Incredible LGBITQ+ Friendly Destinations To Add To Your Travel Bucket List – EWN https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/incredible-lgbitq-friendly-destinations-to-add-to-your-travel-bucket-list-ewn/ Are you planning an international vacation and wondering where the most LGBTQ+-friendly destinations are? A rainbow flag, representing equality for members of the LGBTI community. Picture: Stock.xchng. JOHANNESBURG – The recognition and inclusion of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual, intersex and queer/questioning (LGBITQ+) community in South Africa. Several events including marches have over the years been staged to highlight the importance of affording LGBITQ+ equality in society. This is despite the country’s Constitution promoting inclusivity and diversity. Are you planning an international vacation and wondering where the most LGBITQ+-friendly destinations are? Known for being a country that is proud of its LGBITQ+ community as well as driving equality on the continent, South Africa is recognised as a country that stands with its LGBITQ+ community. South Africa legalised same-sex marriage in 2006, making it the first African country and fifth in the world to do so, and it continues to constitutionally protect its citizens against discrimination based on sexual orientation. While oppressive laws and unwelcoming societies are still prevalent in many parts of the world, there are many other open-minded countries where everyone can express themselves freely. Amsterdam, The Netherlands Often called the world’s most liberal city, Amsterdam, is one of the most LGBITQ+-friendly destinations in the world. Amsterdam’s legendary open-mindedness saw homosexuality decriminalised way back in the early 1800s and the Netherlands was the first country in the world to welcome same-sex marriages back in 2001. The city, often called Europe’s gay capital, plays host to a number of LGBITQ+events throughout the year and is home to some of the world’s most popular gay bars – including Spijker Bar, a gay bar that is considered the oldest and friendliest in Amsterdam. However, there is so much more to Amsterdam’s gay scene than its many bars. Toronto, Canada As Canada’s largest city, Toronto has a bustling queer community and, as a result, is one of the most politically active cities in the world in terms of gay rights. Toronto is famous for having an active and energetic gay village that is full of various gay-owned bars, clubs and businesses. The city, which is home to tourist attractions like the CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum, and just a short drive from the world-famous Niagara Falls, also plays host to the Inside Out LGBITQ+ Film Festival, which occurs over two weeks in May. Stockholm, Sweden Stockholm is famous for being one of the most open-minded cities in the world. Despite being a country rich in history and filled with gorgeous buildings and tourist hotspots, its thriving LGBITQ+ scene makes it a popular destination for tourists from around the globe. Patricia is the city’s biggest gay club with parties happening every night of the week. If you’re looking for something a little more low-key, a visit to the country’s popular ABBA Museum is a must. Mykonos, Greece If an island holiday is what you are after, many consider Greece’s popular city of Mykonos. Many consider Mykonos as the original gay island in the Mediterranean, a testament to its long-standing relationship with the LGBITQ+ community. Mykonos is home to dozens of gay beaches, hotels, establishments and beaches that are either gay-exclusive or gay-friendly, making it the perfect city for the LGBITQ+ community to soak up that Mediterranean sun. %

The wait finally over, Sendik’s Food Market opened its doors Oct. 19 for the first time with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Sendik’s owners and city officials. Grand opening celebrations will continue for the next couple of weeks with store sweepstakes, live music, fun festivities and more. The new 60,000-squarefoot grocery will employ 150 people and is an anchor store for the ongoing Olympia Fields development along Summit Avenue. Cotenants of the new location will include Planet Fitness and Pet Supplies Plus. “Oconomowoc is such a beautiful area with a great sense of community. The wonderful downtown and growing surrounding areas make it a very special place and we’re so grateful to be a part of it. Food is all about family and friends and fun around the dinner table and we’re proud to bring true food innovations and new experiences to our customers,” said third generation Sendik’s co-owner Ted Balistreri. Stay up-to-date on all the latest Oconomowoc-area news with a subscription: Click here MSI General of Nashotah partnered with Sendik’s Food Market to repurpose the 87,000 square feet of space at the old Kmart building, vastly improving the inside, as well as redesigning the exterior façade and parking lot. “We’re excited to help Sendik’s bring their new store to Oconomowoc. It’s been a true collaboration between MSI General, Sendik’s and all the subcontractors,” said Ken Krahe, president of MSI General. “I think it’s great we were able to revitalize the old building and give it new life. It’s been a fun project to be a part of.” Sendik’s Food Markets are well-known for taking grocery shopping up a notch by offering a variety of items. Sendik’s popular reusable red bags are stocked and ready to go as the new store celebrated its grand opening in Oconomowoc Wednesday. The new store will also feature a 10-foot-tall hydroponic garden providing leafy greens for the salad bar, an extensive Sendik’s Home department offering flowers, gifts, décor, clothing, and seasonal items. Also in this store will be made-to-order sandwiches, freshly made popcorn stand, and according to a statement, the largest wine and spirits and meat/seafood departments in the area. “Our team is so creative and wanted to try new designs and product offerings that our customers really care about to make this Oconomowoc store really different. We get excited when we find something that is local and really delicious, and we can bring it in for our customers. We have a great partnership with our vendors and the results are truly amazing,” added Balistreri. The Balistreri family has been serving the greater Milwaukee community for the last 96 years. The Oconomowoc store will be the 18th Sendik’s Food Market location in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Healthy Living: Support Menopause Naturally Limerick Live Limerick Live
Healthy Living: Support Menopause Naturally – Limerick Live – Limerick Live https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/healthy-living-support-menopause-naturally-limerick-live-limerick-live/ OCTOBER 18 was World Menopause Day which takes place to raise awareness, break the stigma and highlight the support options available for improving health and wellbeing during this time of transition. Most women in the western world are affected by some of the symptoms – mood swings, low libido, thinning bones, insomnia, and forgetfulness. Hot flushes and night sweats are experienced by more than 85% of menopausal women with varying degree of severity up to ten years after their last period. These symptoms are linked with a drop in Estrogen and Progesterone levels that follows the cessation of ovulation. For example, Estrogen helps lift our mood so, when levels drop, we may feel depressed. Scientists are not sure exactly what causes hot flushes, but they occur because due to the hormonal imbalances the brain somehow decides that the body is overheated and responds by increasing the blood flow through the skin. Night sweats often cause frequent interruption of sleep, contributing to fatigue. The repair and maintenance system of bones is mainly controlled by hormones, including estrogen and progesterone, regulating osteoclasts and osteoblasts which break down old bone cells, replacing them with new. As levels of these hormones fall, bones begin to deteriorate and lose density. Osteoporosis literally means: “bone that has holes”. Long-term poor diet, emotional stress, and lack of exercise may lead to an increase in menopausal symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy has been a lifeline for many women; however, no medicines are without their side effects, therefore natural therapies should be sought first that help to support the transition and overall long-term health. To help ease hot flushes, stop eating foods that are likely to trigger or worsen them, such as stimulants – especially at night. Blood sugar imbalances are also linked to more frequent hot flushes. Avoid snacking on sugary foods – choose wholefoods, including protein and healthy fats in each meal. This will help balance your moods also. Sage is known for its body temperature regulating properties and can overcome hot flushes within a couple of weeks. To help calm the hormone imbalances, phyto-estrogenic foods should be part of everyday diet, such as beans, lentils, fennel seeds and ground flax seeds. Herbal remedies containing red clover, dong quai, maca and evening primrose oil further help to counteract the dropping hormones, while stress supporting ashwagandha, Rhodiola and Siberian ginseng support energy, sleep and mental focus. Studies show that supplementing large doses of Calcium can lead to hardening of the arteries and kidney damage. Calcium is best supplied by mineral rich foods, other than dairy products, such as dark green vegetables, sea vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans and dried fruit such as figs. In any case, Vitamin K2 is of utmost necessity to ensure the calcium gets into the bones, not lodged into soft tissues. As digestion is declining with age, it needs to be boosted every day for best absorption. Taking raw cider vinegar or bitter herbs before main meals can ensure you get the most out of your delicious, nutritious food. ADVERTISEMENT – CONTINUE READING BELOW

Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools For All Best Presale 2022? Cryptonews
Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools For All Best Presale 2022? Cryptonews
Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools For All – Best Presale 2022? – Cryptonews https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/dash-2-trade-offers-new-crypto-trading-tools-for-all-best-presale-2022-cryptonews/ Disclaimer: The Industry Talk section features insights by crypto industry players and is not a part of the editorial content of Cryptonews.com. The Dash 2 Trade (D2T) presale has already raised over $400,000, barely 24 hours after beginning. Its quick progress comes as significant validation for the Ethereum-based platform, which will provide cryptocurrency traders with actionable market data, insights, and analysis in real time. In a year marked by big presales, the D2T token sale has plenty of competition, yet its strong fundamentals have already helped it stand out from the crowd. And with the market lacking a trading intelligence platform of the scope and usability of Dash 2 Trade, it has a very good chance of becoming one of the most successful presales and coin listings of 2022. Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools for All – Best Presale 2022? Kicking off yesterday, the Dash 2 Trade presale quickly passed important milestones, crossing $300,000 within only a few hours. Now, it’s up to $400,00, and likely to pass a few more important targets in the coming hours.  As set forth in its whitepaper, Dash 2 Trade is building a “world class” cryptocurrency analytics and social trading platform, one which will make it easier for investors of all levels to make informed investment decisions. To this end, it will provide such features as the following: Trading signals for indicating new buy or sell opportunities Social sentiment metrics and on-chain analysis to highlight trending cryptocurrencies Strategy building and social trading tools for helping investors formulate new approaches A scoring system enabling users to gain access to presales Crypto listing alerts  All of these features will be situated within the platform’s unique dashboard, which combines a wealth of tools yet presents them in a streamlined and accessible, making them useful for more than just experienced traders. While Dash 2 Trade’s presale has only just begun, its platform and dashboard have already been in development for months, while it has also received venture capital funding worth $200,000. This sets it up nicely for further development, as does the fact that Dash 2 Trade has in fact grown out of Learn2Trade, a forex signals provider that provides daily technical analysis and that draws upon a community of over 70,000 active traders. This puts Dash 2 Trade in an excellent position to build on Learn2Trade’s growth and experience, with its crypto-focused dashboard unique within the cryptocurrency market.  Within the Dash 2 Trade platform, native token D2T can be used to grant holders access to analysis, signals and social trading, as well as other features. It will therefore witness growing demand — and a rising the price — the more popular Dash 2 Trade becomes. At the moment, the presale is making it available at a price of 0.0476 USDT for 1 DST. This price, however, will last only for as long as the sale’s first stage, at which point it will rise to 0.05 USDT. Given that stage one will end after it raises the equivalent of $1,666,000, DST could see its price increase very soon. As such, interested parties may want to act sooner rather than later. How High? Dash 2 Trade’s progress so far suggests that its presale will sell out fairly comfortably, and that it could indeed enjoy some successful listings in the New Year. Of course, the question is, how high could it gain over its presale price? This is an important question, especially when the ongoing bear market would suggest that hopes for big returns should probably be downplayed at the moment. The thing is, even though we are still in a bear market, other presale coins have gone on to enjoy successful initial listings. This was especially the case with Tamadoge (TAMA), which raised $19 million in September and then posted a return of 1,800% at one point, following its listing on OKX. This isn’t to say that D2T will also surge by 1,800% once it receives a few listings. However, it certainly has good fundamentals, with its trading intelligence platform likely to be in demand within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. A

The rupee is expected to open at 82.98-83.02 per U.S. dollar, compared with a record low of 83.02 in the previous session. Large corporate dollar and custodial outflows had prompted a selloff in the currency toward the last one-and-a-half hour of trade on Wednesday, traders said. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com The dollar’s broad strength and stop losses at 82.40, a level the Reserve Bank of India was likely protecting, accentuated the rupee’s decline. The “saving grace” for the rupee after “yesterday’s meltdown” is that post regular trading hours, it was broadly flat at around the 83 level, a currency dealer at a Mumbai-based bank said. “In initial trades, traders will be looking to assess how sticky this new big figure proves.” The selloff in U.S. Treasuries resumed on Wednesday, pushing near-maturity and longer-maturity Treasury yields to fresh multi-year highs. Yields had spiked despite a weak U.S. housing report. The bets on the U.S. Fed to continue hiking rates aggressively got a boost after Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari said underlying inflation pressures probably have not peaked yet. Fed funds futures have priced in a near 94% chance of a 75 bps rate rise in November, and a 76% probability of another 75 bps increase in December, according to the CME FedWatch Tool. The rise in yields and safe-haven demand catapulted the dollar index back to above the 113-levels. The onshore Chinese yuan dropped to 7.2474 to the dollar, leading Asian currencies lower. U.S. equity futures extended their decline and Asian shares were down 1% to 2.7%. The milestone is a result of autonomous driving industry’s growing focus on mass production and commercial deployment. The heavy-duty truck preloaded with Inceptio’s Xuanyuan system was first mass produced in late 2021. By now, Xuanyuan system has been preloaded to multiple heavy-duty truck models, which serve diversified line-haul freight demands such as heavy load and light cargo. The trucks powered by Inceptio’s level 3 autonomous Xuanyuan system have been in daily commercial operations on a large scale due to their proven economical and safety superiority over manual driving trucks. The commercial operation covers China’s four economic circles of the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, and Central China, as well as the main transportation routes across China, serving nearly 20 leading logistics companies in the fields of express and less-than-truckload logistics. Unveiled in March 2021, Xuanyuan system is based on Inceptio’s full stack autonomous technology and can effectively handle a variety of transport conditions, including changeable weather, day and night, plains or mountains, and light cargo or heavy loads. According to Julian Ma, Founder & CEO of Inceptio Technology, “The milestone of 10 million kilometers is a testimony to the strengths of our Xuanyuan system and the strong market demand of autonomous trucks. The development of our full-stack autonomous technology is accelerating by leveraging our fast-growing mass production volume and rapidly accumulating real-world data asset. We are confident to create more substantial economic and safety benefit to logistics customers through Xuanyuan System.” About Inceptio Technology Inceptio Technology was founded in April 2018, with the mission to build a safer and more efficient line-haul logistics by providing industry-leading autonomous driving technologies for trucks and by operating a nationwide autonomous Transportation-As-A-Service (TaaS) freight network. Truss Faces Clamor To Quit Amid UK Government Chaos – 69News WFMZ-TV https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/truss-faces-clamor-to-quit-amid-uk-government-chaos-69news-wfmz-tv/ LONDON (AP) — U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss was hanging on to power by a thread on Thursday, after a senior minister quit her government with a barrage of criticism and a vote in the House of Commons descended into chaos and acrimony. A botched economic plan unveiled by the government last month triggered financial turmoil and a political crisis that has seen the replacement of Truss’ Treasury chief, multiple policy U-turns and a breakdown of discipline in the governing Conservative Party. Many Conservatives say Truss must resign – but she has remained defiant, saying she is “a fighter and not a quitter.” Conservative lawmaker Simon Hoare said the government was in disarray. “Nobody has a route plan. It’s all sort of hand-to-hand fighting on a day-to-day basis,” he told the BBC on Thursday. He said Truss had “about 12 hours” to turn the situation around. Through the morning, a growing number of Conservative members of