end of the season. On Monday, this publication reported that both Amakhosi and the Chili Boys were ready to take him.  But now, according to iDiski Times, Mosele will snub both Chippa and Chiefs for a Pirates return.  Mosele to sign new Pirates deal? “Goodman Mosele will return to Orlando Pirates at the end of the season after his loan at Chippa United. He is set to sign a new contract at Orlando Stadium. This publication has established that they will recall Mosele and want to keep him for the upcoming season, despite his current contract ending in June 2024. The Buccaneers are also expected to hand the midfielder a new contract. This publication has established that Pirates will recall Mosele and want to keep him for the upcoming season, despite his current contract ending in June 2024. The Buccaneers are also expected to hand the midfielder a new contract.” Wrote the publication.  Heartbreak for Chiefs? That would be a crushing blow for Chiefs, who know that signing Mosele directly from Pirates is impossible. But with Pirates set to revamp their midfield without goings, departures from Thabang Monare and Fortune Makaringe could open up space. Chippa might still try and strike some sort of agreement with the Sea Robbers for the player.  Should Mosele really snub Chiefs and Chippa for a Pirates return, it remains to be seen how much game time he’ll receive.

Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes this summer Man United News And Transfer News
Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes this summer Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United’s transfer policy has left a lot to be desired over the last decade with the hierarchy at the club making mistake after mistake in the transfer market. The culture around Old Trafford has meant a plethora of top names have failed to leave their mark in Manchester as well as list of potential stars from the youth ranks failing to fulfil their potential after breaking into the first team. Creative midfielder Angel Gomes is certainly one that falls into that category, having been touted for a huge future at the club. However, after becoming the youngest player to represent United since Duncan Edwards in 1953, Gomes struggled to get going and made just ten appearances in a red shirt, only four of which in came the Premier League. In the summer of 2020, the academy product decided he wasn’t going to sign a new deal in Manchester and moved to Ligue 1 side Lille on a free transfer. Since then, Gomes has showed his quality, starring in the French league following a spell at Boavista in Portugal on loan, and is now attracting interest from top clubs around Europe. As reported by TBR football, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bringing the 23-year-old back to the Premier League, with Aston Villa and West Ham also monitoring him closely. There is also interest from Germany and Italy, with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan amongst those interested, should he leave the Paulo Fonseca’s side. It’s reported United have been keeping tabs on Gomes’ progress in France and haven’t closed the door on re-signing the midfield man, who has eight assists to his name this season. However, it’s Spurs who are the frontrunners for his signature and United fans might be forced to see another player leave the club and flourish right under their nose. The fact United allowed a player of Gomes potential walk out the door for nothing rather sums up the shoddy approach leading figures at the club have showed in the market recent years. Gomes was one of the most highly rated players to come through the youth teams over the last decade and United should have made more of his talent. Old Trafford has become a graveyard for players to showcase their skills and this is something INEOS must address if they are to get the club back to the top of English football. Kaizer Chiefs starlet signs new long-term deal!
