Manchester United striker Charlie McNeill set to leave the club this summer Man United News And Transfer News
1 A busy summer is expected at Manchester United with INEOS taking charge of their first transfer window since gaining control of the sporting structure at the club. Incomings and outgoings are predicted with Erik ten Hag’s squad in desperate need of an overhaul after a woeful campaign saw them register their lowest-ever Premier League finish. United were well short in attacking areas throughout the season and will be looking to add quality to their front line in the market. However, they are also set to let a young prodigy leave the club after failing to break his way into the first team. As reported by MSN news, 20-year-old striker Charlie McNeill will be released in the coming weeks having fell down the pecking order at Old Trafford. Since signing for United from neighbours Manchester City for a £750,000 fee in 2020, McNeill has registered just one appearance for the first team. His late cameo against Real Sociedad in the Europa League will go down as his only minutes in the Theatre of Dreams, a disappointing return having joined the club with high expectations. The Englishman was loaned out twice during his time at United, first to Newport County and second to League One side, Stevenage Town. McNeill chalked up 20 appearances for Newport, scoring twice in the 2022/23 season, before a disappointing spell at Stevenage saw injuries limit him to just three games for The Boro. The striker did return to Manchester in January and has played for the under-21 side in the second half of this season. McNeill has trained with the first-team squad but failed to make a strong enough impression on Ten Hag despite United’s lack of options upfront. Ethan Wheatley and Joe Hugill are two youngsters who have jumped above McNeill in the charge for a first-team place and it’s resulted in the striker seeking pastures anew. Additionally, United are expected to go into the market for a ready-made forward player this summer which will only further block his route to the matchday squads. Everyone connected with United will wish McNeill all the best with whatever the future holds for the striker. Want to be the first to hear breaking Man United news? Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates battle for African international!
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates battle for African international!
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are believed to be going head to head for a number of transfer targets. Chiefs and Pirates are both known for wanting to boost their respective squads with the best quality available. Looking to buy a good quality pre-owned vehicle, click here! It is believed that, this time around it will be no different between the two Soweto giants. This, of course, will inevitably see them clash for certain targets. According to reports they’re already clashing for Stanley Nwabali, Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Riaan Hanamub and Shaune Mogaila. That does not seem to be where the list ends, however, with a new name set to be part of the tug-of-war.  Pirates and Chiefs battling in the market In fact, just three weeks ago this publication reported that Chiefs had joined Pirates in the race for Freddy Kouablan. Last month, both were thought to be in the race for Chippa United star Baraka Majagoro. TS Galaxy’s Thato Khiba has also since entered the list. That just proves that both clubs are looking to strengthen their forward lines ahead of next season. Now the latest name to be discussed by both clubs suggests their defensive lines are also a targeted area for improvement.  It now appears that the two Soweto Giants are ready to move on from Nwabali as a potential goalkeeper. According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs and Pirates are targeting Angolan international Neblu.  Switch attention to Neblu? “I can confirm to you that Neblu has triggered interest in the PSL. The player’s handlers are currently in talks with at least three teams at the moment. Yes, they star are Teboho big clubs in the league. Neblu is a top goalkeeper and at 30 years old he has reached maturity. He has been in the national team of Angola set up since 2012, either the A team or the CHAN side that he has captained for many times. His top performances at the recent AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire were proof of his remarkable progress although his impressive work was overshadowed by the red card he got against Namibia,” said the source.  It remains to be seen if Chiefs or Pirates will eventually make an offer for Neblu, with both looking for a goalkeeper.

Rulani Mokwena to spend more time in Courts during pre-season?
Rulani Mokwena to spend more time in Courts during pre-season?
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena appears likely to spend more time in Courts than with his family and friends during pre-season. This comes after TS Galaxy and their coach Sead Ramovic took legal action against Mokwena for the remarks he made on 29 April. TS Galaxy had visited Sundowns in their first round fixture of the season where Bongani Zungu was injured by Orebotse Mongae. After the match, Mokwena said TS Galaxy went into that encounter with a sole purpose of injuring Zungu as revenge for breaking Bernard Parker’s leg in October 2023. And that statement didn’t sit well with TS Galaxy and Ramovic, and they demanded that Mokwena retracts the comments but he did not. Now, ahead of Tuesday’s encounter, The South African reported that Mokwena had been summoned by the two parties at the Johannesburg High Court. And the Sundowns coach has now responded to that legal action by TS Galaxy and Ramovic, saying he will meet them at the High Court before quickly shifting focus to his players. RULANI TO TS GALAXY AND RAMOVIC: ‘LET’S MEET IN COURT’ No, I don’t want to talk about anything. They have taken me to court. So, let’s meet in court,” Mokwena told reporters in Mbombela as per FarPost. “I don’t worry about TS Galaxy; I have to worry about Sundowns. I am employed by Sundowns. In this moment with the feelings that I have, I have to be very proud of my players because it was a difficult game to play. “It was very tough, emotionally, physically and really they dug deep and showed incredible mentality. That’s the feeling I would like to leave Mbombela with. I would like to leave Mbombela with a feeling of pride, gratitude, and appreciation for the efforts and hard work of these special Mamelodi Sundowns group of players.” PITSO HAS ALREADY SUBPOENAED MOKWENA AND MNGQITHI With that said, this would be Mokwena’s second time at the same Court after he was subpoenaed by former Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane. Mosimane is embroiled in a bitter legal battle with Sundowns over an R8.6 million compensation fee that the club is demanding back. That relates to the four-year contract that Mosimane signed with Sundowns in 2020 but failed to honour as he left to join Al Ahly. All Mosimane wants from both Mokwena and Mngqithi is for them to tell the High Court the terms and conditions of their contracts. At the time, both Mokwena and Mngqithi were assistants to Mosimane at Sundowns before becoming co-coaches when the Kagiso-born mentor left for Al Ahly.

