https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K17vy89wXJI

We’re in East Atlanta taking care of a client who found us online and needed their home move-in ready before the weekend and this is exactly what we do.

On this job, we completed: ✅ Hardwood floor screen & recoat
✅ UV Cure finish for fast turnaround and durability
✅ Granite countertop cleaning, polishing, and sealing

No full sanding.
No long downtime.
Just a professional refresh done the right way so the homeowners can move in on time with confidence.

This is a perfect example of how a screen and recoat with UV curing can restore clarity, protection, and shine to hardwood floors in a single day, while also refreshing stone surfaces like granite countertops.

If you’re in East Atlanta or surrounding Georgia areas and need: • Hardwood floor screen & recoat
• UV-cured finishes
• Granite, marble, or stone countertop services

This video shows exactly what that process looks like.

Referred Hardwood Floor Restoration | Screen & Recoat with UV Cure | Braselton, GA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGStGi2Z00w

We’re in Braselton, Georgia, working inside the Grand Reunion Country Club community on a beautiful hardwood floor restoration for Ms. Lorraine.

This project came from a referral, and those always mean a lot. A big thank you to Ms. Suzanne for recommending us — we restored her floors about a year ago with a screen and re-coat using our UV curing system, and she trusted us enough to send another homeowner our way. That kind of trust is earned.

🪵 About This Project ✔ Approximately 800 square feet ✔ Screen & re-coat (no sanding needed) ✔ UV cure system — same-day results ✔ ProCoat rag coat system for a smooth, even finish

The floors were structurally sound and a perfect candidate for a screen and re-coat. Instead of sanding away years of character, we focused on preserving the existing wood, refreshing the finish, and adding a durable new protective layer.

⚡ Why UV Cure? • Fast cure time • Minimal downtime • Furniture can go back sooner • Clean, consistent results

A screen and re-coat is one of the best options when your hardwood floors are dull, worn, or lightly scratched but still in good condition. Same floors — just refreshed, protected, and brought back to life.

If you’re in Braselton, GA or the surrounding areas and want honest guidance on whether your floors need sanding or just a screen and re-coat, this video will give you real-world insight.

Thanks for watching, and thank you to our clients who continue to support and refer our work. That’s how this business is built.

In this video, I’m walking you through a real screen and recoat job — including the pros and the limitations of the process.

This floor had deep gouges and deep scratches, and that’s important to talk about honestly.

A screen and recoat is not full sanding, and it’s not floor replacement — but for the right situation, it can still be a very smart solution.

WHAT A SCREEN & RECOAT DOES: ✔ Restores clarity and overall appearance ✔ Adds a fresh protective finish ✔ Improves dull, worn, and lightly scratched floors ✔ Cost-effective compared to sanding or replacement ✔ Completed in one day, not one week

WHAT A SCREEN & RECOAT DOES NOT DO: ✖ It will not remove deep gouges or deep scratches ✖ It does not flatten damaged wood ✖ It will not make a heavily damaged floor look brand new

That’s why I always explain this upfront and include it in my service agreement — so homeowners know exactly what to expect before the work begins.

In this situation, the goal wasn’t perfection. The goal was improvement, protection, and extending the life of the floor.

Some homeowners want “brand new.” Others are perfectly happy with better, protected, and refreshed — and that’s okay.

If you’re considering a screen and recoat, this video will help you decide if it’s the right option for your floor and your expectations.

Two Jobs, One Day : Pine Floor Restoration + Concrete Basement Cleaning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1K5RQ8S6pI

In this video, we completed two different restoration projects in one day, each requiring a completely different approach — but the same level of care, experience, and attention to detail.

🪵 Project #1: Pine Wood Floor Restoration
The homeowner found us online and had been watching our videos before reaching out. The pine floor had uneven color, wear, and a tired-looking finish. Instead of sanding, we performed a professional screen and recoat with color correction, followed by UV curing to instantly harden and protect the new finish.

This process allowed us to:
✔ Improve color consistency
✔ Refresh the appearance without removing excess wood
✔ Apply a durable protective coating
✔ UV cure the finish for same-day use

🧱 Project #2: Basement Concrete Floor Cleaning
After the wood floor work, we moved on to a basement concrete cleaning. Concrete requires a completely different process than wood, and proper cleaning can dramatically improve both appearance and usability of the space.