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly reached an agreement with one of the club’s rising stars over a new long-term contract. The Amakhosi are not willing to lose any of their academy talents, and Donay Jansen is reportedly the latest rising star to sign a first team contract. According to reports, the prolific winger who hails from Reiger Park has been offered a four-year senior contract. Jansen signs new long-term deal at Kaizer Chiefs Jansen has been impressive for the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side over the past two years. He’ll now have to prove his worth in the first team, something many of his fellow reserve teammates have struggled to do at the club. “They are looking at next season already and they want to keep as many youngsters from their development as they can,” a Soccer Laduma report read regarding the Kaizer Chiefs starlet. “So for Donay (Jansen) it’s a four-year contract which will apparently run from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2028. They are tying most of their youngsters to long term contracts because they are looking at the future.” Donay Jansen with the @KaizerChiefs first team this morning. #DStvPrem pic.twitter.com/LJ92Zc7tN1 — Lorenz Köhler (@Lorenz_KO) September 14, 2023 In other news, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Ntokozo Sikhakhane has urged the club to release one of their struggling midfielders. Sikhakhane, a midfielder who wore the Amakhosi jersey between 2005 and 2007, believes Siyethemba Sithebe should return to his former club, AmaZulu. Sithebe joined the Glamour Boys at the beginning of last season; however, he’s struggled to get going at the mighty Amakhosi. With a cloud of uncertainty hovering over his Kaizer Chiefs career, Sikhakhane believes Sithebe simply isn’t good enough for the Glamour Boys. Chiefs urged to release Sithebe “They can release him. In games that he has played for Kaizer Chiefs, there’s nothing special he has done,” Sikhakhane told FARPost. “And I still believe that he’s not the top midfielder; he’s just a player. But because Chiefs, they just sign any player. Once you shine at Santos, they bring you in; therefore once you shine at AmaZulu, they bring you. “They don’t look at whether you’re going to fit in their style or in their structure. So, for Sithebe, he hasn’t been playing for two years, and he can’t prove himself in the last ten games. What was he doing all along? I think he’d do well at AmaZulu. I’d also advise him to go back.” Player Updates Our new soldiers reported for duty today. We officially welcome Siyethemba Sithebe to the Amakhosi Family after signing a 2 year contract. Orlando Pirates striker already has a new club for next season?
Orlando Pirates are already planning for the next season, with both incomings and outgoings in focus. Pirates made a number of signings during the off-season, as well as the January transfer window. They signed Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy, Siphelo Baloni from All Stars FC and Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants. They were joined by Karim Kimvuidi, Lesedi Kapinga and Patrick Maswanganyi. Then, in January, Pirates added the duo of Thabiso Lebitso and Thalenthe Mbatha. In January, stalwart Thembinkosi Lorch and Bienvenu Eva Nga both left the club for Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United respectfully.  Those players are expected to be followed out of the exit door by a few more, in the coming window. The likes of Zakhele Lepasa, Souaibou Marou, Sandile Mthethwa, among those touted for an exit. Another name that could enter that list soon is goalkeeper Richard Ofori. Another player who is believed to be on his way out of Pirates next season is Kermit Erasmus. Erasmus accepts he is leaving Pirates This publication reported last week, that Erasmus had seemingly accepted his fate at Pirates. The former Bafana Bafana international understands he will leave the club at the end of the season. Further hints of this came from a social media announcement he made about about signing for a new management agency.  Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Erasmus is on the radar of former club Cape Town City. Cape Town City next? “The Siya crew understands that City are a possible destination for the 33-year-old, having previously made an impact at the club before joining Mamelodi Sundowns in 2020. Erasmus enjoyed his football while he was at City, finding the back of the net regularly during his time at the club. The club had previously signed players who made an impact while they were in their 30s. Both Teko Modise and Mpho Makola made a good contribution at the club in the latter years of their careers.” Wrote the publication.  Erasmus is yet to feature for Pirates in 2024. It now looks increasingly unlikely that he will do so, however. With the club also making it no secret that they’re looking to revamp their strike force, it’s surely curtains for him.