I want to play for Sundowns they are dangerous
Mamelodi Sundowns have a new admirer. TS Galaxy‘s Lehlohonolo Mojela has openly flirted with Kabo Yellow. LEHLOHONOLO MOJELA SAYS HE WANTS TO PLAY FOR MAMELODI SUNDOWNS The 27-year-old Mojela has not been at the Rockets for a very long time. The pacy forward signed for TS Galaxy at the start of this season after impressing Sead Ramovic in a friendly match against Casric Stars. Sundowns are now his next dream. Speaking to the media about reports linking him to the big teams, the attacker with seven goals and one assist said his heart is with Sundowns. “I want to play for Sundowns, but for now, I’m focusing on TS Galaxy because that’s where I have a contract. I think coach Rulani [Mokwena] is a fantastic coach and Sundowns is very dangerous,” Mojela said as quoted by FARPost. HLOMPHO KEKANA WARNS ITUMELENG KHUNE Staying with Sundowns, the club’s former captain, Hlompho Kekana, has sent a message to Kaizer Chiefs’ 36-year-old goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune. Khune was honoured for 25 years of service as a Kaizer Chiefs player last Saturday. The Ventersdorp-born legend later told the media that is not retiring. “This journey is still long,” he told SuperSport TV’s Lerato Phago, as quoted by iDiski Times. “We’re still going to see each other, we’re still going to travel together, as much as we have been traveling it and I appreciate everything that everyone has done for me. “It’s not a farewell. The club made it clear that they are honouring me for 25 years of service. They didn’t say ‘we’re bidding farewell to Itumeleng Khune’. “I think we will go back, sit down and discuss the future. But for now, nothing has been confirmed yet. “My legs can still carry me for the next couple of years, so I will continue giving my all whenever given the opportunity to don the black and gold jersey of Kaizer Chiefs,” Khune concluded. Meanwhile, the Sundowns legend Kekana has sent a warning to Khune. “I wish he could understand and face the reality that he will never play forever,” Kekana said on SABC’s Soccer Zone, as per FARPost.  “At this stage that he finds himself in, one would say leave the game before you start hating the game. “The reality says the system doesn’t want you anymore. So when the system doesn’t want you anymore, make sure that you move. You don’t want to watch football one day and hate it. “He played for Bafana; he captained the Kaizer Chiefs team, which won the league. I mean, he has done so much. What point does he want to prove, and to whom?” the former Sundowns captain concluded.

Bruno Fernandes wins Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for 2023/24 season Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United’s season has been nothing short of a long-running nightmare which can be salvaged a little with a victory in the FA Cup final. However, even in a season of despair, there have been some shining lights like the academy youngsters breaking through. Still, the one constant amidst all the drama and failure has been the consistent displays of captain Bruno Fernandes. The club have announced that Fernandes has been awarded the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for his exploits in the 2023/24 season. The award is given by the fans to the player they think contributed the most in the season. This is Fernandes’ third such award, with him winning it consecutively in 2019/20 and 2020/21 as well. Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford won the last two awards but the captain has come back to win it this time on the back of carrying an anemic attack to some relevancy. Despite United having their lowest-ever league finish and finishing the league campaign with a goal difference of -1, Fernandes played a part in 18 goals in the league (ten goals and eight assists). United scored only 57 goals the whole season so he was directly responsible for about one-third of the club’s output. In all competitions, he finished with 15 goals and 12 assists and was the clear heart of everything creative that United managed to do. Such was his commitment to the cause, that he was playing with a broken hand when players around him were falling. He had to ultimately miss games due to his own issues as well, for the first time in his career, a remarkable feat that puts into perspective his importance to the team. With this award, Bruno now moves into second place in the all-time winners list, behind just David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo, both with four wins. He would just want to add some team silverware now to his personal tally, with the FA Cup final providing his next chance. Want to be the first to hear breaking Man United news? Kaizer Chiefs will finally put this disappointing season to bed on Saturday. However, six players will not be part of the team to face Cape Town Spurs. Defender, Edmilson Dove, will also miss his third game in a row after he picked up his second red card of the season against TS Galaxy two weeks ago,” Kaizer Chiefs concluded. THATAYAONE DITLHOKWE MOTIVATED Talking about players and injuries, Ditlhokwe has been back to full fitness. The 25-year-old Mostwana confirmed that Amakhosi are fully determined to seal a top eight place. “As we come to the end of the season, in my opinion it hasn’t gone as well as had hoped,” Ditlhokwe told the club’s media. “I was out for almost six months, but that’s football, you know. Injuries are part of the game. Being unable to play has been difficult but now I am grateful to have recovered fully “This last game is still very important and we are preparing very seriously in order to solidify our spot in the Top 8. They may already be relegated but that can make them dangerous because they have nothing to lose, and we have a lot to lose. Therefore, we are preparing to be at our best. There is a chance of the other teams on the same points overtaking us, which is why we are focused first and foremost on winning against Spurs, and hopefully scoring a few goals. “Every player is fully motivated to get the result we need, especially for our supporters, who have been behind us all the way, even when we haven’t done so well. So, we really want to end the season well and give them something to look forward to next season,” the towering Kaizer Chiefs central defender concluded. Meanwhile, a possible failure to beat the Urban Warriors will give the likes of AmaZulu, Golden Arrows and Polokwane City an opportunity to sneak into the top eight.

TS Galaxy star offers himself to Mamelodi Sundowns
TS Galaxy star attacker Bradley Mojela has blatantly offered himself to newly crowned DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns. Mojela was speaking to Andile Ncube on Sports Night Amplified on Metro FM just a day after facing Sundowns at Mbombela Stadium. The two sides – TS Galaxy and Sundowns – played to a thrilling 1-1 draw with Mojela giving his counterparts a tough time. The 27-year-old, however, is aware that he’s still contracted to TS Galaxy and he said that’s where his focus is for now. Mojela reiterated that if it was up to him, he would go to Sundowns irrespective of the stiff competition there, saying he’s confident he can fit in. The diminutive attacking midfielder is in his first year with TS Galaxy and this was his debut season, but he’s already dreaming big. He was signed from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars after it became evident that he’s got huge potential to shine brighter. Nonetheless, Mojela’s efforts, at the time, were not enough to help Casric Stars ga gain promotion as they failed in the play-offs. TS GALAXY STAR MOJELA OFFERS HIMSELF TO SUNDOWNS “Maybe they (Sundowns) will sign me,” said Mojela. “I really want to play for Sundowns … for now I am focusing on TS Galaxy because that is where I am contracted. “But if it were up to me, I would go there (to Sundowns).” WHAT ARE MOJELA’S DEBUT SEASON NUMBERS? Mojela has, so far, featured in 26 league games for the Rockets, and has contributed four goals in the process. Overall, he has played a whopping 33 matches across all competitions and scored seven goals which is decent for a PSL rookie.

Liverpool FC valued over 14 times what FSG paid in 2010 Liverpool FC
Fenway Sports Group have been Liverpool’s owners since 2010 and have overseen incredible financial growth, taking a club close to administration to the fourth-most valuable football team. In October, it will be the 14th anniversary of FSG taking over at Anfield, having parted with £300 million to take the club out of the hands of Tom Hicks and George Gillett. They have not done everything right, far from it, but they have made the club sustainable and played a significant part in taking Liverpool back to the top of club football. On Thursday, Forbes released their list of the most valuable football teams for 2024, and Liverpool were ranked fourth with a valuation of £4.2 billion ($5.37 billion). That is 14 times the amount FSG parted with in 2010! The valuation sees Liverpool sit behind only Real Madrid (£5.19 billion), Man United (£5.15 billion) and Barcelona (£4.4 billion) in Forbes’ world standings. Under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds were restored to their perch on the field, and off it, FSG selling minority stakes to RedBird Capital and Dynasty Equity will have played its part in the valuation. This is in addition to broadcast deals, various commercial deals and kit sponsorships – which is set to see Liverpool swap Nike for Adidas from 2025/26. Liverpool’s operating income, as per Forbes, sits at £79.4 million ($102 million), the lowest of the top five – which includes Man City, who are valued at £4 billion. The Reds are in the midst of significant change on and off the field, with a new-look hierarchy that heralded the return of Michael Edwards and the appointment of Arne Slot as head coach.

