Wonderful look at the Christmases Remus and Sirius spend together (and apart *sniffle*) from Hogwarts through Azkaban and beyond. Oh, my heart.

Sirius proposes to Remus at James and Lily's wedding. What I really like about this story is how it absolutely nails Remus and Sirius's respective attitudes towards their relationship ('I love you, you lanky git.' 'I know, I know,' said Remus, skin burning from the intensity of Sirius’ gaze. 'But I'm not like you.' Sirius studied Remus’ face for a long time before he said, 'you're worried, aren’t you? You’re worried that I'm going to run off with some flighty thing in a few years when I get bored of you and your threadbare cable knit jumpers, is that it?' Remus shifted uncomfortably. 'Sort of, yeah.' 'Nonsense! You are my flighty thing. I love you. Even though you are completely crackers,' Sirius said affectionately.) and how passionate Sirius is about having the same rights as others. *sniffle*

Remus spent a lot of time trying not to question just how else things were different now, and if they were different for Sirius as well. Thinking about it too much might lead him to do something that would make Sirius get up and leave the couch for good. A year out of school, he missed being with Sirius all the time. His feelings may have been unrequited, but Remus was happy to go on this way if it meant he could wake up in the morning with the person he had wanted to be with for so long. Small, perfectly wrought scene full of UST. *happy sigh*

"As an habitual giver of extraordinary gifts," he began in a lofty tone, "I’ve attempted to best myself each and every year." Remus rolled his eyes, though he could feel a smile tugging at one of his scars. “This year, however, is our final year. And as such, I worried that I would have to break tradition, for what could possibly best the presents of yesteryear? Then I was struck.” He paused dramatically. "The best thing I could possibly give to you all is, in fact, the gift of me." Sirius gives Remus an awesome gift their last Christmas at Hogwarts. Soft and lovely.

Catherine Weaver (as she goes by now) loves being right. It might seem like a petty thing, a mere show of superiority, but she has never met a machine consciousness more advanced than her own and so she has no need for any additional reason to feel “above.” Weaver loves being right because it means she has figured out a puzzle. Possessing correct data doesn’t mean that one is right; being right only happens when one has been bold enough to risk drawing a conclusion – to interpret. Being right means that one has risked being wrong. It is for similar reasons that she also loves to be surprised, though few things manage to do it. Both machines and humans can be so… predictable. At least for someone who understands their behavior like Weaver does. Brilliant look at Weaver and how she ends up where she does on the show. Utterly fantastic.

It’s been awhile since Eliot saw his little brother. Staring down the barrel of Arthur’s gun was not exactly how he’d hoped a reunion might happen, but he has to admit the odds had been better than even. “What’s up with your hair?” he asks curiously. Arthur’s jaw tightens like he’s chewing on his first response, his brows furrowing in a way that Eliot can admit looks pretty badass. “My hair?” Arthur finally growls, and Eliot smirks and does the Revlon hair toss, using the motion to conduct a quick visual survey of the hotel room his baby brother is guarding. hee! Eliot and Arthur as estranged brothers works surprisingly well in this adorable crossover.

Five times Colin danced with Penelope. Theirs was my favorite book of the Bridgerton series, and this story captures exactly why - Penelope's stoic pining and Colin's slow realization. Lovely.

He’s never done this with just anyone. There have been girls, sure, plenty of girls back home, but Bucky’s never felt safe and vulnerable all at once when he’s been on his knees for a dame. He’s been on his knees for Steve before, twice back when they were in Brooklyn, too far gone on cheap beer and untainted by war. Steve had still been smaller than him, but with Bucky’s knees going numb on the cheap carpet of his apartment, the height difference had been turned on its head then, too. Bucky doesn’t think he’d do those things with anyone other than Steve. Hot yet sweet PWP, the first time Steve and Bucky are together after Steve's become Captain America.

Sequel to "paralyzed down both sides" (previously recced), the non-powered AU where Steve is a cop and Bucky comes back from the war as a Russian assassin. In which Bucky finally reaches a breaking point. *sniffle*

Sweet story where Steve adopts a cat and Bucky has to learn to live with it (for Steve, I would learn to live with a cat, and I am terribly allergic, so I feel Bucky on this one). (Author says modern AU, but I figure it can be set after Bucky's back so not really AU at all)

Dumbledore and Moody send Remus and Sirius off on what appears to be a wild goose chase, which would be fine except it's the morning after their first time together and Sirius would have preferred to spend it in bed. Oh, my heart. This made me tear up with happiness and also the knowledge that soon everything is going to change and not for the better. Oh, Remus. Oh, Sirius. *sniffle*

When Steve leans down--leans down, Bucky is still wrapping his mind around that one--when he kisses Bucky, tender and earnest, like this is something that he’s wanted to do as long as Bucky has... That’s when Bucky realizes that this was the best idea ever, because they were meant to do this. They were made to do this. This kissing, and Steve’s arms around Bucky’s waist and Bucky’s arm wrapped around Steve’s shoulders and neck, is as natural as breathing and right as rain, and something they should have done so long ago and as much as possible. I draw a million sparkly hearts around this. This is absolutely what happened after Steve rescued Bucky at the Hydra base.

For I Mean to Conquer Troy by
For I Mean to Conquer Troy by
Set one year post movie, Charles overloads himself in Cerebro, and his mind goes walkabout; wherever he is (and he’s around), it’s not in his body. Erik temporarily takes over the school in his absence, and finds that there’s little time for resentment or hatred when he’s busy organizing assigned reading for English lit, keeping the youngest children out of trouble, and trying to talk Raven into wearing clothing for the boys’ sake. Somewhere in between taking responsibility for the students and dreaming Charles’ dreams every night, he manages to remember that he’s something rather more than a weapon. In other words: A Love Story between two Gentlemen, told in Prose, Epistles, and Nonsense Rhymes. pretty much what the summary says. Nicely characterized and surprisingly moving in spots.
