Criteria: This item is the unit crest, or distinctive unit insignia, for the 279th signal Battalion. The unit's motto, "Strike Fast And Sure," is printed in yellow letters on the lower scroll. The colors scarlet and yellow allude to the unit's Signal designation. The arrows represent the unit's primary mission of anti-aircraft defense. The seal commemorates the unit's origins as a Coastal Artillery battalion. This item is worn on the Army Dress Blue (ASU) Uniform.