I want to play for Sundowns TS Galaxy star ignores Chiefs and Pirates
TS Galaxy attacker Lehlohonolo Mojela says his dream is to play for Mamelodi Sundowns despite interests from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. The 27-year-old forward has scored four goals in 26 matches for the Rockets this campaign. Speaking to Andile Ncube on the Sports Night Amplified, Mojela expressed his ambitions to join DStv Premiership champions Sundowns. “Maybe they [Sundowns] will sign me,” said the TS Galaxy striker. “I really want to play for Sundowns, but for now I am focusing on TS Galaxy because that is where I am contracted. “I am focusing on my current job. But if it were up to me, I would go there [to Sundowns]. It will depend on the [Galaxy] chairman,” Mojela added. TS Galaxy’s Mojela keen to join Sundowns, ignores Chiefs and Pirates The TS Galaxy star is eligible to play for both Bafana Bafana and Lesotho but he sees Bafana as a better option. “I have had an opportunity to play for Lesotho. I have Lesotho roots,” he added. “They [Lesotho FA] called me, saying I should change my international allegiance and apply for Lesotho citizenship so that I can play for the Lesotho national team. “But I declined because I want to play for South Africa and I believe I deserve it (Bafana call up), I have worked hard. I give central defenders a lot of stress,” the TS Galaxy star added. “Every time we play, two or three defenders are assigned to mark me.” Galaxy star rejects Lesotho, wants to play for Bafana With TS Galaxy attacker scoring just four times this season, Sundowns are unlikely to capture his signature. Chiefs have struggled this campaign and might need to restructure their attacking department next season. Mojela has not earned a cap for Bafana Bafana with the likes of Khanyiso Mayo and Iqraam Rayners showing good form.

Liverpools Matt Beard wins Manager of the Season after nearly DOUBLING points tally Liverpool FC
Liverpools Matt Beard wins Manager of the Season after nearly DOUBLING points tally Liverpool FC
Liverpool boss Matt Beard insists his Barclays manager of the season award is “great recognition for everyone” after finishing fourth in the Women’s Super League. Liverpool achieved their highest position since 2014, when they won the WSL title, and ended the campaign with four straight wins including victories over Chelsea and Manchester United, which helped them finish above the latter. Beard was recognised for his team’s performance over the course of the season by being given the award at the League Managers Association dinner. “I’m very grateful and very humbled,” Beard told the PA news agency. “It’s great to see the work we have done has been recognised as always, we couldn’t do it without the staff or the players so this award is not just about me, it’s about the collective so from that side it’s great recognition for everyone. “It’s not just me. I’m the figurehead of it all but the players have performed, the staff have worked tirelessly for the club. “It’s an interesting one, could we do a whole backroom team award rather than a manager’s one because there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes with people we don’t see. “I get a bit embarrassed by it all if I’m honest with you but for me, I couldn’t do what I do without the people I have with me.” Liverpool’s fourth place finish behind Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal took them to within one spot of qualifying for the Champions League, which Beard insists is the next obvious goal for them as they look to build on a successful season. He added: “The Champions League is the logical next step for us. We are under no illusions on how tough that will be, you can even include Manchester United in that, what they spend. “Statistically we were much better than what we were last year so now we need to step that up a level next season. “It’ll be tough to break into that top three, Man United are the only team that’s done it – that’s our ambition but for me it’s about how we improve on this season’s points tally.” Liverpool previously used to share League Two club Tranmere’s training ground before spending a number of week’s at the men’s AXA training centre, but moved back into the men’s team’s former facility Melwood ahead of the 2023-24 season. Beard insists the move into their own facility has been key to their success on the field this season. He said: “Whenever you share a facility like we did at Tranmere – and I had a great working relationship with the staff there – it’s their training ground so we are constantly having to work around them. “Even when we were at the academy at pre-season we were having to work around the (under-)21s so to have your own bespoke facility, it’s vitally important so we’re not having to move training sessions or classroom sessions for whatever reason. “The facility itself is world-class, there’s a lot of history created here so that’s also had a big impact on the players as well.”

Pirates legend: I called them to kidnap me from Chiefs at night
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates used to be the most desirable destinations for players in the country.  While nowadays playing abroad is the objective, back in the days playing for Chiefs or Pirates was regarded the pinnacle.  Looking to buy a good quality pre-owned vehicle, click here! The desire to join either Chiefs or Pirates is often fuelled by certain factors. In those days money was not the objective, motivation nor even present in South African football. What the players had was the love for the game and their clubs. What attracted one to a Chiefs or Pirates was the desire for trophies or even popularity. Alternatively, in a case where both wanted you, you’d pick the club you or your family members support.  Soweto giants players swapping sides? But nowadays, you see players making the choice with a more professional mindset, rather than their hearts. A player who grew up supporting Chiefs could end up joining Pirates instead, because of a better offer, and vice versa. In fact, some of the greatest legends from either side of the Soweto divide grew up supporting their rivals. It is also common for the two club’s academy products to end up playing for the other side.  Pirates legend Siyabonga Sangweni is one in a long list of examples of that. Ntsimbi, as he was affectionately known, details how he escaped the Chiefs academy in 1999. Pirates legend Sangweni escaped Chiefs in 1999 “The team that I was playing for fetched me from Chiefs Academy. In 1999, I was in the Kaizer Chiefs academy but I ran away, Bobby [Motaung] knows the story. The likes of Jabu Pule and [Nhlanhla] Kubheka, we were in that team that was going to be promoted. But I just felt that this thing of being given R200 to buy a bathing soap while at home there is a team that can give me R1500 salary…I would be able to share a little with my mother from that. told them [Bongani FC owners] to fetch me at night, they came and stole me. At Chiefs, they woke up and I was no longer there. They eventually saw me emerge at Golden Arrows and it was late.” Detailed Sangweni to FARPost. Chiefs fans can only wonder what could’ve been, had Sangweni been theirs instead of Pirates.

