Really lovely retelling of season 1 if it were set in the old West and Sam had been born a girl. He's never made a secret of it. Sam's a better person than him. For Dean, it's been the best part of his life, to do whatever he can, whenever he can, to get her just a little bit further. She's the part of their family that deserves to get out of this in one piece. If Dean can do that, if he can just get her safe and whole, his life'll have been worth it. Her eyes go a little wide, like she's seeing that, like she's seeing something in him. He doesn't squirm or look away or try to deflect. He's too tired for that. (Wincest)
In a small scarlet book, in neatly inked numbers, Inara tracked her year according to Sihnon. Today in the city of her birth and training was the feast of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night of the year. In their celebrations and prayers, people looked to the waning of the Yin and the waxing power of the Yang. Sacrifices were offered to ancestors and red dumplings were eaten in broth. For Companions the day had another, bittersweet taste: it was a day to contemplate the turning of the wheel. It was the day novitiates were accepted to the Academy and girls who had passed the initial training received their first-level names. It was the day a deceased Companion's name was embroidered on her House's banner and retired. Lovely story of Inara remembering Nandi and mourning her.
M'gann ends up on a pirate ship. She makes the best of it, as she always does. ♥M'gann♥ This is really lovely. “Where'd you get the clothes?” he asks. “Er.” Megan responds, and thinks that maybe this 'fit in' thing is harder than she thought. “I'm...handy with sewing?” she tries. And she is, actually. It's been about a year and half since she learned how not to burn cookies. Cooking had gone so well that she'd had more time to branch out. And with the sheer amount of shirts Superboy went through in a week, sewing had seemed a great art to try. (animated YJ)
This is adorable. Darcy flirts with Hawkeye. Hawkeye flirts back. Also, Darcy/taser=OTP. I love that fandom takes one ten second cameo and already there's fic.
Lovely, achy look at Jim slowly falling for Bones, more a character study than a romance. Starfleet is full of people who are trying to be perfect. He and Bones are just trying not to fuck things up as badly as they have thus far. On the bright side, Jim figures that can't actually be too hard.
“I don’t need to be rescued,” Annie complains. “I’m not a little girl.” “We thought you were going to punch him in the face and start a bar brawl,” Troy explains. “Yeah,” Abed agrees. “We’re too tired for that. Today has been pretty eventful.” “But another time a bar brawl might be kind of fun,” Troy adds. “Oh right,” Annie says and slumps back down in her seat and stares at her half empty Corona. Sweet, achy, and slyly funny story of how Abed and Troy become Abed and Troy and Annie.
Robin is down after the decision to make Aqualad the leader of the team. Batman actually helps him deal with it like an almost emotionally healthy person. Also, there is a hug. A hug! (animated YJ)
Adorable story inserting an appropriately aged Tim Drake into the animated Young Justice universe. Of course he stalks Robin and Superboy, despite being a kindergartner.
Utterly adorable story in which Troy hugs Abed a lot, and Abed doesn't mind. Really gets the characters right. Sometimes Troy makes decisions about Abed's hugs and instructs him about the people who could benefit from a hug, like Annie or Jeff, and then Abed hugs them and gives Troy a little wink and nod afterwards, like they were in on the hug together, like a travelling hug team. Also, a travelling hug team! ♥ Hugging should totally be a traveling team sport.
Dead End Detour (Wrong Turning Remix) by [Anonymous]
Faith finds some peace in prison, and then she learns that Buffy's dead. Achingly lovely. She'd been so caught up in thinking about her own impending death that she hadn't really though about how B's death affected her. Faith had idolised her once, after all. Wanted to be her so bad she'd crawled right up inside her skin. Would have fucked Buffy herself given half a chance and maybe that would have been enough. But knives and boyfriends and anger all got in the way and Faith didn't think about her much these days except for maybe wishing they could've been real friends. It wasn't Buffy she wanted to be like, not anymore.
The fairytale of River Tam. Lovely. I wish we'd gotten to see more of her interaction with Wash. And the original: http://whiskeycoffee.livejournal.com/4499.html?style=mine by , in which she and Mal share a dance.

River deals with her fear of needles. Really lovely. And the original: If I Could Will You Whole by , in which Simon and Inara discuss a possible curriculum for River.
Babs checks out the latest redhead to wear the Bat. This should totally have happened. Why isn't Kate Kane working with the BoP? I would read the hell out of that. And the remix, where Dinah and Babs discuss the encounter: The Mask You Met Me In (Laser Light Remix) by [anonymous].

Wallace and Veronica watch horror movies and discuss what genre their lives are. This is both heartbreaking and hopeful. I hope Wallace can be the best friend that Lilly couldn't be. Veronica needs him. And the original story: http://archiveofourown.org/works/89363 by andchimeras.
Court Etiquette (The Love Unmasks Us Remix) by [Anonymous]
Queen Hippolyta comes to Metropolis for Superman's memorial and has some interesting conversations, including one with Batman about his intentions towards her daughter. I enjoyed this a lot. (JLU animated)