Orlando Pirates are set to welcome the return of two key players next season. According to the latest transfer reports, two players who were out on loan this season are returning to Mayfair for the 2024/2025 campaign. Orlando Pirates duo returning home Midfielder Goodman Mosele, who was sent out on loan to Chippa United, looks set to return to Mayfair next season. Mosele has been in impressive form for the Chilli Boys this season. The holding midfielder made 25 appearances for the club thus far, scoring one goal. “This publication has established that Pirates will recall Mosele and want to keep him for the upcoming season, despite his current contract ending in June 2024. The Buccaneers are also expected to hand the midfielder a new contract,” an IDiskiTimes report read. Another player who will return to the Buccaneers is rising star Boitumelo Radiopane. “Boitumelo Radiopane will return to Orlando Pirates at the end of the season when his loan expires at Cape Town Spurs,” veteran agent Mike Makaab told FARPost. Radiopane spent the season out on loan at Cape Town Spurs. After missing the first half of the campaign due to injury, Radiopane was carefully used by Ernst Middendorp in his quest to save the Cape side from relegation. Unfortunately for Spurs, they were unable to avoid the dreaded drop and will be competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season, without Radiopane. I wont give him another chance Pirates legend blasts Ndlondlo
Orlando Pirates legend Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi has criticised Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s performance against Richards Bay this past weekend. The 28-year-old midfielder produced a poor performance as the Buccaneers lost 1-0 to the Natal Rich Boys. A DStv match defeat saw Pirates miss an opportunity to move to second place on the log. Ndlondlo featured 19 times for the Sea Robbers in the league this season but has not scored or provided an assist. Speaking on iDiski TV, ex-Pirates star Vilakazi said Ndlondo should not be given another chance. “I’m so disappointed,” he said. “For me, I don’t think I’d give him a chance again until he proves himself again at training and be the Ndlondlo that I know. “At Pirates they still have that triangle the only thing he needs to do is just to play simple. I know it’s not easy to play for a big team like Pirates, Chiefs and Sundowns but you make it easier by playing the nearest man. Ndlondlo blamed for Pirates’ defeat against Richards Bay “Sometimes you get the ball and there is the space in front of you, so go and attack that space until somebody comes and commits themselves. “I don’t know whether it’s the coaching he is getting at Pirates or it’s him who decided that my game is going to be this way because he is no longer that Ndlondlo that would get into spaces, attack, have a combination with the striker or an attacking midfielder. Vilakazi left frustrated by Ndlondlo after Bucs shock defeat “He is no longer doing that. And the way his game is going he is not going to be an important player at Pirates. He will end up leaving the team,” Vilakazi added. Ndlondlo’s first season at Pirates was impressive, managing to score three times in all competitions. The second season has been tough for the former Marumo Gallants star and might be leaving the club. The Buccaneers have two DStv Premierships remaining before concluding their season. After that, they will contest in the Nedbank Cup final against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at the Mbombela Stadium.

In what will come as shocking news, Sekhukhune United have reportedly placed head coach Lehlohonolo Seema on ‘special leave’. This comes with just two games to go before the end of the season which was undoubtedly saved by Seema after a poor start to it. Seema joined Babina Noko in November 2023, taking over from Brandon Truter, and at the time, they were in the bottom half of the PSL log. The former Bloemfontein Celtic mentor has taken them to fourth on the DStv Premiership log, and they look set to finish in that position. Reasons around Seema’s placement on special leave are yet to be established but SABC Sport reports that MacDonald Makhubedu and Paulus Masehe will oversee the remaining two league games. And this means chances of Seema returning to his head coaching position for next season are slim to non-existent. This despite the fact that Sekhukhune United and Seema reportedly agreed to a three-year deal when the mentor first arrived. SEKHUKHUNE UNITED PLACE SEEMA ON ‘SPECIAL LEAVE’ “Sekhukhune United have placed head coach Lehlohonolo Seema on ‘special leave’ with just two DStv Premiership matches to go,” reads part of the report. “SABC Sport has established that the decision to sideline seems now means the coach is likely to vacate his post at the end of the season. “It’s understood Seema had initially been handed a three-year deal by the club, and with favourable results recently and the likelihood Sekhukhune would finish in fourth place on the table the latest developments come as a surprise.” SEEMA’S RECORD AT BABINA NOKO Seema has done a fantastic job as head coach of Babina Noko since his appointment. He has taken charge of 21 competition games. He won eight of those, drew nine and lost four while a streak of five consecutive wins earned him a coach of the month award; a first by Sekhukhune United coach.

