The Encyclopedia Board of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) was established in 2014 under the visionary proposal of Mr. Masrour Barzani. Our primary goal is to introduce, collect, document, and publish the rich history of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, showcasing the remarkable work and struggles undertaken by the party.

In addition to fulfilling these crucial tasks, our Encyclopedia Board maintains a vast library and archive. Since our establishment, we have published several books that delve deep into the party's history. To complement our efforts, we have developed an extensive website called Partipedia (www.partipedia.org), which hosts a variety of columns covering diverse topics.

Library of Congress Genre/Form Terms PDF Files
The Genre/Form Terms for Library and Archival Materials (LCGFT) is now a separate product but was for several years part of the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH). LCSH is perhaps the most widely adopted subject indexing language in the world, has been translated into many languages, and is used around the world by libraries large and small. LCSH has been actively maintained since 1898 to catalog materials held at the Library of Congress. Proposals for additions and changes are reviewed regularly at staff meetings in the Policy and Standards Division (PSD) and an approved list is published.

Library of Congress Descriptive Cataloging Manual PDF Files

The Library of Congress Descriptive Cataloging Manual (DCM) contains local cataloging policy and practices for Library of Congress (LC) staff generally, and LC/NACO policies for name and series authority records (DCM sections Z1 and Z12). Listed below are the most current versions of the DCM files, available for free download. The LC Guidelines Supplement to the MARC 21 Format for Authority Data (to be used in conjunction with DCM section Z1) is also included here.

Note: The formatting of the files is inconsistent, due to their conversion from various source file formats. Some of the revision dates are estimated, based on the content. Some of the content is out-of-date and represents historical practice. Updates to the documents are made as time permits.

The Federal Register is the official journal of record for acts of the United States government. The publication is a primary source for proposed rules, final rules, and rule changes within U.S. federal agencies, as well as for executive orders and other presidential documents. Updated daily and printed Monday through Friday (with the exception of federal holidays), the Federal Register includes the following categories:

  • Presidential documents, executive orders, and proclamations
  • Rules and regulations (policy statements and interpretations of rules by federal agencies)
  • Proposed rules (petitions by agencies for assistance in rulemaking and other proposals
  • Notices (scheduled hearings and meetings open to the public, grant applications, and administrative orders)

The core of the APP document collection is based on published collections of presidential documents. Except for recent presidents, these collections omitted many documents such as proclamations, vetoes and orders. So, prior to 1945, the number of documents in the APP collection in any specific category may be smaller than the total in existence. So, based simply on document frequencies, our collection overstates the activity level of the post-FDR presidency compared to earlier years.