✔ Deep professional cleaning
✔ Removal of built-up dirt and residue
✔ Restored a cleaner, brighter concrete surface

After completing the concrete job, we returned to the pine floor to UV cure the finish, locking everything in and delivering a final result the homeowner was extremely happy with.

🎯 What This Video Shows
• Why not every floor needs sanding
• How different surfaces require different restoration methods
• The value of experience over guesswork
• Real projects, real results, real clients

If you’re a homeowner trying to understand your options — or a contractor looking to learn the why behind these processes — this video breaks it down in a real, honest way.

East Atlanta Solid Wood Floor Screen & Recoat | No Sanding Needed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6OS2t2sJBI

We’re out here in East Atlanta restoring a solid wood floor with a professional screen and recoat.

This client had been following me on YouTube and social media for a while, and when it came time to refresh their floors, they already knew who to call. That kind of trust means everything.

🪵 ABOUT THIS FLOOR ✔ Solid wood (not engineered) ✔ Dull finish from everyday wear ✔ Structurally sound — a perfect candidate for a screen & recoat

Instead of sanding away years of character, we focused on preservation: • Thorough professional cleaning • Light screening of the existing finish • Application of a fresh protective coating • Restored clarity, uniformity, and shine

A screen and recoat isn’t about replacement — it’s about extending the life of the floor. Same floor. Same character. Just protected, refreshed, and brought back to life.

Homeowner Was Told to Replace Her Floors Here’s What We Did Instead | Locust Grove GA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zrsd_HBeXI

We recently completed a wood floor screen and recoat along with granite countertop cleaning and polishing in Locust Grove, Georgia and this project is a perfect example of why homeowners should always get a second opinion before replacing floors.

This homeowner found us on Google, started watching our videos, and reached out after receiving two very different (and expensive) recommendations: • One company told her to cover up the floors • Another company told her to replace the floors entirely

After inspecting the floors, we found light wax and residue buildup from the last few years, along with surface wear and dullness not structural damage.

Since the home is going on the market, the goal was to spruce up the floors, improve appearance, and protect them without sanding or replacing.

🪵 Wood Floor Service Performed: • Professional deep cleaning • Removal of surface residue and light wax buildup • Mechanical screening to prep the existing finish • Application of a fresh protective recoat • Improved clarity, uniformity, and overall appearance

🪨 Granite Countertop Service: • Deep professional cleaning • Buffing and polishing • Restored clarity and shine to enhance presentation for resale

⚠️ This was a screen and recoat, not a full sanding, and no UV curing was used on this job. The focus was smart restoration not overkill.

The result was a cleaner, brighter, more market-ready home and a very happy client who avoided unnecessary replacement costs.

If you’re selling your home or your floors look dull, hazy, or worn, replacement is not always the answer.

We just completed another professional screen and recoat with UV curing in Suwanee, Georgia, along with a full granite countertop clean, buff, polish, and seal. This project is a perfect example of how you can restore and protect wood floors without sanding, while also bringing natural stone countertops back to life. 🪵 Wood Floor Process (Screen & Recoat + UV Cure): ✔ Thorough professional cleaning ✔ Light mechanical screening to ensure proper adhesion ✔ Application of a high-performance commercial-grade finish ✔ UV curing for instant hardness, durability, and same-day use This process refreshes the floor’s appearance, improves uniformity, and adds long-term protection—without removing the wear layer or risking damage to engineered wood floors. 🪨 Granite Countertop Restoration: ✔ Deep professional cleaning ✔ Buffing and polishing to restore clarity and shine ✔ Sealing to protect against stains, moisture, and daily wear The result is a cleaner, richer, more polished stone surface with improved longevity. ⚠️ Important to Know: A screen and recoat is a restorative and protective service, not a full sanding. Depending on wear and condition, homeowners can typically expect 50–80% visual improvement while significantly extending the life of their floors and countertops. The Dirty Secret Behind Wood Floor Finishes (Why Your Floors Dont Last)
The Dirty Secret Behind Wood Floor Finishes (Why Your Floors Dont Last)

The Dirty Secret Behind Wood Floor Finishes (Why Your Floors Don’t Last)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjpE_B0rkGQ

Most homeowners think the most important part of a wood floor refinishing job is the sanding.

That’s only half the story.

What actually determines how long your floors last, how they wear, and how protected they stay is the finish that goes on top of the floor — and this is where a lot of people get misled.