1 Manchester United succumbed to their 14th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday, this time to Arsenal with the club languishing in eighth place and in danger of missing out on qualification for Europe altogether. Despite a 0-4 thrashing at the hands of Crystal Palace, Erik ten Hag was forced to start Casemiro and Jonny Evans at the heart of the defence again at Old Trafford. The Brazilian was at fault yet again as he failed to step up quickly which allowed the Gunners to score the game’s only goal through Leandro Trossard. The former Real Madrid superstar is not a natural centre-back and is having to play there due to the injuries suffered by the remaining defenders. Defensive reinforcement required The club has already announced that Raphael Varane is set to leave at the end of the season while Evans’ deal is also coming to an end in June. Add to this the fact that both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have been linked with exits and it is clear to see that an elite central defender is required to bolster the ranks. The club’s prime defensive target is Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite due to his age and his Premier League experience, traits which are highly-valued by new co-owners INEOS. Due to rising PSR concerns, the Toffees need to conduct sales before June ends and there were reports stating that the England international might be moved on with United eyeing a cut-price deal for the 21-year-old. However, the team from Merseyside are desperate to try and hold on to their most-prized asset with The Peoples Person recently relaying that the club will try and convince the defender to stay for one more season. And as for balancing the books, Football Insider have now claimed Sean Dyche’s men will sanction the sale of midfielder Amadou Onana, coincidentally another United target, instead of Branthwaite. Onana out, Branthwaite to stay “Everton are planning to “sacrifice” Amadou Onana this summer in a bid to keep Jarrad Branthwaite at the club, sources have told Football Insider. Everton are aware they will need to sell players this summer in a bid to avoid breaching Premier League financial rules again. Sources told Football Insider earlier this month that Everton are trying to persuade Branthwaite to stay for one more season. “It is believed crunch talks will be held between the player’s camp and the Merseysiders at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.” The 20-time English league champions have the chance to go after both but the club will first need to sell players in order to fund their recruitment spree. And both Onana and Branthwaite will likely be sold for a huge profit. Whether one sale is enough for Everton remains to be seen. As for United, hopefully, INEOS can convince the Sean Dyche’s team to sell the Englishman if indeed he is their top defensive target. Want to be the first to hear breaking Man United news? Next Mfundo Vilakazi? Chiefs offer youngster new long-term deal!
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly decided the future of one of their star players, ahead of the next season.  Chiefs are looking to keep with their tradition of promoting young players and giving them a chance in the seniors.  There has been a long list of Chiefs development players who have eventually become first-team members. Looking at the current squad, you can go back as far as veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune. The former Bafana Bafana number one was promoted to the first team all of 20 years ago now. Defender Zitha Kwinika, was promoted as Macheke in 2015, before going off to enjoy first team football elsewhere. After spells at Chippa United, Bidvest Wits and Stellenbosch FC, he returned home ahead of the 2022/23 season.  Chiefs have continued with youth tradition And of the younger brigade, Happy Mashiane, Nkonsigiphile Ngcobo, Sabelo Radebe, Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane and Mfundo Vilakazi. Chiefs recently announced a new four-year senior deal for Vilakazi, who is now making more appearances from the bench. Duba who also had his moments earlier this year is believed to be next to have his senior contract signed. If that wasn’t enough, it is believed versatile star Donay Jansen will also get a new senior deal.  Jansen was promoted to the Chiefs first team at the same time as Vilakazi. Although yet to make his first team bow, he is edging ever so closer, having made the subs bench against AmaZulu.  Jansen next to benefit? “They are looking at next season already and they want to keep as many youngsters from their development as they can. So for Donay (Jansen) it’s a four-year contract which will apparently run from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2028. They are tying most of their youngsters to long term contracts because they are looking at the future. Most of these youngsters are good players. They just need to be given a playing chance and with a good mixture of youth and experience Chiefs can be the team to look up to in the next few seasons starting from next season,” said the source to Soccer-Laduma.  At the age of 21, Jansen will be hoping to get his first team opportunities as soon as possible at Chiefs.