Makhanya backs Pirates to challenge Sundowns next season
“We must give credit to what coach Jose [Riveiro] has done [at Orlando Pirates],” said Makhanya. Former Orlando Pirates winger Joseph “Dukuduku” Makhanya has praised coach Jose Riveiro for the work he has done at the club since his arrival in July 2022. ALSO READ: Mokwena calls on Sundowns fans to learn from Man City Riveiro has won three trophies in his two seasons with the Buccaneers and could add the fourth if Pirates beat Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the Nedbank Cup next week Saturday. The Spanish coach won the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup last season and he  successfully defended the MTN8 title this season. “We must give credit to what coach Jose [Riveiro] has done [at Orlando Pirates] because in the past season he won cups. Yes, Sundowns have been cleaning the trophy cabinet in terms of winning the league titles, but Pirates have been winning cups. If we look at the current season, coach Jose won the MTN8, which was a good start for him and it also kind of alleviated pressure from him. Maybe he needed that pressure to make sure that he continues putting pressure on Sundowns,” said Makhanya during the Arena Sports Show podcast. “When I look at the other teams, which team is closer to challenging Sundowns? It has to be Pirates and I would like to believe that at the rate that they are currently going, maybe they will step up and challenge Sundowns next season,” he added. ALSO READ: Galaxy boss Sukazi gives Chiefs green light to speak to Ramovic Meanwhile, Makhanya has revealed his choices for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) end of the season awards. “I will give the Coach of the Season award to Rulani. For the Footballer of the season, it’s a toss between Tito [Patrick Maswanganyi] and Ronwen [Williams], but also not forgetting the Brazilian [Lucas] Ribeiro, I think he did a sterling job as well. That tells you that if you want to bring foreigners into the country, those are the kind of foreigners you must bring. He has set the benchmark a bit higher. He’s very strong on the ball and is scoring goals. He’s a marvel to watch.”

Liverpool FC coach showed up to interview like he wants to sell insurance Liverpool FC
Jurgen Klopp was tickled by one of his coaches showing up to his interview in a suit, especially as it was a complete contrast to what he’d known from another colleague. Klopp leaves the club this summer with seven members of his coaching staff, and more could follow as Liverpool undergo a significant season of change. Jack Robinson, assistant goalkeeping coach, is one of the figures moving on after nearly six years at Anfield, and Klopp will evidently never forget his first impression of him. An interview at Melwood and Robinson’s accompanying video was the subject of conversation as part of the club’s farewell content, ‘The Last Debrief‘ – involving all departing coaches. But what he wore is what triggered Klopp’s booming laugh, as he explained: “We were all sitting in the coaches’ room and Jack came in for his, how do you call that? First talk. And he wore a suit!” Between bouts of laughter, the German added: “I mean, he’s a goalkeeper! They do strange things, but we were used to other goalkeepers (points to John Achterberg), obviously. “And he shows up in a suit!” Pep Lijnders, sitting between Robinson and Vitor Matos throughout the video, added: “First question, can you really shoot left and right [foot]? Or have you just turned it around?” Robinson, who played with James Milner at under-16 level, clearly impressed with his ability and yet could not escape attention going straight back to his attire. Klopp explained: “We watched the video, and he was like the perfect footballer! I said, ‘Why is he not playing’? He can shoot with the left, shoot with the right. He’s incredible. “And then this guy looks like he wants to sell insurance! You don’t fit in that suit still, do you?” The answer to that was, “Not quite in that suit anymore, no!” Either way, Robinson clearly made the right impression to get the job and work alongside Klopp and Co. for nearly six years. His departure, alongside Achterberg’s, has created further backroom vacancies for Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes to fill this summer.

