In 2005, there were approximately 720,290 Medical Doctors (MDs) and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). During Fiscal Year 2005 (October 1, 2004 thru September 30, 2005) DEA initiated 595 Diversion Investigations against MDs and DOs. The following is a list of facts regarding these investigations:
