WDFW seeks applicants for Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALEA) grants | Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife
OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is now accepting grant applications for volunteer projects that benefit the state’s fish and wildlife resources and the public’s enjoyment of them.WDFW estimates having approximately $896,900 available for grants, funded through the state’s Aquatic Land Enhancement Account (ALEA), for projects occurring between July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027.  The final amount available will be subject to legislative appropriation and won’t be finalized unless approved in the 2025 legislative session.

USDA Receives Overwhelming Interest for Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Opportunity | NRCS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today that the second funding pool through the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities opportunity received over 600 applications from over 400 groups. While USDA is in the process of calculating the total requested amount for the second funding pool, the overall interest in the opportunity already exceeds more than $18 billion.

The deadline to apply for a small project grant, with funding available up to $150,000, is Feb. 28, while the deadline for large project grants, eligible for funding between $150,000 to $750,000, is March 7.

The Washington DNR Urban and Community Forestry Program is offering grants of up to $40,000 to increase forest health within communities. “We’re looking for applications from local governments, cities, towns, counties, 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, tribes, special taxing districts like school districts, parks districts, conservation districts and what have you,” said Thompson.