Kaizer Chiefs next head coach: Two top contenders emerge
Kaizer Chiefs next head coach: Two top contenders emerge
Kaizer Chiefs next head coach search has been narrowed down. As the season concludes, Chiefs have honed in on their final choices, with a Portuguese mentor and South African legend leading the race.  The final two: Santos and Mosimane Kaizer Chiefs have zeroed in on two main candidates after extensive internal discussions. Alexandre Santos, a respected Portuguese coach, and Pitso Mosimane, a celebrated figure in South African football. Both have emerged as the top contenders for the prestigious role at Chiefs, but their availability remains a key factor. Decision Factors: Availability and Affordability Sources revealed that the choice will heavily depend on who is available and affordable. Despite previous rumours, TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic is no longer in the running. The source shared with Soccer Laduma: “Multiple meetings are happening at the club about the coaches. Right now, it’s down to Pitso Mosimane and Alexandre Santos. The challenge is their availability. Will Petro de Luanda release Santos? Will Abha Club keep Pitso if he avoids relegation in Saudi Arabia? It all boils down to availability and affordability.” Team dynamics: Technical staff considerations Both coaches will bring in their own technical teams. Which could impact the financial feasibility of their appointments. “Pitso(Mosimane) usually comes with his team, and Santos also has technical team members he wants to bring. Affordability is a major issue here. Which option can the club afford?” added the source. Commanding Respect: A Key Requirement Another critical aspect in Kaizer Chiefs decision is finding a coach who commands respect throughout the club. “The club wants a coach who can earn respect from players, the technical team, and everyone involved. They believe Pitso fits this requirement perfectly, but his availability is uncertain. If his contract is renewed, Santos becomes the favourite,” another source mentioned. Despite earlier speculations, Ramovic is not a primary candidate. “Ramovic wasn’t even mentioned in the latest meetings. It’s between Pitso and Santos now, depending on their affordability and availability,” the source concluded. Pitso Mosimane’s Battle in Saudi Arabia In other news, Pitso Mosimane’s tenure at Abha Club FC in the Saudi Pro League is reaching a critical juncture. With the club on the brink of suffering relegation. Mosimane faces a must-win match against Al Khaleej to keep their survival hopes alive. Abha’s dismal defensive record, conceding 84 goals, underscores the urgency of their situation. With 29 points, they must win and hope other results favour them to avoid relegation. This high-stakes scenario is Mosimane’s first relegation battle, highlighting the immense pressure as he fights to keep Abha in the top tier. Stay tuned as the Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach saga unfolds, and see if Pitso Mosimane can steer Abha Club FC to safety in the Saudi Pro League.