Liverpool have announced ticket information for their ‘An Evening With Jurgen Klopp‘ event at the M&S Bank Arena, with Anfield regulars given priority. Nine days after his final game in charge of Liverpool, Klopp will take part in a special farewell event in the city. Held at the M&S Bank Arena on Tuesday, May 28, ‘An Evening With Jurgen Klopp‘ will feature a live Q&A with the departing manager. It will be hosted by LFCTV’s Peter McDowall and comedian John Bishop, with performances from the Lightning Seeds, the Zutons and Alfie Boe. Registration for tickets closed at 8am on Monday, May 13, with sales starting at 2pm on Wednesday, May 15. Ahead of the sale, Liverpool have announced criteria for those eligible to purchase tickets, which are only available to season-ticket holders and 2023/24 official members who have pre-registered. ‘An Evening With Jurgen Klopp‘ Ticket Prices Price Tier 1 – £57 Price Tier 2 – £47 Price Tier 3 – £37 Those wishing to purchase tickets also need to have 13 or more credits for Premier League home games between the 2022/23 season and now. It shows how sought-after an event ‘An Evening With Jurgen Klopp‘ will be – and how fierce the demand is for tickets to not only see Liverpool play, but also to attend the manager’s send-off. Speaking in his pre-Aston Villa press conference last week, Klopp distanced himself from the organisation of the event, but made it clear that he was happy to attend for those who want to see him. “It’s neither my idea nor am I involved in any kind of organisation, so I don’t think I could even organise tickets if I’m right,” he explained. “But it’s fine. I’m not involved in that, I have no clue what happens that night. “I said whatever people ask me to do, in that perspective I will do. If somebody wants me wherever, as much as I can make it happen, I will make it happen. “Obviously it’s no problem to come a week after, or nine days after, the season’s over, to come back here. “If the people want that, I will be here. That’s no doubt. I assume it will probably be good. “I hope so, no pressure on the people organising it, but it would be nice if we could be a little bit funny! “I heard John Bishop would be there, that’s a good chance that it will be funny.”

Khephren Thuram available for bargain fee a year after Liverpool interest Liverpool FC
Khephren Thuram available for bargain fee a year after Liverpool interest Liverpool FC
After rumoured interest from Liverpool came to nothing last summer, OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram is now claimed to be available for a bargain price. Last summer, the rumour mill on Merseyside was dominated by two names: Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone. The French midfielders were widely touted as part of the regeneration of Jurgen Klopp‘s engine room, with supporters convinced they were ideal signings. Ultimately, neither made the switch to Anfield, with Liverpool instead bringing in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and – after bids for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia failed – Wataru Endo. Thuram stayed at Nice and Kone, who spent much of the transfer window injured, remained at Borussia Monchengladbach. Liverpool could enter the market for a midfielder again this summer as Thiago prepares to depart, but it remains to be seen who they could target. It is interesting, though, that French publication Nice-Matin reports that, with one year left on his deal, Nice could now sell Thuram for between €15 million (£12.9m) and €20 million (£17.2m). However, it is explained that Thuram’s form has been “far from expectations” this season, which led to a frosty reception from supporters at times, though he has “finished strong at the end of the season.” Thuram has made 27 appearances for Nice this season, the majority of which have come as a No. 8, while he also featured for France U23s in two friendlies in March. That is likely to see him involved at the Olympics at the end of July, which could of course hamper any transition to a new club. Whether Liverpool would even consider a move for the 23-year-old is questionable, with there contact with the player’s representatives last summer before interest ended upon the arrival of Szoboszlai. Ibrahima Konate spoke on more than one occasion of his desire to play alongside his “little brother” at Anfield, though, and if another midfielder is required, perhaps the deal could be revisited. Nice-Matin‘s report adds that Thuram’s team-mate, Jean-Clair Todibo, will “inevitably” leave Nice in the summer, and the centre-back has also been on Liverpool’s radar. It could be argued that centre-back is more of a priority position heading into the transfer window, with Joel Matip likely to leave on a free transfer.