Parliament called for Truss to step down and end the chaos. “It’s time for the prime minister to go,” said lawmaker Miriam Cates. Another, Steve Double, said: “She isn’t up to the job, sadly.” Newspapers that usually support the Conservatives were vitriolic. An editorial in the Daily Mail was headlined: “The wheels have come off the Tory clown car.” International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan, sent onto the airwaves Thursday morning to defend the government, insisted the administration was providing “stability.” But she was unable to guarantee Truss would lead the party into the next election. “At the moment, I think that’s the case,” she said. With opinion polls giving the Labour Party a large and growing lead, many Conservatives now believe their only hope of avoiding electoral oblivion is to replace Truss. But they are divided about how to get rid of her, and over who should replace her. The party is keen to avoid another divisive leadership contest like the race a few months ago that saw Truss defeat ex-Treasury chief Rishi Sunak. Among potential replacements — if only Conservative lawmakers can agree — are Sunak, House of Commons leader Penny Mordaunt and newly appointed Treasury chief Jeremy Hunt. A national election doesn’t have to be held until 2024, and under Conservative Party rules, Truss technically is safe from a leadership challenge for a year. The rules can be changed if enough lawmakers want it. There is fevered speculation about how many lawmakers have already submitted letters calling for a no-confidence vote. In a major blow, Home Secretary Suella Braverman resigned Wednesday after breaching rules by sending an official document from her personal email account. She used her resignation letter to lambaste Truss, saying she had “concerns about the direction of this government.” “The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes,” she said in a thinly veiled dig at Truss. Braverman was replaced as home secretary, the minister responsible for immigration and law and order, by former Cabinet minister Grant Shapps, a high-profile supporter of her defeated rival Sunak. Truss faced more turmoil in Parliament Wednesday evening on a vote over fracking for shale gas — a practice that Truss wants to resume despite opposition from many Conservatives. With a large Conservative majority in Parliament, an opposition call for a fracking ban was easily defeated, but some lawmakers were furious that Conservative Party whips said the vote would be treated as a confidence motion, meaning the government would fall if the motion passed. There were angry scenes in the House of Commons, with party whips accused of using heavy-handed tactics to gain votes. Labour lawmaker Chris Bryant said he “saw members being physically manhandled … and being bullied.” Conservative officials denied there had been manhandling. Rumors swirled that Conservative Chief Whip Wendy Morton, who is responsible for party discipline, and her deputy had resigned. Hours later, Truss’ office said both remained in their jobs. The dramatic developments came days after Truss fired her Treasury chief, Kwasi Kwarteng, on Friday after the economic package the pair unveiled Sept. 23 spooked financial markets and triggered an economic and political crisis. The plan’s 45 billion pounds ($50 billion) in unfunded tax cuts sparked turmoil on financial markets, hammering the value of the pound and increasing the cost of U.K. government borrowing. The Bank of England was forced to intervene to prevent the crisis from spreading to the wider economy and putting pension funds at risk. On Monday Kwarteng’s replacement, Hunt, scrapped almost all of Truss’ tax cuts, along with her flagship energy policy and her promise of no public spending cuts. He said the government will need to save billions of pounds and there are “many difficult decisions” to be made before he sets out a medium-term fiscal plan on Oct. 31. Speaking to lawmakers for the first time since the U-turn, Truss apologized Wednesday and admitted she had made mistakes during her six weeks in office, but insisted that by changing course she had “taken responsibility and made the right decisions in the interest of the country’s economic stability.” Opposition lawmakers shouted “Resign!” as she spoke in the House of Commons. But she insisted: “I am a fighter and not a quitter.” Follow AP’s coverage of British politics at https://apnews.com/hub/liz-truss Copyright 2022 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. Should You Exercise During Pregnancy? Eve Magazine
Should You Exercise During Pregnancy? Eve Magazine
Should You Exercise During Pregnancy? – Eve Magazine https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/should-you-exercise-during-pregnancy-eve-magazine/  Should you exercise during pregnancy? (Photo: Good Housekeeping) There are numerous dos and don’ts associated with pregnancy, and many expectant mothers choose to take extra precautions to avoid endangering their unborn child. And one question that often comes up is whether or not pregnant women ought to exercise. After all, encouraging healthy living is the whole point of being in shape, right? If you are reading this, you are probably here because you are wondering the same. Should you continue with your regular routine or wait till the baby is born before renewing your gym membership? Here are some things you need to consider before getting into a fitness routine: Consult your physician Keeping your child calm during a flight Teach your kids how to be cheerful losers Why couples should talk about mental health What you can eat to reduce wrinkles First things first, before you engage in any physical activity, you should consult with your doctor on whether or not it is safe for you to exercise or engage in any physical activity. Once you get the go-ahead is when you can find the right exercises for you. Time taken If you are pregnant you should spend at most 30 minutes a day on your workout. Also if you haven’t been doing any exercises in a while you need to make the transition gradual until you reach your 30-minute per day mark. You can start with five-minute workouts, progress to 10 minutes and eventually you will get to 30 minutes but you should remember this is not the time to push yourself beyond your limits. Types of exercises Remember, your body can no longer take the kind of pressure you were used to before the pregnancy, this is especially true after you’re 16 weeks along in the pregnancy and you’re feeling the weight of your growing baby. Also, avoid any type of contact sport or exercise that could easily get you hit or hurt. Enrol on a fitness class In most cases, people will enrol on random fitness classes and just roll with it but if you are not sure of what you are doing, find a hospital that provides fitness classes for expectant mothers. These fitness classes will offer prenatal yoga and routines and the best part is your safety will be guaranteed at all times. However, if that’s not an option, get a gym partner like your spouse or friend, who can help you through the sessions and can be on the lookout to help you when your reach your limit or in case of an accident. Drink a lot of water Yes, you should drink as much water as you can before, during, and after your workout to stay as hydrated as possible. Heat stress can lead to exhaustion and dehydration which is not good for you and your baby. Listen to your body You may have been a fitness junkie before but during pregnancy, this kind of motivation may need to take a pose. Do not assume any symptoms you get while exercising, for instance, a headache, dizziness, chest pain, nausea or even vaginal bleeding. If you notice any of these symptoms, especially vaginal bleeding, go for a checkup immediately to ensure everything is okay, otherwise, take things slow. Tip: Swimming is mainly recommended for pregnant women since the water will support the extra weight. Also, it is important to remember that each pregnancy is different and with unique demands. Do not attempt to emulate your friends or relatives who had an entirely different pregnancy journey and experience from yours. Related Topics

Dennis Allen is in his first year as Sean Payton’s replacement in New Orleans, and there’s been a bit of a topsy-turvy go of it so far this year. NOLA sits at just 2-4 on the season, but Allen inherited a less-than ideal situation from Sean Payton, giving him time to figure it out. On the other sideline, Kliff Kingsbury must be feeling the coach’s chair get just a bit hotter. Arizona’s suboptimal 2-4 start has them in the cellar of the NFC West, and Kyler Murray’s lack of production to this point has certainly not helped Kingsbury’s case to stay employed. Murray, who signed a mega-deal with the Cardinals this offseason, has thrown six touchdowns to four interceptions and is coming off a loss to the Seahawks’ hapless defense. That’s not going to cut it for the Cardinals, who were looking at playoff-or-bust expectations in 2022. Learn Why Tora Inu Is Preparing To Become One Of The Top Crypto Presales Of 2022 – Cryptonews https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/learn-why-tora-inu-is-preparing-to-become-one-of-the-top-crypto-presales-of-2022-cryptonews/ Tora Inu presale Tora Inu is the latest talk of the crypto town. The meme coin sensation combines an array of play-to-earn and NFT utilities to host one of the hottest crypto presales of this year.  How Tora Inu Revives the Meme Coin Mania  The crypto market has seen an influx of meme coins over the last few years, especially since the massive success of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. While Dogecoin was launched as a satire, it expanded its use cases and payment integrations over time to stay relevant.  