Over the years, I’ve had to go behind countless contractors and companies to fix floors that were refinished not that long ago. Homeowners are confused and frustrated because they were told their floors were “done right,” yet the finish is already wearing down, dulling out, or failing altogether.

The truth is simple:

👉 All wood floor finishes are NOT equal.

Many contractors use cheap, low-grade finishes that don’t hold up to real life — foot traffic, pets, moisture, and daily wear. When those finishes fail early, it makes homeowners think something is wrong with their floors… when in reality, the problem is what was put on top of them.

Even worse, some contractors will: • Pour cheap finish into premium finish bottles
• Tell homeowners they’re getting a high-end product when they’re not
• Cut corners to save money, knowing the failure won’t show up right away

In this video, I break down: • Why your floors may be wearing faster than they should
• How cheap finishes cause early failure and confusion
• What actually makes a finish durable and long-lasting
• Why transparency matters when choosing a contractor

I also show what I use in my warehouse, how my finishes are handled, and why every finish I use is unsealed and verified — no tricks, no shortcuts, no guessing.

If your floors are wearing faster than expected, this video will explain exactly why.

📌 Remember: A beautiful floor means nothing if the protection on top of it is weak.

This project was all about precision, experience, and doing it right.

Two weeks ago, this brand-new herringbone white oak floor in Alpharetta, Georgia was stained with black dye—but the stain was applied too heavily. The result? The entire floor had to be resanded.

Today, we came back and restored it properly: • Light professional screening
• Recoated using the Redcoat Procoat system
• UV cured on-site for an instant, durable finish

The result is a flawless, mirror-clean floor—about 1,200 square feet plus stairs—with perfect color balance, clarity, and protection.

This is the difference between rushing a process and understanding the material. Wood floors don’t lie. Every board tells a story—and when you know how to read it, the results speak for themselves.

She Paid Less… Now Her Wood Floors Are Failing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrFKcF9mym8

A homeowner just called me today only ONE month after having her wood floors “professionally” done and her floors are already failing.

She believed the contractor didn’t do what he promised.
She chose the cheaper price.
And now she’s dealing with peeling, failure, and frustration.

This is a situation I see far too often.

In this video, I break down: • Why cheap wood floor work often fails quickly
• What contractors skip when they cut corners
• How improper prep causes finishes to fail
• What homeowners should look for BEFORE hiring
• How to protect yourself from costly mistakes

⚠️ This isn’t about bashing contractors.
It’s about education, transparency, and protecting homeowners from paying twice.

When it comes to wood floors: 👉 The cheapest price is often the most expensive decision.

If you’ve been told: • “This is the best deal”
• “It doesn’t need prep”
• “It’ll be fine”

You NEED to see this video.

Instead of sanding, we:
✔️ Removed all wax buildup
✔️ Deep cleaned the hardwood
✔️ Neutralized the surface properly
✔️ Buffed the floor to restore its natural shine

The result?
A completely transformed hardwood floor — no sanding, no dust, no mess.

About a year ago, the previous contractor failed to properly screen the floor, causing the finish to start peeling shortly after the job. Instead of sanding everything down or replacing the floor, we came in and corrected the problem the right way.

✅ Proper screen & recoat ✅ UV-cured finish (one-day process) ✅ Professional color correction ✅ No sanding, no replacement

“They Tried an Experimental Finish… Now the Floor Has to Be Re-Sanded”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12shIBezAgU

On this job, we were called out to perform a screen and recoat but once we evaluated the floor and began the process, it became clear that recoating was not possible. The floor had been sanded and coated previously with multiple heavy applications of a water-based India ink finish. While the floor appeared solid at first glance, the excessive buildup and unstable coating system prevented proper abrasion and bonding for a recoat. 👉 This was not our floor, and we did not apply the original finish. 👉 However, it’s a perfect example of how experimental products and over-application can stop a standard maintenance process in its tracks. In this video, we explain: • Why the floor could not be safely screened and recoated • How too many coats can compromise adhesion • Why some floors must be fully re-sanded instead • What homeowners and contractors should consider before using non-traditional finishes This is an educational walkthrough to help prevent costly mistakes and to explain when a recoat works — and when it doesn’t. If you’re considering a screen & recoat, or experimenting with specialty finishes, this is a must-watch. 📍 Serving Georgia and surrounding areas 📞 770-896-8876 🌐 www.trumanhardwoodrefinishing.com
