Monique Botha is actually they/them 🤷🏻♀️ on Twitter
The thing with the panorama and ADHD diagnosis that they're missing, is that people seek out what they need. That's why so many who make an appointment end up with a diagnosis. This is only a scandal if people think that people are unable to to reliably know themselves.— Monique Botha is actually they/them 🤷🏻♀️ (@DrMBotha) May 12, 2023
Thrilled to be invited to present our Autistic SPACE framework at this conference today & to hear the other fabulous speakers. I very much appreciate the great work this @rcpsych SIG is doing for #Autistic & #Neurodivergent people. Thank you 🙏 https://t.co/3L9rED2SfK— Mary Doherty (@AutisticDoctor) May 12, 2023

If your research is so technical that it can't be understood by the people whose life it affects, you have failed. Knowledge production should be accessible to all, not just those privileged enough to have access to academia.— David Gray-Hammond (@emgntdivergence) May 8, 2023
We need accessible info, we’ve had this discussion before on here lots of times. @JGjanegreen & @SEDSConnective is great at making their work accessible in infographic form and sharing in the community and in their training https://t.co/PyTUbbB1xj— @Autistic Realms (@autisticrealms) May 8, 2023

A fantastic time at #INSAR2023 in Sweden! A highlight was seeing @Enhance_Lab_UC's @StephanieHowe1 present her poster on camouflaging in autistic children and youth using photo elicitation + interviews. Well, yes.People who put themselves forward for an ADHD or autism assessment have often done extensive research, taken numerous online assessments and joined groups talking to other neurodivergent people to reach their conclusions. https://t.co/AnjYkmoAyC— Autistic Girls Network (@AutisticGirls_) May 3, 2023

Restraint on autistic people. My thanks to everyone who took part in yesterday's discussion on this. Many valuable points and concerns raised.I want to talk a little more about this in this thread, today:/— Ann Memmott PgC MA (She/They) (@AnnMemmott) May 3, 2023
😱 this is the answer to supporting our most vulnerable CYP. No understanding of needs, of #humankindness #FlipTheNarrative thinking @AQuinnUnbroken @elly_chapple In our experience, "secure, highly staffed, soecialist" have all lead to restraint @ICARSBanRandS @Andylowarousal https://t.co/9fbiGG31QZ— lisa chapman (@CommonSenseSLT) May 6, 2023

@CommonSenseSLT Stealing the credibility of science to rationalize violence against our loved people in grossly inflammatory & uncaring ways is his thing. We wish we could tune him out, but he & his ilk pop up everywhere because #researchEd is full of vileness masquerading as objectivity.

Punishing behaviour by excluding never works in my opinion. I have never seen a pupil return to school after multiple exclusions & change their behaviour. We need to address the pain based behaviour that's is driving it by providing the relationships, interventions & preventions.— Gerry🧠🌱 (@gerrydiamond71) May 5, 2023
TW, a distressing read. Another behaviourist tweet from #edutwitter 👉grossly inflammatory, no care about the upset & hurt caused. Our own CYP had 15 exclusions, suffered restraint, CPTSD, now thriving in online learning. He is not a violent criminal. He's #ActuallyAutistic https://t.co/5d5SXp9SlI— lisa chapman (@CommonSenseSLT) May 6, 2023

What a great guide! Would love to see more widespread engagement with critical disability studies & philosophy in stammering research going forward - much to learn from & with each other.