With some intensive pumps from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the coin gained traction from both the crypto and non-crypto worlds. It went through steep ups and downs, giving and wiping fortunes overnight.  However, the legendary meme coin is currently 91.99% down from its all-time high. Its focus on expanding the payment integrations and use cases has steadily declined during the bear market. The only thing that saves the project from death is renewed hopes of a pump from Elon Musk. Especially since he is getting ready to take over Twitter.  Meme coins that followed Dogecoin, like Shiba Inu, Dogelon Mars, SafeMoon, and ApeCoin have also failed to weather the bear market. Even worse, the hundreds of other meme coins that were spawned into the market over the years have faded into obscurity.  This is where Tora Inu comes in. The project focuses on creating value as much as speculation, tapping into meme coin, P2E, and NFT use cases. It is inspired by a Kai Ken — a breed of dog from Japan that is a national monument. It is one of the purest and rarest of the six native Japanese dog breeds, quite similar to the project’s vision.  The most exciting aspects of the game are the NFT Native Marketplace, P2E game, Mini Games with NFT Integration, and Lottery Mini Games that are now in the offing.  Check Out Tora Inu (TORA) The Ultimate Meme Coin Tora Inu is touted as the next-gen meme coin – and for good reasons.  The deflationary tokenomics of the project ensures that the token gains value over time. For this, a percentage of the tokens are burnt out of circulation after every single transaction, which eventually creates bullish momentum and a supply squeeze. Moreover, the protocol redistributes $TORA rewards to users after every transaction. The high earning potential of the Tora Inu ecosystem is another factor that contributes to its success. Tora Inu is home to a wide range of mini-games that let users earn an income while playing games. In addition to that, it will host different draws and lottery opportunities. The ecosystem also features a staking platform, which will increase the earning potential of token holders, apart from play-to-earn.  Tora Inu roadmap for 2022 Of course, being a meme coin, Tora Inu has to put as much effort into marketing as use cases. The token has a creative marketing team who have played a key role in building a staunch community for the project on Twitter and Telegram. There are also rumors that the project has acquired top-tier CEX and DEX partnerships, which will help it go for a public launch as soon as the presale concludes. To rule out doubts about rug pulls and scams, the team is fully verified by Coinsniper as well. The audit of the smart contract will be completed ahead of the presale.    Why TORA will be the best meme coin of 2022-2023? Utility-packed roadmap P2E gaming and metaverse integrations Huge sponsorship deal (to be announced soon) High-profile CEX listings for public launch  Led by a team of multidisciplinary experts Large marketing campaign Global community  Tora Inu has launched an exciting giveaway worth $25,000 for presale participants on Gleam.  Buy Tora Inu (TORA)

Russia Says U.S. ‘blackmail’ Over Fertilizer Exports Threatens Global Food Security – Reuters https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/russia-says-u-s-blackmail-over-fertilizer-exports-threatens-global-food-security-reuters/ Oct 20 (Reuters) – Russia’s foreign ministry said on Thursday that Moscow was ready to boost exports of food and fertilizers to help avert a global food crisis, but was being blocked from doing so by the United States. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Washington was “blackmailing” and “persecuting” those that try to trade with Russia and was therefore compromising global food security. The U.S. has not directly targeted Russian agricultural exports, but sanctions on Russia’s shipping, insurance, logistics and payments infrastructure are thwarting Russia’s ability to export crucial fertilizers and chemicals, Moscow says. Netflix Password Sharing Crackdown To Arrive By 2023 – India TV News https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/netflix-password-sharing-crackdown-to-arrive-by-2023-india-tv-news/ Image Source : NETFLIX Netflix Netflix, a Popular video streaming platform has announced that it is planning to crack down on password sharing at the beginning of 2023. As per the report filed by The Verge, Netflix has been planning to start allowing subscribers to create sub-accounts by next year as a part of its “monetising account sharing” strategy. Recently, it was reported that Netflix gained 2.41 million subscribers in the last quarter (July-September), making the platform have around 223.09 million subscribers globally. The company has said that it has grown by 1,04,000 paid subscribers in the US and Canada over the last three months, up from 73,000 in the same period the previous year, and says it remains committed to the “bingeable release model”. Earlier this year, Netflix experienced its first drop in subscribers in over a decade this quarter, as its subscriber count fell by 1.3 million in the US and Canada and 1 million worldwide. To address this, Netflix gradually began weaning users away from exchanging passwords, the report said. It conducted tests in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru, where the streaming platform prompted users to pay extra if someone used their subscription outside of their household when the subscription was owned by them. Netflix further announced last week that it is rolling out its $6.99 per month ad-supported tier, called “Basic”, on November 3 in the US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, and the UK, the report added. Moreover, Netflix partnered with Microsoft to serve ads to users that will last anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds. Latest Technology News

Is Disneyland Or Disney World Better? Differences Between The Parks. USA TODAY
Is Disneyland Or Disney World Better? Differences Between The Parks. USA TODAY
Is Disneyland Or Disney World Better? Differences Between The Parks. – USA TODAY https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/is-disneyland-or-disney-world-better-differences-between-the-parks-usa-today/ Disneyland and Disney World fans feel strongly about which destination is best. The biggest differences are obvious, but many others are more nuanced. Understanding those differences and accounting for personal preferences can help travelers pick the right resort for them. If you want to start an argument among Disney fans, just ask which is better: Disneyland or Walt Disney World.  Faithful fans fiercely defend their favorites, but there is no wrong answer. “It’s like picking a favorite child,” said Lisa Eylens, who loves both so much she became a planDisney panelist to share tips and tricks with fellow Disney guests. There are ways, however, for travelers to figure out which destination is right for them.  “You need to consider your family and what is important to them, what attractions they might enjoy, what characters they might enjoy, how many days do you have,” Eylens said.  It also helps knowing what’s unique to each destination. Disney World prices keep going up: Here’s why die-hard fans keep going back Disney on a dime: How to save without sacrificing the magic What is the difference between Disneyland and Disney World? “To me, the biggest difference was at Disneyland, there’s much more nostalgia. There’s much more ‘This is what Walt did,'” said Ashley Ryan, a fellow planDisney panelist who grew up going to Disney World. PlanDisney panelists are not Disney cast members but park experts who apply for the advisory role and are rewarded with a Disney trip in exchange for sharing insights with fellow guests.  Disneyland is the only park Walt Disney personally opened. There, guests can see the Griffith Park bench he sat on when he first dreamed up Disneyland, slurp up Walt’s Chili at Carnation Cafe, enjoy attractions he worked on like Matterhorn Bobsleds and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, and as part of the guided Walt’s Main Street Story tour, even visit his former apartment above Town Square Fire Station. “For a true Disney fan, If you haven’t ever been to Disneyland, you’ll really appreciate the history and the fact that that was Walt’s original dream,” said Eylens, who’s had annual passes for both Disneyland and Disney World for years. “It is a very different experience from Disney World.”  Among other differences, it’s easier to park hop at Disneyland because its two theme parks, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, are just across a plaza from each other and footsteps away from the Downtown Disney District.  Disney World is much larger and its four parks – Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom – are further apart. The Florida resort is also home to two water parks, multiple golf and miniature golf courses, ESPN Wide World of Sports and Disney Springs. “There’s definitely more of a variety there than you would get a Disneyland,” Eylens said. “And for me, when we go to Disney World, I really love to have some time at the resort too. It’s a great way to break up the days at the parks … and it just makes it feel like a vacation, where we still get that Disney magic staying on property.” While both Disney World and Disneyland feature accommodations, attractions, dining venues, nighttime spectaculars and other experiences unique to their location, there are a number of attractions guests can ride at both resorts, but even some of those, like Pirates of the Caribbean, are executed differently.  “I really enjoy the subtle differences,” said Ryan. When she and her husband first rode Space Mountain at Disneyland, she said, “Immediately we’re like, ‘OK, even the setup is different.’ We got to sit next to each other, where in Disney World we sit front and back. And I felt that overall the Space Mountain at Disneyland was a bit of a smoother ride.” Disneyland also overhauls “it’s a small world” and Haunted Mansion for the holidays.  “The holiday lighting that happens at night is just amazing,” Eylens said. “Riding ‘it’s a small world’ and listening to the holiday tunes that they set in and seeing all the holiday decorations, that’s one of my favorites.” Other differences longtime fans may notice is Disneyland still has Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, which closed at Disney World decades ago. Disney World still has Tomorrowland PeopleMover and Carousel of Progress, which moved over from Disneyland in the 1970s. Is one day enough at Disneyland?: No, and here’s why Disney fans may want to avoid it Is Disneyland cheaper than Disney World? The cheapest tickets at Disneyland cost slightly less than their Disney World counterparts. One-day, one-park tickets to Disneyland start at $104.  The starting price is $109 at Disney World. Ticket prices fluctuate depending on time of year. The more days guests add on, the cheaper each day costs.  Disney World, Disneyland raise Genie+ prices: What to expect on your next visit Which has more attractions, Disney World or Disneyland? With double the theme parks and two water parks, Disney World offers more attractions overall than Disneyland. Guests can find details on all the attractions and experiences available at Disneyland and Disney World on their respective websites. D23 highlights: These Disneyland, Disney World additions will have fans itching to go back Which is better, Disneyland or Disney World? Personal preferences and core memories often dictate which parks people prefer. #disneyworld is the only answer. Superior parks, Epcot with World showcase, classic long dark rides, DAK has the best theming in the US of any park, resorts that feel like their own mini towns, transportation systems like skyliner and monorail, water parks, Disney springs, etc https://t.co/wkkZqTfhRE — WDWIsSuperior (@WDWbeatsDLR) October 4, 2022 Disneyland, there’s something so personal about it. It’s the only park Walt stepped in and you can feel it. Disneyworld takes those things that made Disneyland special and try’s to expand on them but lacks Disneylands intimacy and personal touch. — Startrader72 (@JoelPettey) October 4, 2022 Even though it’s much more of a hassle to get to (flying from London) I prefer DL. Easy to enjoy as a destination in and of itself. I love WDW but it turns going on holiday into an elaborate exercise in planning and endurance. — Iain MacKinnon (they/them) (@MacKinnonPlus) October 4, 2022 There is a reason WDW is the most visited theme parks in the world. DLand is a tiny locals hangout. — DJthebeast (@DerekMi16322791) October 4, 2022 For Ryan and Eylens, there’s a clear winner: Disney World’s EPCOT. “I am not even shy about it,” Ryan said. “EPCOT is my absolute favorite park. I just think that there’s really nothing like it out there. You get the rides and the food as well as all of the cultural education in the same place.”  Guests can learn about various countries like Morocco and Norway and sample their foods at EPCOT’s World Showcase. Disneyland, meanwhile, hosts cultural celebrations around Lunar New Year, Dia de Los Muertos and holidays such as Kwanzaa and Diwali. EPCOT also boasts Disney World’s newest ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, one of Eylens’ favorites. “I love throwing my hands up in the air and screaming, and my family is the same,” the self-described roller coaster junkie said. “That is our idea of fun.” She also loves The Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure.  The cultural magic of ‘Encanto’: How the ‘Disney’ film captures the essence of Latino families Which one is right for you? “You can make a really great vacation out of either,” Ryan said. “What are you trying to get out of your trip and how long would you like to spend there? What kinds of things are you looking to experience?” Both destinations require multiple days to enjoy at a leisurely pace, but guests with tighter time constraints can experience more of Disneyland in fewer days than Disney World. Other practical considerations include airfare and other transportation costs and even weather, because rain is almost always in the forecast in Florida and rare in Southern California. Fandoms can also be a factor. Guests who love classic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Disney princesses, Star Wars and Pixar can get their fill at either destination, but Disney World is the only place guests will find Pandora – the World of Avatar and all the animals of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Meanwhile, Disneyland is the place to go for Avengers Campus and Cars Land. “Cars Land is on the top of our list,” said Ryan, whose son is 4 years old. “He loves Lightning McQueen, loves Mater … Right now is like the sweet spot for ‘Cars’ for him.”  “You have to really just consider your family before you choose the coast and flights,” Eylens said. Ukraine’s Utilities Threatened By Russia In War’s New Phase – 69News WFMZ-TV https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/ukraines-utilities-threatened-by-russia-in-wars-new-phase-69news-wfmz-tv/ KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — When a missile struck a power station less than a mile from his apartment on the outskirts of Kyiv, Oleksander Maystrenko didn’t panic, run to a bomb shelter or consider evacuating, even though he lives close to what suddenly has become the Russian military’s main target in the war: anything related to Ukraine’s vital infrastructure. His neighbors also haven’t budged, despite the fact that Tuesday’s attack — marked by a loud explosion — killed three people, severely damaged two facilities inside the plant’s compound and temporarily knocked out power to about 50,000 households, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. “We aren’t afraid because we aren’t just prepared logistically; we are morally prepared,” Maystrenko said outside his apartment building, where he and two neighbors sat on a bench and smoked only hours after the attack. This is what the latest phase of Russia’s nearly 8-month-old war in Ukraine looks like. Moscow has openly declared its intention to increasingly strike power stations, waterworks and other key infrastructure. One Ukrainian energy official said Wednesday that 40% of the country’s electric power system had been severely damaged, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian forces have destroyed 30% of Ukraine’s power stations since Oct. 10. But Maystrenko and his neighbors say they are prepared. If the Russians knock out the power, there are stocks of flashlights and candles, he said. If there’s no gas for stoves, he has a plan to build a rudimentary stove in front of the building’s entrance and use firewood that has been collected to heat it. Water has been bottled and jars of pickled vegetables and canned goods have been safely stored. Everyone knows to have plenty of blankets and warm clothes for the winter, he added. “It’s never been a secret that this power plant is a target, but we’ve been preparing since this war started,” Maystrenko said. The preparations have created a sense of community as well as a united front among neighbors, who once knew each other only in passing and are face a common enemy, he said. The attacks have come at a critical time, with winter approaching. Klitschko said that Thursday marks the start of the heating season for Kyiv, which like most urban centers in Ukraine and even Russia uses a Soviet-era central system controlled by the city that provides heat for apartment buildings and businesses. Following a meeting between Zelenskyy, government ministers, members of energy enterprises and some local officials, presidential adviser Kyrylo Tymoshenko said there would be power supply restrictions across Ukraine from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. beginning Thursday, along with the use of street lights being limited in some cities.. “Please take this seriously,” Tymoshenko said on his Telegram channel. “This applies to residents of ALL regions of the country. … These are forced steps. Therefore, we all work together on our front!” One area where power and water were reported knocked out by shelling was Enerhodar, the southern city is next to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, one of the war’s most worrisome flashpoints. Missiles also severely damaged an energy facility near Zelenskyy’s hometown of Kryvyi Rih in south-central Ukraine, cutting power to villages, towns and to one city district, the regional governor said. Using energy supplies as a weapon isn’t a new tactic for the Kremlin, particularly when it comes to Ukraine. “Energy was always quite a holy cow for the Russians, and they claim that by controlling energy they can control the country,” said Hanna Shelest, the director of security programs at Foreign Policy Council Ukrainian Prism, based in Kyiv. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who declared martial law in four illegally annexed regions of Ukraine, has used his ability to turn off the gas that passes through the country’s extensive, Soviet-era pipeline as leverage. His tactic has been used not just against the government in Kyiv, but also against energy-dependent nations in Europe, who built pipelines via the North Sea for Russian gas. Under its new strategy, the Russian military hopes to destroy enough of Ukraine’s infrastructure to make life so intolerable that residents will blame their own government, Shelest said. Putin has called Ukraine a failed state and a historical part of Russia. In trying to make Ukrainians suffer, he hopes they will believe him, she said. “What we see now is that it is definitely not working so well,” Shelest said, adding that Ukrainians are increasingly directing their rage at Putin. Zelenskyy’s admission that Russia had knocked out nearly a third of Ukraine’s power stations was noteworthy, said Mason Clark, an analyst at the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War. “If the Russians can keep up that sustained damage, and the Ukrainians can’t repair it, that could actually start to have an effect,” he said. Clark said he didn’t believe Russia would be able to affect the Ukrainian population’s overwhelming support for their military in taking back the territory seized by Moscow. Recent attacks by what Kyiv describes as Iranian-supplied drones and missiles against civilian housing and other nonmilitary targets “seem to be just terror attacks, essentially to try to intimidate the Ukrainian population,” he said. Russia has used such scare tactics throughout the war out of “a misguided belief that they will be able to force the Ukrainians to surrender and force negotiations,” Clark said. From a military sense, Russia’s use of the Iranian-supplied drones and Kalibr and Iskander cruise missiles against Ukrainian infrastructure is a “very poor use of limited-precision munitions,” Clark said. The Russians are struggling with dwindling supplies of these high-end weapons, he said, adding that a more strategic move would be to save them for the battlefield, because Ukraine’s air defenses have succeeded in intercepting and shooting down many of the drones. “It’s a waste by the Russians of very expensive and limited systems in an attempt to likely achieve a terror effect that isn’t going to sway the Ukrainian government or population,” Clark said. Repairing infrastructure often falls to local administrations to handle. The port city of Odesa in southern Ukraine designated crews to help neighboring Mykolaiv, which has been under Russian bombardment for weeks. In the Kharkiv region, government official Roman Semenukha said Sunday that while repairs to heating systems were underway around the recently liberated city of Kupiansk, it’s a slow process that first must restore electricity, gas and water. “I want to emphasize that private households will be connected to the gas supply, but the situation with high-rise buildings is a bit more complicated, for various reasons,” said Andrii Besedin, an adviser to the head of the Kharkiv military administration. Regional authorities in Kharkiv also are assessing the need for firewood, Besedin said, adding that warming shelters will be set up and authorities would offer to evacuate those who want to leave for the winter. “Those who wish to do so (will move) to safe areas, where there are all communications. We will work every day to restore the critical infrastructure of these networks,” he said. Justin Spike contributed to this report from Kupiansk. Breast Cancer: Five Tips From An Expert On Catching It Early And Keeping Safe – The Conversation Indonesia https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/breast-cancer-five-tips-from-an-expert-on-catching-it-early-and-keeping-safe-the-conversation-indonesia/ Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the world. Every year it claims more than 650,000 lives. Breast cancer affects more women in high-income countries like the US and the UK. But people in low- and middle-income countries, such as Nigeria, are most vulnerable. This is mainly because people in these countries seek medical help at a late stage when the disease is advanced. When breast cancer is at an advanced stage, it is harder to treat and people are more likely to die. Nigeria, for example, has one of the highest breast cancer fatality rates. The country has seen a significant increase in the number of breast cancer cases over the past four decades. It’s currently the most commonly diagnosed cancer and one of the leading causes of cancer deaths in the country. The deficiencies in the Nigerian healthcare system – which requires that most patients pay out-of-pocket for their own healthcare – further contributes to the poor outcomes. Some patients who get diagnosed with breast cancer are either unable to access quality healthcare or suffer catastrophic healthcare expenditure when they do so. Worryingly, most of those affected are in their forties or sometimes younger. White patients tend to be older – often in their sixties. Breast cancer is curable, provided it is detected early and treated promptly. There are steps that one can take to minimise the risk and increase the possibility of survival. I’m a breast cancer expert, working in south-west Nigeria. My work in breast cancer focuses on promoting early detection, creating clinical pathways for prompt evaluation and treatment, and improving treatment outcomes. Based on my experience, I outline here five things one can do to detect breast cancer early and reduce the risk of death. Recognise breast cancer symptoms and signs The first important thing is to be familiar with the symptoms and signs of breast cancer. This will enable you to act promptly. Here are some of the symptoms and signs to watch for: Lump in the breast – not all breast lumps are cancerous but when you feel one seek medical help Change in the size or shape of the breast Dimpling or thickening of a part of the breast Nipple changes such as retraction of the nipple inwards, deformity of the nipple or an ulcer on the nipple Nipple discharge, particularly if bloody Changes in the skin of the breast such as redness Swelling in the armpit. Seek help early If you notice any abnormality in your breast, have your breasts examined by a specialist as soon as possible. There are three ways in which an abnormality in your breast is evaluated: a clinical examination, breast imaging (ultrasound or mammography) and, if necessary, laboratory testing (histopathology). Until you have been evaluated by a trained medical professional, never make assumptions about what you feel in your breast. Take advantage of breast cancer screening Breast cancer screening refers to tests and examinations performed on women who have no symptoms, in order to detect breast cancer very early. All women are generally encouraged to participate in screening, but it is imperative for those who are at high risk, such as those who have a family history of breast cancer. Screening can be done in a variety of ways: Mammography: This is most appropriate if you are 40 years or older. It can be done yearly, or once every two years. It’s a specialised x-ray that examines the breasts for the presence of early signs of breast cancer which are sometimes not evident to the naked eye. It’s the standard way of screening for breast cancer globally. Clinical breast examination: This refers to an examination by a trained health professional – like a doctor or nurse. Although not as sensitive in detecting breast cancer as mammography, it’s an option in situations where mammography isn’t accessible. It’s also recommended for women younger than 40 who may not qualify for mammography. Self breast examination: This refers to the methodical examination of the breasts by a woman herself, looking out for the signs and symptoms I mentioned above. All women right from their twenties are encouraged to do this on a monthly basis. The aim of this is for women to be familiar with their breasts so as to easily recognise any changes that occur. Living healthy Healthy living can potentially reduce your risk of developing breast cancer. Certain activities have been found to contribute to the prevention of breast cancer. This is referred to as primary prevention. These activities promote health and wellness. They include regular exercise, avoidance of a sedentary lifestyle, and weight reduction. These examples of lifestyle modifications have been proven to reduce your chances of developing breast cancer. There are activities that are also known to raise your risk of developing breast cancer. They include smoking, excessive alcohol, and excessive eating of fatty foods. Beware of misinformation Watch out for information circulated on social media. While some information flying around the social space is true, there are several myths and falsehoods about breast cancer. Many of these are perpetuated by people who have no training in the treatment of the disease. For instance, I’ve heard of rumours that breast cancer can develop because women have kept money in their bras, or because a breastfeeding baby bit the mother’s breast. These rumours are untrue. It is also often said that a woman will die if she undergoes treatment or surgical operation for breast cancer. This is untrue too. Some also claim that supplements can cure breast cancer. To date, there is no evidence in science to support this claim. Myths like these are unfounded. People lose their lives because of poor counsel from people who are not trained cancer experts. We can beat breast cancer by living a healthy life, knowing the facts and taking the right decisions.