Benfica trigger Alvaro Fernandez buy option with Manchester United holding three clauses Man United News And Transfer News
Benfica trigger Alvaro Fernandez buy option with Manchester United holding three clauses Man United News And Transfer News
1 The loan army of Manchester United this season has been a bright spot in a wretched season at Old Trafford. The likes of Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, and Alvaro Fernandez, to name a few, have rehabilitated their value ahead of a pivotal summer window. While Sancho and Greenwood figure to be the protagonists of a summer saga, a straightforward deal for Fernandez has been completed. After greatly impressing at the Portuguese club, Fabrizio Romano reports that Benfica have triggered the option to buy the left-back. Benfica could buy the player for €6 million at the end of his loan spell as a part of the agreement which they have taken up. United will hold all three clauses that give them ultimate control over the player’s future still- buy-back clause, matching rights, and sell-on clause. It means that there is a set amount United can buy the player back from Benfica for and even if that expires, they will have the right to match an offer for him made by another club. Furthermore, if they wish to do neither, they will still stand to benefit from any future sale of Fernandez to another club. It is a positive departure from the kind of deals United used to make for their youngster who didn’t make the grade. Di’Shon Bernard, for example, came back from a successful loan spell in the Championship and was back to playing U21s football, effectively erasing his value. Having said that, there will still be an element of “what if” attached to this sale, especially with the benefit of hindsight. United have effectively played the whole season without a natural left-back available so the presence of Fernandez would have maybe given birth to another success story for the academy. However, there is no point looking back as the deal that has ultimately been done still gives United a lot of power and helps avoiding a Paul Pogba like situation. Kaizer Chiefs‘ search for a coach has taken an unexpected turn. Amakhosi have been suddenly linked with TS Galaxy’s head coach Sead Ramovic. What does his employer, Tim Sukazi say? The 45-year-old Serb-German has taken three years to build TS Galaxy. The Mbombela-based are one game away from finish in third place this season. Additionally, the club known as the Rockets won the silver medal of this season’s Carling Knockout title after losing 1-0 to Stellenbosch FC in the final last December. According to recent reports, Kaizer Chiefs are set to hold talks with the view of appointing Ramovic, among other candidates. Meanwhile, the TS Galaxy chairman, Sukazi, has commented on the reports. According to Sukazi, the Kaizer Chiefs reports are mere rumours. “When he got here [to TS Galaxy], I was told that I’ve got a plumber, we had two points after eight games and we’ll be relegated, why did I bring a plumber – a man with no experience,” Sukazi said via Metro FM, as quoted by SABC Sport. “I want a strong Kaizer Chiefs. I know what Ramovic can do, but I cannot sell him or tell Chiefs what they should do. If that will extend the blessings to SA football – one of which is that have a new rivalry after Chiefs and Pirates [between Galaxy and Downs], it provokes conversations in every corner. “So if that approach comes, in my view, it could be the turnaround for the biggest institution. I know he will bring them success, he will bring them a trophy, but I love him – he’s my coach,” Sukazi concluded. Did you know? Ramovic has faced Amakhosi on six ocassions and is yet to lose a match. The results have been four draws and two victories. Should Kaizer Chiefs go for Sead Ramovic? Let us know in the comments section below. LAST BATTLE OF THE SEASON In the meantime, the club known as the Glamour Boys have a final game of the DStv Premiership season to play this weekend. English footballs independent regulator plans paused for general election Liverpool FC
English footballs independent regulator plans paused for general election Liverpool FC
The Football Governance Bill, which would see the creation of an independent regulator for the sport, is expected to be paused due to the upcoming general election. Dame Tracey Crouch, the MP and former sports minister who oversaw the fan-led review that established the bill, has said it will not progress further in the current parliament. There was a possibility the bill could be included in the “wash-up” process, which will see some business hurried through before the dissolution of parliament on May 30. That now appears to have been ruled out as the bill, which has had two readings, is still too far from completion. A lot of people have poured their heart and soul into the Bill – officials, politicians, authorities, clubs and of course fans. I am 100% convinced there will be an Independent Regulator for football, thanks to the efforts of others and the desire for sustainability 2/… — Tracey Crouch (@tracey_crouch) May 23, 2024 However, considering that it has had cross-party support, there is an expectation that it will resume its progress in the next parliament. Crouch, who is standing down at the election on July 4, wrote on X: “Unfortunately the Football Governance Bill will progress no further and although there is a ready made Bill for the next Government, I won’t be here to see it pass. “I just wanted to say a massive thank you to EVERYONE who helped shape this Bill. A lot of people have poured their heart and soul into the Bill – officials, politicians, authorities, clubs and of course fans. “I am 100% convinced there will be an Independent Regulator for football, thanks to the efforts of others and the desire for sustainability. “My final plea is to the Premier League and EFL…please, for the sake of football, sit back down and start negotiating a deal. The impasse is infuriating. I know it is complex. But please, agree a deal. The End.”

Mason Greenwood puts house up for sale as exit from Manchester United edges closer Man United News And Transfer News
1 Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood’s long term future is likely to be decided this summer. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan in Spain with Getafe and has impressed for José Bordalás’ side. Greenwood hasn’t played for United since being charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault in January 2022. As reported by The Mirror, the Englishman may have just dropped the biggest hint yet that his future lies away from Old Trafford. Greenwood has listed his home in England up for rent, in a move that suggests he will not be needing the residence in the near future. The £2 million mansion is fully-furnished, boasting six-bedrooms and is available for £14,000 per month. United’s new minority owners, INEOS, had suggested they were open to reintegrating Greenwood back into the fold with Sir Jim Ratcliffe admitting they would take a “fresh look” at the situation. However, given the fan backlash when it was touted he was set to rejoin the squad last summer, it’s unlikely we will see him in a United shirt again. The irony is that United are crying out for a player of Greenwood’s profile to bolster their attacking threat and numbers for next season, leaving INEOS with a decision to make. Should United move the player on, the owners will be hoping to spark a bidding war for the talented forward, with multiple clubs reportedly interested in his signature. Leading lights in La Liga are said to be monitoring his situation closely, alongside other big clubs on the continent. It may be the case that United strike another loan deal for Greenwood, but with his contract expiring next summer the best chance of securing a decent fee is in the coming months. Mojela sends come and get me plea to Sundowns
‘I really want to play for Sundowns,’ said Mojela. TS Galaxy winger Bradley Mojela, who has had an excellent first season in the DStv Premiership, has said he would love to join champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The 27 year-old winger, who has four goals and one assist in the top flight this season, has previously been linked with a move to Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. But it seems like Mojela would rather join Sundowns. “Maybe they (Sundowns) will sign me,” Mojela told Andile Ncube on Sports Night Amplified “I really want to play for Sundowns … for now I am focusing on TS Galaxy because that is where I am contracted. “But if it were up to me, I would go there (to Sundowns).” No interest from Sundowns There has been no reciprocal interest reported from Sundowns in Mojela. Masandawana, indeed, may feel they are already well stocked in the wide attacking positions, though an abundance of talent has also never really stopped the Brazilians from going after more. Galaxy are having an excellent season and are currently fourth in the DStv Premiership, heading into their final league match of the season

