There has to be a way to catch the public’s attention again. The trick is finding it before they can’t fall any farther. Sharp, captures Velma Kelly in all her mercenary cunning.

It occurs to Sam that he's basically wrestling with his brother on the side of the road in the middle of this desert swelter, and they're both far too mature, or at least old, to be doing this. And see, that's what Dean does to him; it's like logic and reason and rationale completely cease to exist, or at least to matter, in Dean's orbit and wake. Evocative and atmospheric first time wincest, set in season 1.

Sing a Song of Revolution by MoragMacPherson
Sing a Song of Revolution by MoragMacPherson
Hard, sad look at the inside of Sam's head while he detoxes after MBV. Sam screams for Dean to come back, but the sound just bounces off the walls. Bobby built the room with iron walls and rubbed salt into them, it's protecting Sam from the ghosts and the demons outside, but not from the ones within. Sam curls back in on himself, willing Dean's soup to work its way through his system faster, demon-proof his insides; a childhood remedy to banish the ghosts of Sam's memory.

Oh, Sam... Really great job with the POV and the tense, and the repetition to convey Sam's otherworldliness. You will come back. This is a given. You will not crawl out of a shallow grave out of the ground, working your splinters into your fingers and working your nails out of them, and you will not sing Led Zeppelin IV under your breath while you do not do this. You will not wonder if it is all just another trick. This paragraph is someone else’s story. In your story, you will blink. You will blink and then you will be standing on the ground on grass and the grass will be prickling the soles of your bare feet. You will be standing in the middle of an empty field and although it will be a field you have never stood in before, for a while all you will be able to wonder is how long it has been since you stood on anything at all. You will not know the answer to that question for a few days yet.

Two Aces (the Hold'em remix) by [Anonymous]
The next day, Bobby suggests poker and pretends to think that the way Sam is constantly glancing towards his brother is just part of their game play. Maybe Dean even believes it, but Bobby hasn't forgotten the months when Dean was gone. Time was, Sam never even glanced at the space where his brother should be. But that was when he was sure that Dean would be filling it. Lovely remix of 52 Pickup, from various other POVs on Sam and Dean over the years. (Wincest)

Sometimes, when Dean dreams, it's about the sound of socked-feet sliding over slick blankets, and piles of nickels and dimes falling down. Sometimes it's beer bottles crashing together. And sometimes, it's Sam laughing, his hand wrapped around the back of Dean's neck, thumb tucked up under Dean's ear like it's telling him a secret. Lovely bit of Sam/Dean on the road in s5.

Delicate, achy evocation of Dean's grief and eventual tentative steps towards healing after 5.22. Lovely. Nice use of 2nd person.

So they fuck, then, and it’s all spine-twisting, hair pulling and hard, wonderful hands gripping her skin like it’s the most addictive substance in the world, which, really, just ask her, and she'll tell you all about it. Afterward, she curls up inside the big spoon of him, and tries to imagine the ways in which he could die. Erotic asphyxiation seems to be winning out over a bullet to the head (quick, clean, easy) and a knife to the gut (slow, messy, just as easy). She might even enjoy the first one. Which might be why the professionalism of the two latter ones might take higher priority once the afterglow of the best three fucking orgasms of her life have faded. ‘What are you thinking about?’ He asks, tracing her cheekbone and pulling her hair back from her face, his fingers tracing patterns in her skin. She smiles. ‘You.’ Fantastically brutal look at Aisha, and what made her who she is.

When You're Good to Mama (The Grateful Remix) by hoosierbitch
Fantastic look at what Neal does for June, and what it costs, and how he learns to live with it. "There's a difference," she says, when he tries to kiss her. "Between being pragmatic and being cruel." And June has been many things in her life, but cruel is not one of them.

Above Us Only Sky (The Golden Age Remix) by Lassiter
In the middle of this desolation, Anna throws her head back, opens her mouth, and sings hosannas in her true voice, just to remind herself of it, just because she can. The song whips around her and disturbs the sand, rearranges the dunes. Miles and miles away, humans in the nearest settlement look up curiously at the horizon, snared by a sudden restless melancholy. Once it passes, they'll liken it to hearing a song in a dream; once you wake up, it is no longer music. You aren't what you were in the dream, so you can no longer understand. That's be the best way they'll be able to explain it, if they're inclined to explain it at all. Gorgeous character study of Anna after she's become an angel again.

Several Ways to Apologize by Aria
Several Ways to Apologize by Aria
After Sirius sent Snivellus down the Willow, James didn't talk to him for a week. Sirius thought this was particularly unfair, considering that he had a month's worth of detention and meanwhile Professor Dumbledore was acting like the sun shone out of James' arse. He started saying so, loudly, until James hauled off and hexed him. The shouting match that followed happened with legumes growing out of Sirius' ears. And after that everything was back to normal between them. Remus, on the other hand, acted like nothing had happened at all, and that was much worse. Nicely done prank-aftermath story.

Something from Nothing (The Gratitude Sings in Me Chorale) by Laura
Something from Nothing (The Gratitude Sings in Me Chorale) by Laura
"This is what I have to be doing," River says. He's wary of her, and that's going to have to change now. "Well, you can't just go on staring at me. Makes a man nervous after a time. That time, you understand, being now." She smiles, and says, "I could help you. You can't cook, you know." "There ain't nothing wrong with my cooking," he says. But he scratches the back of his neck and looks away. "And 'sides, it don't seem like the best idea to be letting you loose with all the boiling water and the knives and such." She sighs and reaches across the table to pull the carrots and the knife toward her. The knife feels right in her hand, another kind of dancing when she lets herself feel the rhythm of it. When she looks back at Mal, there's a pile of finely chopped carrot in front of her, and he's staring at her, mouth open. Wonderful Mal and River voices, as River begins to fit herself into the crew after Ariel.

It didn’t really seem like it, though, because as far as Ben could tell, Dean didn’t do much with them besides push them around on his plate. He paid more attention to his cup, and Ben wasn’t stupid, he knew it was alcohol in there. In his experience alcohol made grownups louder, but Dean just got quieter and quieter as he drank – and Ben remembered Dean, all right, but he didn’t remember Dean like this. Painfully realistic coda to "Swan Song."