Apartments Under Contract | News, Sports, Jobs – Warren Tribune Chronicle https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/apartments-under-contract-news-sports-jobs-warren-tribune-chronicle/ The exterior of the Reeves apartment building on West Market Street in Warren. The building is under contract to be sold to out-of-state investors. WARREN — The well-known, but vacant and rundown, Reeves apartment building downtown is under contract to be sold to out-of-state investors. “It is for sale. It is under contract. It has gone through an extensive diligence period, and the seller and the buyers have done a significant amount of work to bring it to fruition,” Don Thomas, a Realtor with Platz Realty, said. “And I believe that we are in a place where it will close sometime in the next 30 to 40 days.” Diligence closes Oct. 31, “and all indications are it’s going to move to closing.” Platz, however, is accepting backup offers. Thomas could not provide further details on the pending transaction or the buyers’ plans because of a nondisclosure agreement. The building, located at 295 W. Market St., anchors the southeast end of what’s commonly referred to as the peninsula — a stretch of land named that way because the Mahoning River wraps around it. The land that stretches to South Street is largely vacant and is prime for redevelopment, something the city has wanted for years through a combination of housing and retail. Warren owns a small piece of land where West Market and South streets meet. Everything else, like the Reeves building, is either privately owned or owned by Warren Redevelopment and Planning, which controls about five acres that was once a Chevrolet dealership. According to the Trumbull County Auditor’s Office, a company named Ohio Property Portfolio 2019 Series C owns the Reeves complex. The company, which formed in 2019 according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office, acquired the building and one acre it sits on for $610,000 in 2019 from Sikora Properties LLC. Sikora Properties purchased it in 2017 for $85,000 from East End RD Burton Inc., according to the auditor’s office. The 45,000-square-foot building was built in 1926 and remodeled in 1968. It also has space for retail on the ground floor. Ohio Property Portfolio also owns Pauni Apartments in Cortland. The company acquired the complex in 2019. It was in 2019 when the investors from Los Angeles who bought the Reeves and their company, Modern On, planned to turn the building into a high-end apartment complex with commercial space on the first floor. But the partnership broke up, said Mike Keys, director of Warren’s Community Development office. The building has been vacant since 2020, when the tenants were relocated so renovations could get underway, but the improvements never happened. Keys said he would like to see the new owners develop higher-end apartments there, especially with a need for housing in Warren. “We have a lot of need, especially with what is happening in Lordstown,” Keys said. “People are taking jobs at Foxconn, etc., and we are going to need housing available.” Today’s breaking news and more in your inbox

Global: Taxes Become More Complex When Entering The Metaverse Lexology
Global: Taxes Become More Complex When Entering The Metaverse Lexology
Global: Taxes Become More Complex When Entering The Metaverse – Lexology https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/global-taxes-become-more-complex-when-entering-the-metaverse-lexology/ Key takeaways The metaverse ecosystem is attracting businesses across industries and is no longer limited to companies with an existing in-depth presence in the digital space. When exploring a move to the metaverse, it is prudent for companies to carefully consider the tax implications of both indirect taxes, such as VAT and sales tax, and direct taxes at the onset. While digital developments always evolve much faster than tax laws can ever adapt, there are areas of opportunities to be at the forefront of doing business in the metaverse environment. In depth More and more companies are either building or considering building a presence in a metaverse. As metaverses continue to develop, they’re blending online multiplayer gaming, cryptocurrency, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and virtual reality into a new immersive digital experience for their users. While metaverses initially seemed to attract companies with an existing in-depth presence in the digital space, a significant number of retail companies and fashion brands are gradually moving toward the metaverse. They see opportunities for new sales for both digital and physical “goods” as well as new interactive advertising opportunities, such as collaborations with gaming platforms that create personalized experiences. Whether it’s fashion brands that sell digital accessories or clothes to dress up avatars (sometimes even creating both a digital and physical product), car brands that facilitate a personalized mode of online transport, or even music artists that perform online, there is always a tax angle that should be taken into account. While indirect taxes such as VAT and sales tax will be at the forefront of these developments, one should also carefully consider the potential direct tax consequences right from the start. In this article, we aim to provide a non-exhaustive overview of some high-level tax aspects to consider when expanding into the metaverse ecosystem. Indirect Tax Retail brands generally sell physical goods to their customers; however, digital products such as NFTs, skins, and avatar accessories may, for EU VAT purposes, be regarded as a provision of electronic services, which potentially brings a different set of VAT rules to the table. Companies should therefore take into account that physical wholesale operations may change to digital retail operations in a metaverse. For example, instead of having an international wholesale channel to local physical shops in a country where only local VAT rates are charged, identifying the physical location of all your virtual customers becomes important. The reason for this is that every sale potentially triggers the requirement at a headquarters level to remit VAT to the respective jurisdiction in which that customer is located. Additionally, new business concepts such as virtual metaverse-based marketplaces will have to deal with tax legislation that is not yet updated to account for these developments. As a result, undesirable consequences such as the risk of accumulation of VAT may occur if transactions between private users take place on these platforms. This can happen, for example, when (re)selling unique “second-hand” digital goods—a concept that was simply not possible before NFTs were introduced. Current VAT deemed reseller rules (as laid out in Article 9a of the EU VAT Implementing Regulation 2011/282) still seem to apply/extend to resales of digital goods where they’ve been previously sold to private users and are resold via such virtual marketplaces. Right now, accumulation can’t be avoided by using margin scheme rules for the sale of second-hand goods, as Article 316(1) of the VAT directive states that the margin scheme doesn’t apply to the sale of services and, therefore, not to digital products. Direct Tax A company moving into a metaverse environment should be aware that its actions may have direct tax consequences as well. For example, a company that buys or rents virtual real estate in a metaverse in exchange for cryptocurrencies may realize a taxable gain on its cryptocurrency, depending on the tax legislation of the jurisdiction in which the company is a tax resident. If a company decides to develop its own NFTs and sell those in a metaverse—such as a fashion company selling unique branded clothes which can be worn by an avatar—any gain realized on an increase of value of the relevant NFT may also be taxed along with the cryptocurrencies the company receives in return. An important question to consider is at what time these gains become taxable. Is it at the moment of the virtual transaction? Or is it at the moment that the cryptocurrency is converted into euros or dollars? It may even be that a certain increase in value is taxed annually, based on the value at a certain moment during the year or the average value over the year. At what time a taxable event may arise therefore depends entirely on where the entity is a tax resident. In practice, one should carefully consider where to set up the business entity that will operate in a metaverse and to determine this before the business is commenced to avoid lengthy exit tax discussions with tax authorities. The entity, however, may not only be taxed where it is a tax resident. Part of the profits may also be taxed in jurisdictions where employees carry out their activities, depending on where developers/employees carry them out. One should therefore carefully consider what kind of activities employees carry out abroad for the entity. A last point of attention is the transfer pricing aspects of selling combined products, such as selling clothes in the real world to which an NFT is attached that an avatar in a metaverse can use. In those cases, the actual sale of the item may be done by a company who is a tax resident in the US, for example, while the company developing the NFT is a tax resident of the UAE. In such cases, one should determine how much profit should be allocated to the US tax resident company, and how much should be allocated to the UAE tax resident company. Of course, selling combined products also potentially carries a significant indirect tax impact—not only from a place of supply point of view but also whether a single supply or multiple supplies take place. Conclusion As digital developments always evolve much faster than tax laws, more questions can be raised than answers can be given when it comes to transactions inside the metaverse ecosystem and the on-ramping/off-ramping of funds into the “real” world. While in the short term, this lack of legal clarity can be challenging, this also creates opportunities to work proactively with tax authorities and be on the forefront of doing business in the metaverse environment. * This article was first published by Bloomberg Tax on 13 September 2022 Content is provided for educational and informational purposes only and is not intended and should not be construed as legal advice. Brave Rifles Bring Vehicles To Event | News | Forthoodsentinel.com – The Fort Hood Sentinel https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/brave-rifles-bring-vehicles-to-event-news-forthoodsentinel-com-the-fort-hood-sentinel/ SALADO — Troopers from the 3rd Cavalry Regiment joined the City of Salado and the Salado Public Library for the Touch a Truck event on Friday at the Salado Public Library parking lot to help build community partnerships. “The reason we have it is just so the kids can kind get to see the police car fire engines and military vehicles up close and personal,” said April Gatliff, Youth assistant at Salado Public Library. “Most of them only get to see it in passing, and they’re fascinated by it. So, this is just a chance for them to come out here and see it up close.” The Killer Troop Thunder Squadron 3rd Cav. Regt. made the event possible, by bringing a Stryker fighting vehicle and a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. The Static display of vehicles allowed children and adults to ask questions about first responders and military vehicles. Everyone could explore military equipment up close, sit behind the wheel and play with the numerous levers and gadgets around the vehicle. “It’s definitely a huge honor,” said Staff Sgt. Alexander McCampbell, Killer Troop, 3rd Sqdn., 3rd Cav. Regt. “It’s really fun to be able to show all these kids this and get them a little bit excited about what we do every day and what we used to do.” McCampbell, an infantryman, explained him and his Soldiers do this every day, but these kids don’t, so I think they are very happy to be able to see these vehicles. For many of the children, it was the first time they had ever seen such equipment up close. The event was a great success, providing children and adults with valuable information about first responders and military vehicles. Eight-year-old Michael Giganti, his older sister Angelina, 11, and their young sister Sofia, 4, had the chance to pretend to drive the Stryker fighting vehicle and a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. They said they enjoyed the event. “I liked it a lot it was cool,” Michael said. “We got to push all the buttons and sit in the front.” Events like this serve as one of the many ways for Soldiers to demonstrate their commitment to Fort Hood’s partner communities. It helps build positive relationships with the people they serve and is essential in helping to maintain a strong sense of community between Fort Hood and its surrounding communities. “I didn’t expect them to bring such cool, awesome-looking vehicles,” Gatliff said. “The Soldiers have been great, they helped us with crowd control in the parking lot, and the kids are just so pumped to see them.”