Hes got attributes we dont have Manager hints at Ben Doaks Euro chances Liverpool FC
Ben Doak may not have played since December, but Scotland manager Steve Clarke is hopeful the 18-year-old can contribute to their Euros campaign this summer. Doak returned to full training with Liverpool at the end of the season after over four months out with a serious knee injury sustained in December. Despite that, he was named in Scotland’s 28-man provisional squad for this summer’s tournament, with two names to be cut before their campaign starts against Germany on June 14. The 18-year-old is one of five forwards in the team, and despite his long absence with injury and having no senior cap to his name, Clarke has hinted Doak will make the cut with some lavish praise. “Ben is fit and back training with his club,” manager Clarke said, as quoted by The Herald, ahead of the Tartan Army’s warm-up matches against Gibraltar and Finland. “He did a little bit with the team last week. We will speak to his club and keep in touch with them. “The first [warm-up] game might come a little bit too soon. But maybe in the second game, he can get some minutes on the pitch if I choose to do that. “At this stage, Ben is the young one who catches my eye if I am being honest. He has got something, attributes that we don’t have in the squad at the moment. “His searing pace would be one of them. When you watch Ben Doak play he grabs your attention. “But he has still got a lot to learn, as do all the young boys when you bring them in. Everyone has got to learn. “Ben hopefully will be a big player for us in the future, and maybe this summer he can make a little contribution as well.” Scotland are in a group with hosts Germany, Dominik Szoboszlai‘s Hungary and Switzerland, a tough challenge for Andy Robertson‘s side. If Doak makes the final squad, it will be a significant experience for him, but Liverpool will be happy to hear that the Scotland boss is eager to manage expectations. Clarke said: “I think it becomes a danger if you put too much pressure on a young boy who is still learning the game and making his way in the game. “It is nice that he is involved in the squad, but let’s just keep a lid on things and hope that he develops and turns out to be the talent that we think and hope he can be.” Twelve members of Liverpool’s squad have been called up for the tournament so far.

Orlando Pirates flop set for homecoming?
Orlando Pirates flop set for homecoming?
Orlando Pirates are looking to offload one of their forwards at the end of the season, according to reports.  Pirates are making it no secret that they’re looking to revamp their attack but there will be sacrifices. One striker already left the club during the January transfer window in Bienvenu Eva Nga. Eva Nga recently left Pirates to rejoin his former club Chippa United. Now according to the latest reports, he is primed to be joined at the Buccaneers exit door by his countryman Souaibou Marou.  For the past two transfer windows, Marou has been rumoured to be leaving the club. It was also a shock to many when he left with the Pirates squad for their pre-season tour to Spain. He did not seem to impress there, and so it was no surprise that he started the season struggling to get into the match day squad. He did survive the transfer window, however, and did so again in January despite more exit rumours.  Over Marou at Pirates? MaroyIt was mooted that Pirates were finally ready to let Marou leave the club but on loan. But in the last report, it was suggested that the Buccaneers are ready to terminate his deal. Now according to KickOff.com this could pave the way for his return to home to Cameroon. “The 23-year-old has only played 150 minutes spread over nine appearances. This has prompted his former club Coton Sport to raise their heads in closely following what will happen with Marou during the next transfer window. The Cameroonian champions don’t have the budget. But have interest in getting their former marksman back ahead of another CAF Champions League campaign next season. Coton Sport know just how much Marou needs to play football again after failing to win over Jose Riveiro at Pirates and are willing to give him that opportunity.” Wrote the publication.  Returning to Coton? It could be best for all parties to part ways allowing Marou to leave Pirates and return familiar surroundings. A move back to Marou may be exactly what his career needs.

Marc Guehi: Crystal Palace place 60 million price tag on Manchester United target Man United News And Transfer News
1 Crystal Palace’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, is preparing for a potentially transformative summer transfer window. According to The Guardian,  Palace expects significant interest in several of their standout players, including Marc Guéhi, Eberechi Eze, and Michael Olise. Guehi, who has two years remaining on his current contract, has been a key figure for Palace. His solid performances have not gone unnoticed, and United are reportedly ready to make a move. Palace are said to value him at around £60 million. Known for his composure, strong tackling, and aerial prowess, the 23 year old could provide the stability and defensive solidity that United have been seeking. In anticipation of losing some of their top talents, Palace are already taking steps to secure replacements. The London club has reportedly submitted an £11.9 million offer for Chadi Riad, a promising Moroccan centre-back. Riad, who spent the season on loan at Real Betis, has impressed with his performances and comes highly recommended after developing in Barcelona’s esteemed academy. The departure of Raphael Varane leaves a gaping hole in United’s defence. It is imperative for them to buy a viable replacement for the Frenchman. Irrespective of the managerial situation, a player like Guehi would benefit the team in all aspects of the game.