Voyager Customers Could Recover 72% Of Frozen Crypto Under FTX Deal – Cointelegraph https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/voyager-customers-could-recover-72-of-frozen-crypto-under-ftx-deal-cointelegraph/ The plan is tentative at this stage and won’t be finalized until it receives approval from Voyager’s creditors and the bankruptcy payout plan is approved by the judge. 478 Total views 33 Total shares Customers of bankrupt crypto lender Voyager Digital may be able to recover 72% of the value of their accounts under a tentative deal with FTX US, according to court documents.  However, United States bankruptcy judge Michael Wiles during a court hearing said the tentative sale would not be final until it receives the approval of Voyager’s creditors and he approves the bankruptcy payout plan, saying during the court hearing: “If the plan falls apart, there’s no part of this agreement that survives.” There is also the inclusion of a clause called a “fiduciary out,” which allows Voyager to cancel the deal with FTX should any offers be presented that offer a better outcome for creditors.  The clause is often included in bankruptcy cases, allowing companies to consider higher offers until the sale is finalized to ensure creditors get the best deal possible. Voyager had previously hinted that its customers may eventually transition to the FTX platform after the exchange had secured the winning bid on Sept. 27 at a valuation of approximately $1.4 billion following a two-week bidding process. The tentative plan from FTX would enable all priority claims to be paid out in full and allow other account holders to recover approximately 72% of the value of their accounts, which have been frozen since July 1. Related: Voyager Digital won’t sue its executives for incompetence, will claim insurance on them The figure doesn’t include funds it may recoup as part of its claim against Three Arrows Capital (3AC) after the crypto hedge fund had defaulted on its loan repayments to Voyager. Any additional funds received as part of this claim will allow Voyager account holders to recover a greater percentage of their frozen accounts. Voyager had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 4 due to liquidity issues following the default of crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital. Voyager said the bid from FTX US was made up of the fair market value of its crypto holdings as of a to-be-determined date, which as of Sept. 26 is estimated at $1.3 billion, as well as additional consideration of at least $111 million.

U.S. Has Viewed Wreckage Of Kamikaze Drones Russia Used In Ukraine – The Washington Post https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/u-s-has-viewed-wreckage-of-kamikaze-drones-russia-used-in-ukraine-the-washington-post/ The U.S. government has examined the wreckage of Iranian-made drones shot down in Ukraine, deepening its insight into the unmanned craft that Russia has launched in a spate of kamikaze attacks on the country’s critical infrastructure, according to two U.S. officials. Information about the drones’ structure and technology could prove crucial in helping the United States and its Ukrainian allies better identify and ultimately defeat them before they can reach their targets. Officials said the process has been used in the past to study weaponry deployed by Iran’s proxies in conflicts in the Middle East. People interviewed for this report spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence collection. The Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used in this week’s attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, have targeted power stations and other utilities, killing at least four, authorities there have said. Their use by Russian forces has underscored the growing ties between Moscow and Tehran, alarming Western leaders whose sanctions and other punitive economic measures have drastically undercut the Kremlin’s ability to regenerate its military after eight months of war. The Iranian-made drones are being launched from three Russian military bases in Crimea and another position in Belarus, a Ukrainian official said. Tehran has dispatched advisers to Russian-controlled areas, where they have provided operators with technical instruction. It is unclear how the United States gained access to the drone wreckage, though the Pentagon coordinates closely with Ukraine’s military and maintains a small administrative presence at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv. That team is led by a one-star Army general. SWITCHBLADE 300 (U.S.) Length: 20 inches Max. speed: 100 mph Approx. weight: 5.5 pounds Range: About 6 miles Sources: Defense Express, AeroVironment WILLIAM NEFF/THE WASHINGTON POST The Shahed is a large, lumbering aircraft that flies very low and appears to have few metallic parts, making it difficult to detect with radars and other sensors before reaching its target. Examination of the wreckage may help overcome those challenges. The drones’ points of origin pose another challenge, the Ukrainian official said: They are too far for U.S.-supplied rocket artillery to strike, blunting options for destroying the aircraft before they are airborne. Ukraine, which says it has destroyed more than 220 Shahed-136 drones since Sept. 13, appears to be studying the platform, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur told reporters this week. Pevkur said it was of regional urgency to learn about the aircraft. “We all have to understand that we all have to put our efforts to that. To understand how it works, and to understand how to take it down,” he said. “Because it’s not only the question of Ukraine at war at the moment, but it’s a question of all of us who are in the situation where we are.” Iran produces a variety of drones and has reportedly supplied them to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Houthi rebels in Yemen, among other groups. The Pentagon believes Iran-allied forces have used them against U.S. military personnel in Syria, including in an August attack at the U.S.-run base at Tanf. The Houthis claimed to have used Samad-3 drones to attack a refinery in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last spring, and launched Samad-1 drones at Saudi Aramco facilities in other parts of the country. Those drones are distinct from the weapons used by Russia in Ukraine. In February, the United Arab Emirates was hit by several drone and missile attacks claimed by the Houthis. In a military parade last month in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, the Houthis reportedly displayed a local version of the Shahed-136. Ukraine has asked the United Nations to examine the wreckage, to determine the aircraft’s country of origin. In a letter dated Friday, Ukraine’s U.N. ambassador invited “U.N. experts to visit Ukraine at the earliest possible opportunity to inspect recovered Iran-origin drones.” The letter maintained that Iranian transfers of the drones would violate both U.N. sanctions against Iran and terms of the 2015 U.N. Security Council resolution on the Iran nuclear deal that year. The Council held a closed-door meeting Wednesday to hear “an expert briefing … on recent evidence that Russia illegally procured Iranian UAVs that it is using in its war on Ukraine,” Nate Evans, spokesperson for the American U.N. mission, said in a statement after the session. “These UAVs were transferred from Iran to Russia in open violation of provisions” of the resolution approving the nuclear deal Iran signed with world powers. Earlier this week, France and Britain — signers of the deal along with Iran, the United States, Germany, Russia and China — echoed Ukrainian charges that sending the drones to Russia violated a provision prohibiting Iran from transferring unmanned aerial vehicles with a range of more than 300 kilometers (186.4 miles) unless it had specific permission from the council. “As was outlined during today’s meeting,” the statement from Evans said, “there is ample evidence that Russia is using Iranian-made UAVS” in its attacks on Ukraine. “By procuring these weapons in violation of U.N. Security Council Resolutions, Russia continues to flout international law in its pursuit of a senseless and brutal war.” The statement did not indicate any immediate action would be taken, although Evans said “we anticipate this will be the first of many conversations at the U.N. on how to hold Iran and Russia accountable for failing to comply with U.N. Security Council-imposed obligations.” The Shahed loiters in the air until it identifies a target, often a fixed position, and then dives into it, detonating onboard explosives. Unlike bigger reusable drones that fire missiles and return to a base, it flies low and slow. Ukrainians call it “the lawn mower” because of the loud buzzing sound it makes. The distinct noise has served as a warning of its approach, allowing people to scramble for cover and brace for the explosion, which is smaller than the impact caused by conventional ballistic missiles. The drones pose a significant problem, analysts say. Many defensive systems capable of defeating them are costly, are designed mostly for bigger threats like jets and helicopters, and take months or years to produce, limiting how many can be distributed and forcing military planners to prioritize sites deemed most vulnerable. While Ukrainian air defenses have shown some success against the drones, even a few slipping through can cause havoc, said Samuel Bendett, an expert on the Russian military at CNA, a research group. “It’s a demonstration of Russian capability, and now they have cheap plentiful weapons that can constantly remind Ukrainians that their skies are not 100 percent safe,” he said....
